The house is in a great location, easy to get to and check-in was easy. The place was poorly cleaned, if at all. It was very run-down. The master bath shower doors would not open and the glass doors clearly uncleaned. The light worked intermittently (something with the switch) and the toilet would plug with even just a small amount of toilet paper. There was a filthy and well used plunger next to the toilet, so clearly this is an ongoing issue. Because of this, we all had to use the hall bath exclusively. There was an issue with our payment, and the owner/property manager contacted me often during our stay over our for payment. Why that brought it to our attention two days into our stay I am unsure. The payment issue, I was told, was an issue with my credit card either being expired with VRBO or not uploaded yet? It was not expired, however and had certainly been uploaded. After a 20 minute chat with VRBO, I was told that no, they could not process my payment because the owner had set up payment through a 3rd party management company, which I had to pay directly. I was told I had to upload my CC info into the property management's system and that was the only way I could pay. The whole point of using VRBO is so that I can book and pay on one trusted site. I spent an annoying amount of my short vacation time dealing with my credit card issue. I just counted, and I received 6 texts and 5 emails regarding my payment and details, but none regarding the issues I had.
We stayed here for 2 weeks while we moved our son to SLC. This is the upper level of a house, with neighbors below. You can hear the neighbors, but they were not outrageously noisy. There is a lot of road noise as this house sits on a corner of a busy road. The living room furniture was comfortable and clean, the area spacious. Dining table was nice. Washer and dryer were very convenient since we were staying for 2 weeks. The kitchen does have high-end appliances, however, the cabinetry and counters are older. We only ate breakfast at the house and the kitchen was stocked with most standard stuff, however, there was no cooking spatula and when I let the property manager know, I was told they’d address it after we left- so no spatula during our stay. There were no dish towels and no hot pads/oven mitts. This place fell short of 5 stars in the finishing touches. There were scuff marks on the walls, weird stains, chips in the wood frames and baseboards, drywall that was patched but the paint didn’t quite match to cover it, the thermostat was hanging off the wall, no luggage holders to get our suitcases off the floor, and the shower curtain in the 2nd bathroom was dirty (I took it off and washed it). None of these things detracted from our stay and it did meet all of our needs. I recommend it for good price, but not high end. I did address all of my concerns directly with the property manager, so hopefully these things will be resolved for the next renter.
Very clean, comfortable and spacious property well equipped with everything you need. Very close access to the canyons and tons of food and retail options. We had our best spring ski trip ever
This is one level of a house, beautifully decorated, beds were super comfy. We did not have dishwasher soap or sponges but they did drop some off. Never figured out how to use the fireplace but it was warm in Cottonwood heights, dezpite snow and cold temps in the canyons. Had everything needed to cook except spices. We picked up a bunch so hopefully they are still there and will add to the cooking array! Once we figured out the tv, we wat hed a movie each night, relaxing til bed. The ine bedroom carries the noise from downstairs so bring a noise maker if you are a light sleeper, never heard anything in the king bedroom but we use a noisemaker. I would rent this home again, it was convenient to shops, skiing in both little and big cottonwood canyons and comfortable!
Good general location of property. Be prepared for a lot of road noise from the busy street next to the property. Also the “master” bedroom bath is devoid of any useable counter space. The other bathroom is cramped because you can’t even close the door where the washer/dryer was crammed into. Overall for a small group, the place is clean, fairly well appointed and most of all is close to lots of shops and activities. Should you need something in a pinch, it’s a great choice.
Very convenient for ski trip. Comfortable and good value for price. We found no sponges in the kitchen and minimum number of towels throughout, but over Christmas holiday it was not able to be corrected. This did not overly detract from the stay. Would come again.
