Stayed Aug 4, 2025We loved the property! It was perfectly located walking distance to all the city attractions. We took up the owners advice on restaurants. My kids loved the toys. It entertained them while we got ready. I would definitely stay there again!

Stayed Jul 29, 2025This spotless, beautiful designer’s-eye property could not be better located for a Reykjavik visit. About ten minutes on foot to the Hallgrímskirkja, and from there you can walk the entire downtown all the way to the harbor area if you wish (as we did). There is a little park right across the street (bring your disc golf discs boys) which also houses the Kjarvalsstadir location of the National Museum—well worth a stop and also has a fantastic cafe. This came in very handy when it was pouring rain and we were exhausted from 20,000-step days trudging up and down volcanos and waterfalls. Parking is no problem in the neighborhood and this location also makes a great base for any daytrips outside RVK to the countryside hotspots. We were two plus two teens and were perfectly comfortable. House is spotless and made us embarrassed to think of our messy house. Hostess Anna gave excellent local eating and shopping recommendations which we quickly found to be spot on, utilizing almost all of them. Check in/out effortless—this place is how VRBO should always work, and we couldn’t have been any happier with the stay.

Stayed Jul 16, 2025Absolutely perfect! Walking distance into town but situated that when we left with our hired car there was easy access to get all the routes out of town. Excellent bunk beds for our two kids to have their own room and plenty of shared space downstairs. Absolutely would stay here again. Hostess was the most responsive I’ve had on VRBO. Absolutely perfect all the way around!

Stayed May 15, 2024Our family of 3 stayed in this home for a week. Pros: *Short walk to city center, which our 7 year old could do with (little to no) complaining. *Quiet neighborhood and private parking. *Comfortable bedding. *Games available to play. *Great cooktop that heated water extremely quickly. *Fantastic communication. *Friendly host and caretaker. Caretaker was great with our child. *Laundry facility available. Cons: *Laundry is shared with the caretaker and it was not clear ahead of time which washing machine was his, so we accidentally used his machine. He was gracious about it, but we wish it would have been abundantly clear (labeled?) which was available for our use. *There were 2 washing machines and one dryer. Not sure if the dryer is shared with the caretaker. *Upstairs bathroom could have been cleaner. *Dining room smelled old – it was clean but it’s an old building, so something to take into account if you are highly sensitive to smells. Was only an issue for one person in our party. Sidenote, not pro nor con: *It is clear that you are staying at someone’s house and not just a rental property. The host’s personal belongings were visible (albeit neatly put away) (e.g. cold weather clothing in the drop zone). Overall, a lovely stay. We recommend it.
