The location is amazing if you love this type of location and History !! Its amazing, The Home is very clean and very comfortable with a great view. The Owner only left a Mr. Coffee Pot, with Coffee Filters and Coffee, and salt and pepper, and lots of dishes, glasses and cups and silverware, and a bottle of dish detergent, but that was it !!!! No Creamer, or Sugar for the coffee... literally nothing, Not even a bottle of water. Other than that, I highly suggest it here, keeping in mind the History

We had a great time staying at the Asylum house. I will not lie it was a bit scary driving up. Once there it was a blast. Walking around the old Hospital grounds. We think we got some voice box recordings. Did hear some screams, well we think we did. Saw the old Prison creepy for sure. Must go to the old cemetery. Could have used more towels, but that would be the only down side. So if your looking for a place that has a past, this is the place. Its a must see for sure. Thanks. John.

A renovated duplex with multiple handicap parking (perhaps a former doctor's office/residence?) in the shadow of the abandoned world's once-largest mental health asylum can be just the right stay for certain people, and just the wrong stay for others. Fortunately, we're the right kind of guests, and we appreciated the history of the Central State Hospital while also enjoying the convenience to downtown Milledgeville. If you're squeamish about being mostly alone on the neighborhood and surrounded by creepy and run-down buildings, this might not be the stay for you. The 2-bedroom guest area was spacious, clean, and easy to access; parking is right beside the door, for convenience and security. Our only wish was for more suitable indoor lighting and furnishing, which we found a bit sparse. Thanks to the hosts for turning this offbeat site into a usable asset, at a reasonable price for the right guests.

Everything is exactly as described. It's a simple, clean, quite place. Has all the needed amenities. It was our first time visiting the area. If you have any interest in being near the asylum and being able to walk around the grounds this spot is the best. The buildings are literally in the backyard. They are not publicly accessible, however, the vibe is right. We walked around and took night photography of the buildings. While you cannot enter the buildings, the architecture is beautiful enough. It's definitely worth the experience. And just a couple miles from the DT area of Milledgeville. We had an overall great stay. tivisiting the are

The place is right on the abandoned asylum grounds, so pretty cool if you’re into exploring that kind of thing. The place is clean and has everything you need, but is not a luxurious place to stay if that is what you’re looking for. We were a little skeptical of the neighbors when we drove up as lots of stuff on their porch, but they were fine, kept to themselves and had a cool cat named Mo who liked to visit us. I would recommend staying here for a small family, couple, or young adults.

We visited Milledgeville for Hippiefest in October. DO NOT FOLLOW Waze directions, you will end up in very questionable areas, but Tom's directions were super helpful, as were his food recommendations. The pictures are fairly accurate, and the proximity to the hospital was really the selling point. Its much closer than it appears in the one photo. Milledgeville is a fun weekend stay and the spook factor made it even better!

Teens and adults, we all had a great stay at Asylum House 2. It appears this home is still a bit of a work in progress, as there are a couple of cosmetic things that are still being touched up. The place is full functional though, comfortably sleeping all 4 of us and our smallish dog. Walking the grounds with out morning coffee was very interesting, and the distance to downtown Milledgeville and nearby conveniences is minimal. The property manager was great and very responsive. The property is a duplex, so there was some interaction with the guy next door as we would let our dogs out or while coming and going. There was also an adorable cat in a spiked collar who seems to just make himself at home anywhere. The kids loved the cat interactions. We would stay here again.

We stayed here the weekend of our son's wedding and loved it. It was quiet and much more interesting and more comfortable than staying in a hotel. The host was incredibly helpful and responded to all of my questions.
