The house in need of major repairs. The view is awesome. The house was a
Very peaceful with a beautiful view. We had a great stay everyone was very nice and very helpful with anything we needed.
The view is stunning, unfortunately the property is not well maintained. Deck has significant dry rot, additionally a lot of dry rot on the home itself. Home needs to be upgraded and the rodent infestation addressed. The owners and everyone we dealt with was wonderful, hated saying the negative things since I did like them so much and hope they take my words to heart and put money back into that property as it is a million dollar view.
Nice boat dock and great location. Need to improve of 1) toilets; 2)showers;
Casa Loma has a fantastic location, but the house has significant deferred maintenance and safety issues. We made a list of these issues and gave it to management at checkout, but the owner wasn't even interested enough to turn around and talk to us. We note now that similar issues were reported by other reviewers as far back as 2018. The house has a wrap-around deck. Many screws have popped up as much as an inch above the deck boards. Even though we tightened them repeatedly, the joists are so rotten that the screws have nothing to bite into, so they just popped up again a few hours later. Some of the deck boards bent nearly a half inch when stepped on - we tried to step only directly above a joist. The hot tub has leaked and rotted the boards around it - the joists have separated from the beams, and some of the boards have warped into S curves. The 4x4s holding up the hot tub are simply sitting on cinder blocks that aren't even level. None of our party felt safe getting into the hot tub, for fear it would collapse. The outside stairs are *seriously* in need of repair - the boards are split and rotted, and there are holes in the house next to the steps. We do not believe the deck and stairs would pass an inspection. The soffit and fascia are literally falling off the house on the east side (right above the deck). Inside the house, there is a hole in the master bedroom wall. The owner's response from similar previous comments was that they were booked solid and couldn't find time to repair the deck. For three years?? Smaller issues - which could all be easily fixed but weren't: The shade on the east master bedroom window should have been replaced years ago - it doesn't work, the tie-back won't stay in the wall, and it's a broken mess. The coffee pot didn't work, the dishwasher was too dirty to use, the base of one of the lamps was shattered. We found something that looked like droppings on a kitchen shelf. Lamps were missing light bulbs, which we replaced. The deck furniture is torn. There is nowhere to hang coats or wet clothes. And WHITE CARPET in a house for anglers???? Don't even think of bringing little kids here - the railings on the inside stairs aren't up to modern code and they have open risers. There is poison ivy along the walkway to the lake. The bunk bed had no way to get to the upper bunk and the railing was loose.
The view was awesome!!! The rest.... well where do we start. We usually go as a guys trip to Island View Lodge. We picked this place because we were taking our wives on an anniversar/ fishing trip (3 couples). The house was very dirty with cobwebs. One closet in the basement looked like it had not been cleaned all summer. Hot tub water was clean but the bottom was filled with sand. Dishwasher had 3 inches of worst smelling water in the bottom-obviously never used it. Exterior of the house is in very bad condition. The deck is in very bad repair and my brother slipped on day one in a location where the green slime had built up because the down spout was broken. Won’t be going back.....
Beautiful location. Sunrise over the lake was amazing. We had a wonderful time. The staff at rainy lake houseboats' were excellent. Response to calls for help took minutes. We would definitely recommend this rental.
We had a group of 9 ranging from 2 to 62 everyone had a great time, found the house accommodating and spacious. We do wish the hot tub would have been operable, it was empty upon arrival and looked in need of repairs
Had a great time property is a beautiful place will be back
I liked the size of the house and we enjoyed the deck looking out over the lake and seeing the sunrise and the sunset. We appreciated having a full kitchen to our disposal along with the washer and dryer. However, the condition of the house needs work. There are holes in a couple of the walls and a couple of us refused to go into the hot tub because the deck it is sitting on is sagging. The washing machine doesn't work well and when the wash cycle is complete, you need to put it on the spin cycle again. We did catch 5 mice, but, we're from the country and we know that mice come inside when it gets cold outside. Besides that, it is a great get-away and we enjoyed our stay. We do want to thank you for renting us your property for a great week away from the rat-race we call work!
