Stayed Dec 22, 2025We needed extra sleeping space for family over the holidays. The charming old tavern and added bedroom , baths provided a comfortable retreat and the extra space we needed for visiting family. This was nearby and most accommodating for the extended family. Would definitely stay here on another visit.

Stayed Nov 1, 2025The kitchen was well stocked for us to prepare meals while vacationing. The road is lovely for a morning walk. I wouldn't walk it in the dark only because there are a lot of curves and visibility could be an issue. The host is responsive and works hard to get things right. The space is comfortable. Go into it knowing that it is an old house that is being slowly remodeled. Bits of the original dwelling are in place which adds to its charm. It is rustic but very comfortable.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025for a family of 5, this property provided amplecomfort and respite amidst jam-packed days of hiking, swimming, sight-seeing, etc.! the kitchen was the much valued heart of household activity and we highly appreciated the variety of appliances provided to offer us the most fulfilling of meal experiences. the house was also very well air conditioned, which was lovely after a long day out in the summer sun.

Stayed Jul 2, 2025I loved staying at this house. It dates back to 1772 and you can just feel the history. It’s also very comfortable and the air conditioning works great. The kitchen is modern. It’s in town and very convenient. Great views of the Housatonic River.
