Rockport, Massachusetts
This peaceful location on a quiet lane just outside of Rockport's downtown offers an easy place from which to enjoy the best that this world-renowned sea-side art colony has to offer. Beaches, shops, art galleries, restaurants, and Rockport Harbor are all just a five-minute walk from your door.
A five minute walk takes you directly into the heart of Rockport's downtown, full of art galleries, quaint shops, restaurants, and home of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and Rockport Art Association. Boat tours leave regularly from two wharves, and you can rent sea kayaks, go deep sea-fishing, or climb the rocks at the end of Bearskin Neck and watch the sun set over the harbor and the famous Motif #1 fishing shack.
The same short walk brings you to Front Beach, with its fine swimming and scenic views of Rockport's coastline for adults, and gradual slope and tidepools that delight children. Along the way you will pass the lane leading to Millbrook Meadow, an oasis-like park with a pond, waterfall, babbling brook, and large lawn with swings and slide.
This property is located close to downtown which has shops, galleries, beaches, & restaurants. The kitchen and family room are comfortable & well provisioned. Having three bedrooms was also convenient with teenagers! Plenty of parking too!
The location was great. Easy walk down to the shops and the ocean, also an easy drive to surrounding towns. Would stay there again.
The house is a bit dated, but so comfortable and the location is perfect. It was a short walk to breakfast, lunch, dinner and shopping. Rockport was located in easy driving distance to other places we wished to visit.
Rented the house for a tuna fishing trip, perfect location. 20 minutes from the docks. Definitely will rent again if I'm in the area.
My family and I had a fantastic stay Priscilla's home, everything exceeded our expectations. The home itself is very clean and cozy, comfortable and spacious for the 4 adults we had for this trip. The location is incredible - just a short walk to beautiful downtown Rockport and the beach. We loved walking to get coffee in the mornings and having easy access to all the things that make Rockport such a great destination. Priscilla was welcoming, accommodating and quick to reply. I highly recommend this house and look forward to the opportunity to stay again! This will be our first choice if we are lucky enough to return to Rockport. Thank you!
This was my second time visiting Rockport, first time I stayed on the neck. The house location was perfect and walkable to everything. My parents, daughters and I all fit comfortably. I'd definitely stay here again. Thank you!!
House was close to everything we wanted to do.
Just want to thank the owners - its a beautiful home. For 6 adults- it was very roomy. The house had everything you could think of that you may need. We thought the 1 bathroom was going to be an issue, but it wasn't. Great neighborhood. It was a nice walk to get to town. We walked off our dinner for sure walking back home. Gloucester is maybe 10 minutes away. Salem, maybe 30 minutes. The only 'issue' was the fishy smell when we walked in the house. It was still there Saturday morning. So we febreezed everything cause we weren't sure where it was coming from. Its possible previous renters cooked fish or lobster and it just lingered? Other than that our trip was s blast. We had no reason to contact the owners, so we didn't.
The rooms look very clean and are spacious than they appear in the pictures. Two out of the three bedrooms and the living room have ACs which are helpful during hot summer days. Check-in process is easy. The owner is very thoughtful to provide a handbook with local restaurant recommendations and many local maps and activity pamphlets. We used grill to make dinner. The location of the house is convenient, just 5 min walk to Main street and Front Beach. There are many art galleries, restaurants and ice cream shops on Main street. The view in Rockport is picturesque, and there are many activities available in Cape Ann area. We had a very pleasant stay in this house and area.
This was by far the easiest VRBO rental I have had. Everything was exactly as advertised. Came to attend a wedding. The day we drove up from NJ was the hottest day of the year to date. Homes generally do not have air conditioning. When we arrived, we found that owner had opened windows to cool the home. Stayed two nights and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Owner was very fast responding to any messages through VRBO. Can't say enough about how nice this experience was.
The house more spacious than it seemed from the pictures, we stayed as a family group of 6 people (3 generations) and there was plenty of room. Location is perfect, on a small quiet cul-de-sac off Main Street, within an easy walk to Bearskin Neck. It's an older house but well-maintained and sparkling clean. A slightly overgrown yard creates a wonderful low-key Rockport beach vibe. Priscilla is an amazing host who really went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. On the first day of our stay, we had a major issue with the shower. I messaged Priscilla at 11pm on a Friday night before a long weekend (but had low hopes for a quick response given the timing). Priscilla called me on Saturday morning at 8am, to say that she arranged for a plumber to come the same morning. When the plumber couldn't fix the issue, she found another contractor who came in the same afternoon. (We didn't even have to stay in the repairmen, we were out the whole time enjoying the area.) When it turned out that the issue can't be fixed quickly, Priscilla offered to rent a room in a nearby motel for us, so that we could go there to shower. I declined since that wouldn't be a practical solution for my group, and then Priscilla gave me a full refund on my stay. I was extremely impressed by her quick reaction and her generosity. It's amazing how she really cared and tried to help us in all possible ways. Thank you, Priscilla, and we hope to return some other time! [To a future renter: the shower issue will obviously get a permanent fix before the house can be rented again, so you needn't worry about it. What you need to know is that Priscilla is a host who will be there for you and will do everything to help you with any questions or issues that might arise during your stay.]
My husband was working in Gloucester on a scallop boat, and so our 1 year old son and I stayed down with him. The house was perfect for the last week we needed! With the season on a quota, you’re never sure exactly how much time you need to reserve a place, so I was beyond thankful when the host allowed us to add an extra night onto our reservation.
We had a great time this weekend. The location of the house was perfect for walking everywhere and enjoying a spring weekend away.
We stayed at Priscilla's home this past weekend to celebrate a family birthday. We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this comfortable home. Checking in was easy and Priscilla made sure we knew how everything worked, from the tv to the washer/dryer. We were just a short walk from downtown Rockport and it was so convenient, especially since we could park our car in the driveway! The home was clean and cozy for relaxing. We would highly recommend this home and Priscilla to anyone looking for a fun stay in Rockport! Thank you Priscilla for being such a consdierate host, we hope to return soon!
