Ever dreamed of being the landlord of your very own Irish Pub Well now you can…and what’s more this traditional Irish Pub is ideally located along Irelands Newest Iconic Trademark, the Wild Atlantic Way in the Village of Castlemaine, birthplace of the Wild Colonial Boy and where the Dingle Peninsula meets the Iveragh Peninsula. The scenery in this area has been described as ‘like stepping into a picture book’. Close to the Ring of Kerry and only a 15-20 minute drive to the bustling tourist town of Killarney this is the perfect base for exploring by day if you so wish while experiencing a slice of authentic Irish Village life! Oh…and did we mention its less than a ten minute drive to one of Irelands most famous beaches …Inch Beach…where an Inch is a mile! Stay here and you will never run out of places to see or things to do while in the evening coming back and relaxing in your very own Pub!

Called after Jack Duggan this Pub dates back to 1903 and walking into it you would you would think that you are entering typical traditional Irish Village Pub full of Character and Charm. In fact this Pub only closed its doors to the Public in 2017 and it has remained the same since. The only thing that has changed are the living quarters which have undergone an extensive refurbishment. A more comfortable, warm and cosy place to stay you will not find and that’s not including the Pub.

The accommodation includes the Bar with open fire, pool table, T.V.s and multiple games to choose from, a fully functioning separate kitchen, Kegs room with top of the range cooling system, a separate lounge room or chill out room as we like to call it with T.V. and fire, four double bedrooms and one twin room sleeping 10 people in total (cot and kids bed also available), two fully refurbished shower room, one fully refurbished bathroom and also a separate w.c.
This Pub is ideal for any family or group of friends who wish to spend some time together just getting away from it all or exploring the region. Also within a two hour drive from Jack Duggans Pub you will find 43 Golf Courses including many of Ireland's top 20 courses e.g., Killarney, Ballybunion, Tralee and Waterville making this also an ideal base for a Golf Trip. Or indeed for the climbing enthusiast we are within easy reach of the McGillycuddy reeks, Ireland highest mountain range…the possibilities are endless!

Castlemaine Village itself offers a local Store perfect to pick up your convenience items and and if you are tired after a long day why not stroll across the road to eat in Knightley’s Bar and Restaurant. We also recommend ordering your groceries online prior to arrival and getting them delivered by the local Supermarket saving much time and effort.

This property is owned by the Casey family who have been welcoming guests in their home in Killarney since 2011. Please check out Killarney Manor House for details and reviews. I am sure you will find you will be in good hands. We will be available throughout your stay to help you in any way possible from advice on local activities to arranging a trip for you, no matter is too big or small.

Visit us here at Jack Duggans Pub and you will be guaranteed to be greeted with a smile and the famous 'Cead Mile Failte' (a hundred thousand welcomes) of the Irish people!

Located in a sleepy, quite town about 13 miles from Killarney National Park, my family and I enjoyed the amenities of the pub while lounging and recharging our batteries before moving onto the next phase of our holiday. Easy, scenic drive to park allowed us to stay out of the traffic and congestion surrounding Killarney. Would book again especially if we travel with another family as the property was roomy and comfortable.

Our stay in Jack Duggan's pub was so fun and comfortable for everyone! We wanted a small town experience close to adventures in Kilarney and Dingle, this place was the perfect solution. The convenience store just a block away was great for snacks, beer, and other conveniences. We had a great time connecting with local folks and the wonderful bartender at Griffen's pub, just down the street. The accommodations were clean, with plently of beds and 3 bathrooms. I highly recommend Jack Duggan's for an authentic Irish experience!

My family really enjoyed our stay! The pub was a great place to hangout and the upstairs was very comfortable. The location was perfect with a bar and restaurant close by.

This was a fun property for our family of 8. The property was clean and comfortable. The only downside was it was not near any activities or restaurants like we had thought it was. That was our fault for not researching more. It does get a bit noisy in the morning with all the traffic going by.

Everything was extremely easy to navigate. Any issue (small) we could reach out to Catriona and everything was addressed immediately. Usually something we just couldn’t figure out. lol. Loved our stay! Great for us and our adult children and spouses.

We booked as it was a unique stay and we were very surprised when we got there, the photos don't do it justice. The 5 bedrooms upstairs were all a very good size and very comfortable. Lounge upstairs was big but the space downstairs was better in summer, can imagine it would be great in Winter. Bathrooms were a good size and everyone had hot showers when needed. The bar downstairs was a great family area and getting a keg in was a very good idea!!Kitchen was stocked with everything needed for family meals and a good size, table seated all 8 of us comfortably. Location was central for lots of places in Kerry, small shop in the village stocked enough to keep us going and the petrol station in town was handy.

We had 10 people staying (friends, family, business friends). The accommodation was brilliant for our group. Lots of space, clean, kitchen was fully equipped so we could make breakfasts and packed lunches.Bedrooms were clean, tidy, and updated. Beds were comfortable. Heating system was simple to turn on to deal with any cooler evenings. Washer and dryer were very useful since our trip to Europe was over a period of a few weeks. Parking was easy. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Spent a week exploring all my favorite places. Love the Kerry people…they are “wired” to be helpful and friendly.

We had a fantastic time staying 5 nights at Jack Duggans Bar House. It’s a perfect location. We loved Inch Beach and the local restaurant Griffins, Killarney National Park and Dingle. The 20 something’s loved having their own bar & Keg. Wonderful time. Host was super.

We had a great time staying at Jack Duggan’s Pub — such a fun and unique spot! The town is quiet but in a great central location. There’s a market nearby if you need anything, and Griffin’s has awesome food and drinks. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were nicely updated. The wi-fi wasn't working when we arrived but Catriona fixed it within minutes of contacting her. It was such a fun experience having the pub all to ourselves. My boys are already talking about coming back someday with their friends!

This is just what you would think, a fun cozy pub. We had 10 in our group and filled the pub nicely. It was just what the birthday girl wanted. The only down side was the bar/restaurant across the street did not serve food any longer, we were hoping to not have to drive in the evenings, the closest food was 15 minutes away which is not bad just not what we were expecting. Also no fault of the host. Thank you for the great stay!

The place was in a great location if you want to be out of the a city with close proximity to Killarney, Dingle peninsula and Cliffs of Kerry. 15 minutes to Killarney, 10 to Killorglin, 15’to the beach. The house/pub itself is quite comfortable with everything you need. Great for a group of guys on a trip together The biggest drawback is that while Castlemaine itself is quite small, there is a lot of traffic that passes right by the house, so sleeping in can be tough if you are a light sleeper.

Enjoyed the convenience to Dingle, Killarney National Park (horseback riding), Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.WiFi did not work which limited use of the bar area and music/tv’s. Host were informed on Day 1 but no improvement (effort) was made to fix it Day 2.The novelty of Jack Duggans was unique but the house had a musty smell and could use freshening.

We stayed at jack duggan pub. It was clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation and really fun to have the bar. On a busy road so some traffic noise but with windows closed it was fine. The house is well stocked, our host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any queries. We went to the griffin for a nice pub dinner one night and the staff there were fabulous.

Great Pub VRBO. My family couldn't believe we really had the entire pub! Snooker table a bit torn up and new cues are definitely needed but we still had fun. Plenty of room to spread out for the 9 of us. The beds were very comfortable.

Very nice and clean property. Nice beds. Lots of room. Strong showers and modern bathrooms. Great location to sightseeing and several cute towns nearby with good food. Across the street from a nice little convenient store and a very good restaurant. The pub space on the first floor is a terrific gathering place. Washer and dryer and hairdryer were very much appreciated.
