Stayed Aug 6, 2023Located in a sleepy, quite town about 13 miles from Killarney National Park, my family and I enjoyed the amenities of the pub while lounging and recharging our batteries before moving onto the next phase of our holiday. Easy, scenic drive to park allowed us to stay out of the traffic and congestion surrounding Killarney. Would book again especially if we travel with another family as the property was roomy and comfortable.

Stayed Nov 24, 2025Our stay in Jack Duggan's pub was so fun and comfortable for everyone! We wanted a small town experience close to adventures in Kilarney and Dingle, this place was the perfect solution. The convenience store just a block away was great for snacks, beer, and other conveniences. We had a great time connecting with local folks and the wonderful bartender at Griffen's pub, just down the street. The accommodations were clean, with plently of beds and 3 bathrooms. I highly recommend Jack Duggan's for an authentic Irish experience!

Stayed Sep 9, 2025This was a fun property for our family of 8. The property was clean and comfortable. The only downside was it was not near any activities or restaurants like we had thought it was. That was our fault for not researching more. It does get a bit noisy in the morning with all the traffic going by.

Stayed Aug 7, 2025Everything was extremely easy to navigate. Any issue (small) we could reach out to Catriona and everything was addressed immediately. Usually something we just couldn’t figure out. lol. Loved our stay! Great for us and our adult children and spouses.

Stayed Jul 19, 2025We booked as it was a unique stay and we were very surprised when we got there, the photos don't do it justice. The 5 bedrooms upstairs were all a very good size and very comfortable. Lounge upstairs was big but the space downstairs was better in summer, can imagine it would be great in Winter. Bathrooms were a good size and everyone had hot showers when needed. The bar downstairs was a great family area and getting a keg in was a very good idea!!Kitchen was stocked with everything needed for family meals and a good size, table seated all 8 of us comfortably. Location was central for lots of places in Kerry, small shop in the village stocked enough to keep us going and the petrol station in town was handy.

Stayed Jun 27, 2025We had 10 people staying (friends, family, business friends). The accommodation was brilliant for our group. Lots of space, clean, kitchen was fully equipped so we could make breakfasts and packed lunches.Bedrooms were clean, tidy, and updated. Beds were comfortable. Heating system was simple to turn on to deal with any cooler evenings. Washer and dryer were very useful since our trip to Europe was over a period of a few weeks. Parking was easy. I would not hesitate to recommend this place. Spent a week exploring all my favorite places. Love the Kerry people…they are “wired” to be helpful and friendly.

Stayed Jun 9, 2025We had a fantastic time staying 5 nights at Jack Duggans Bar House. It’s a perfect location. We loved Inch Beach and the local restaurant Griffins, Killarney National Park and Dingle. The 20 something’s loved having their own bar & Keg. Wonderful time. Host was super.

Stayed May 30, 2025We had a great time staying at Jack Duggan’s Pub — such a fun and unique spot! The town is quiet but in a great central location. There’s a market nearby if you need anything, and Griffin’s has awesome food and drinks. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were nicely updated. The wi-fi wasn't working when we arrived but Catriona fixed it within minutes of contacting her. It was such a fun experience having the pub all to ourselves. My boys are already talking about coming back someday with their friends!

Stayed May 18, 2025This is just what you would think, a fun cozy pub. We had 10 in our group and filled the pub nicely. It was just what the birthday girl wanted. The only down side was the bar/restaurant across the street did not serve food any longer, we were hoping to not have to drive in the evenings, the closest food was 15 minutes away which is not bad just not what we were expecting. Also no fault of the host. Thank you for the great stay!

Stayed May 6, 2025The place was in a great location if you want to be out of the a city with close proximity to Killarney, Dingle peninsula and Cliffs of Kerry. 15 minutes to Killarney, 10 to Killorglin, 15’to the beach. The house/pub itself is quite comfortable with everything you need. Great for a group of guys on a trip together The biggest drawback is that while Castlemaine itself is quite small, there is a lot of traffic that passes right by the house, so sleeping in can be tough if you are a light sleeper.

Stayed Apr 30, 2025Enjoyed the convenience to Dingle, Killarney National Park (horseback riding), Killarney and the Ring of Kerry.WiFi did not work which limited use of the bar area and music/tv’s. Host were informed on Day 1 but no improvement (effort) was made to fix it Day 2.The novelty of Jack Duggans was unique but the house had a musty smell and could use freshening.

Stayed Aug 12, 2024We stayed at jack duggan pub. It was clean, comfortable and spacious accommodation and really fun to have the bar. On a busy road so some traffic noise but with windows closed it was fine. The house is well stocked, our host was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any queries. We went to the griffin for a nice pub dinner one night and the staff there were fabulous.

Stayed Jun 5, 2024Great Pub VRBO. My family couldn't believe we really had the entire pub! Snooker table a bit torn up and new cues are definitely needed but we still had fun. Plenty of room to spread out for the 9 of us. The beds were very comfortable.

Stayed May 20, 2024Very nice and clean property. Nice beds. Lots of room. Strong showers and modern bathrooms. Great location to sightseeing and several cute towns nearby with good food. Across the street from a nice little convenient store and a very good restaurant. The pub space on the first floor is a terrific gathering place. Washer and dryer and hairdryer were very much appreciated.
