The home layout:

When you arrive, a stone path, lined with solar lights brings you to the front porch with a swinging bench. The smart-lock entry opens to the living room where there is a full-sized pull out sofa, comfy chair, fireplace and 55-inch smart TV. From there french doors open to a large dining room with a lounge area connecting to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with high-tech appliances, local organic coffee, a selection of tea and all of the essentials to cook a meal.

This home has two bedrooms, each with a queen bed and spacious closet for storage. For those who like to sleep in, there are black-out curtains in both bedrooms. For easy device charging there are touch-lamps with USB-C and regular USB ports on both sides of each queen bed. The home has one full bathroom with a shower/tub. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are all provided.

Towards the back of the house is the laundry room that has a stacked washer & dryer, laundry soap, ironing board, iron, trash and recycling container.

The permaculture garden:

The 1/3-acre expansive permaculture garden began in 2021 as a passion project by the owner, Melissa, who designed the space to support wildlife, restore the local ecosystem, and create a peaceful refuge for guests and pets alike. The property is graced by majestic old growth willow oaks that provide shade and shelter, creating a serene canopy for the garden below. Guests can enjoy bird watching at their leisure, as a wide array of bird species visit the feeder to feast throughout the day. Butterflies — including monarchs — flutter gracefully among the flowering plants, adding to the tranquil atmosphere.

The landscape features an abundance of food-bearing and native species — like figs, elderberries, strawberries, mulberries, and persimmon — that you're welcome to enjoy when in season. Whether you’re sipping coffee in the screened gazebo, watching your dog explore the yard off-leash, or simply soaking in the quiet beauty of this rare urban green space, this home offers a truly special kind of stay — private, peaceful, and full of natural wonder.

Guest access
The house, gazebo and back yard are all open to guest access.

We had a great stay here for two nights! The beds were extremely comfortable and it was quiet and peaceful sleeping there both nights. We enjoyed the backyard very much - both our pets and kids. My son thought the gazebo with twinkle lights out back was so magical. :) We appreciate the cleanliness of the place and would only have appreciated a little space with maybe kids’ books, puzzles, or blocks or something. My young kiddos go crazy for those things when we stay at vacation rentals and it helps when we can’t bring a lot of our own. Other than that, no feedback! It was perfect for our needs and we enjoyed it!
