Description

Quiet home, with swimming pool, located in the heart of Lexington near UK, hospitals, schools, shopping, and downtown. Quirky, yet comfortable, the house is furnished with a mix of handcrafted furniture, antiques, and modern pieces. Modern kitchen appliances round out the picture.

It features Living/dining room, Kitchen, Den/TV room, 2 bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. All rooms are on one level; washer/dryer are in the unfinished basement. There is no wall-to-wall carpet, but several arearugs. The house can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people.

The house also has a cement in-ground swimming pool that was installed in the 1950s. It was their pride and joy for decades, and it's still fully functional and a lot of fun in summer, with depth varying from 3.5 to about 9 feet (no diving board). ALL SWIMMING IS AT GUEST'S OWN RISK. (The swimming pool is NOT HEATED and is open seasonally, depending on weather and other variables. Moreover, we cannot guarantee that it will always be usable; for instance, after a heavy storm the chemical balance sometimes gets out of whack. We stay on top of it pretty well, though.)

There is a rather large wood deck adjacent to the pool, with an outside table and chairs, and a gas grill is provided for cooking out.

We provide bed linens, towels and soap, but not toothpaste or shampoo. IF YOU PLAN TO USE THE PULL OUT SOFA BED, LET US KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE SO WE CAN BE SURE THE SHEETS ARE THERE! (The cleaning lady frequently forgets to leave extra linens & towels.)
