I really want to give this property 5 stars mainly because it has a wonderful outdoor space/pool and in a very nice, convenient location and neighborhood. The reason I gave it 4 stars is due to 2 things: 1) This house is HOT. The rules state that you cannot turn the air down below 72 and it will not cool more than 20 degrees below the outside temperature. It is true- you cannot turn down the temperature because there is a lock on the thermostats, but it NEVER got below 78. The upstairs stayed in the 80s. It was so hot that the guests who were staying upstairs had to go purchase box fans in order for it to be tolerable. The directions say to shut all blinds and shades to keep it cool, but the entire living room and breakfast room are made of windows with no shades or blinds, so you can imagine how hot it got in the middle of the day. When you spend almost 10k for a week, one would expect to be comfortable but it was absolutely miserable. We couldn’t escape the heat. Either invest in new ac units or, at the least, provide more than just ceiling fans in each room. Consider adding blinds/shades in the family room. 2) The house was not very clean when we arrived. There were crumbs and dust bunnies on the floor, tissues under the couches, there was even a full garbage can in one of the upstairs bedrooms. One guest found dental floss next to their bed. Overall, we enjoyed the stay but likely would not book again for what we paid.
We had ten people stay at the house and it was the perfect size and location. The neighborhood was lovely and the beach access was convenient. We were located close to restaurants and grocery stores. The thermostat gave us some trouble as it kept adjusting higher based on a set schedule, but otherwise no issues.
This is a clean, beautiful home in a gorgeous neighborhood. We had a great stay & would definitely visit again. The pool is fantastic! I recommend renting E-bikes to explore Hilton Head Island. The beaches are close by and there are several to choose from.
We had such a great time! The place was absolutely splendid! Plenty of room both inside and outside!
