Moose Pond, Denmark & Bridgton &Sweden
Moose Pond in West Bridgton stretches seven miles from its wilder reaches in its north end in Sweden to its shallower, more placid south end in Denmark. In between find its widest and deepest section in Bridgton just south of the Route 302 causeway. Here the pond is nearly a mile wide and its maximum depth reaches 70 feet.

The distance around the perimeter of this riboon of water is over 33 miles. The Maine Department of Environmental Protection has given Moose Pond an above average water quality rating.

Moose Pond is the setting for one of the most striking views of the area, that of Pleasant Mountain and Shawnee Peak ski area from the Route 302 causeway that bisects Moose Pond. To your right is the wilder, more undeveloped north end of Moose Pond and to your left is the main body of the pond with the massive bulk of Pleasant Mountain, fronted by the ski area, looming up behind.

Moose Pond is home to many different fish species including bass, perch, trout, and pickerel. Because of the variety of shoreline and water depths, Moose Pond is a favorite for local fishermen. There's a public boat launch at the causeway.

In the winter you'll find the main body of the lake dotted with ice fishing houses and the surface crisscrossed with snowmobile tracks.

In the summer, take a break from the pond to hike up Pleasant Mountain and enjoy the magnificent views. The town of Bridgton is nearby offering shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater. Just 15 miles further west along Route 302 enter the shopping mecca of sales tax free North Conway, NH.

Great property and quiet location. Spacious for all 8 of us, beautiful Moose Pond, clean inground pool and very nice neighbors. Perfect family get-a-way and much needed R & R. It was very enjoyable!

Awesome location, steps from Moose Pond and a short drive into the quaint town of Bridgton. The condo is very large, which allowed our family space to spread out and have privacy during our stay. The unit is a little dated and some windows were in disrepair, which was a bummer. We happened to stay during an unusually hot and humid stretch of weather and without AC we needed windows open and every ceiling fan cranking to be comfortable, but, again that's not normal in the woods in Maine so I think normally no AC wouldn't be a concern. The kitchen was well-equipped but we did notice some small ants. Again, it's in the woods so I think that's normal. We attempted to use the grill one night to cook dinner and were disappointed to find that it was too dirty to use so we cooked indoors. The condo comes with a bunch of fun kayaks, paddle boards and pool floats, which we were grateful to have at our disposal. Despite a couple of small hiccups and not ideal weather, our family had a great week and Denise was very responsive to any questions that I had. Thanks!

Townhouse has plenty of space for everyone to fell comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need while enjoying your stay by the pond. Heard lovely call of the loon several times during our stay and caught a glimpse a time or two. We had rain during our stay but we found plenty to do and got some we’ll deserved R&R.

We enjoyed the lake, amenities, and proximity to Bridgeport. Kitchen and house are well stocked. The shared pool, tennis court, dock, and beach we almost always had all to ourselves.

The Owners were GREAT! Very responsive to any questions and easy to work with. This is our 2nd time here and the location itself provided a Large, Clean and Beautiful home with a great views of the Lake. The Lake was also Clean… wonderful for swimming and boating. There is a pool also… but we loved swimming in the lake. There are also many things to do in the surrounding area. We visited 2 Lights at the Rocky Coast with outstanding views where you can dine inside or ouside overlooking the views; Fun Town in Scarborough ia great for families with children; Portland and Naples also have a lot to offer. Had a Wonderful Week!
