There are many orchards and vineyards in Hood River. The Hood River Valley is known for its luscious apples, pears, cherries, peaches and other fruits, and for the view of the majestic snowcapped peak of Mt. Hood. People from all over Oregon make an annual trek in the fall to the many farm stands to stock up on fresh apples and pears. Other produce is available, and varies by season. The award-winning Hood River Vineyards is located on a hillside overlooking the Hood River Valley. Their tasting room features traditional wines, and fruit liqueurs.
The Columbia River Gorge, with its magnificent views make this a dream spot for a destination wedding.
Wind surfing capital of the world is Hood River's latest distinction. The winds from the Columbia River Gorge, best during the middle of the day, create ideal conditions for riding the waves. To enjoy the view of "boardheads" at play, drive to the Columbia Gorge Sailpark or follow Second Street to the waterfront.
The Mt. Hood region and its more than sixty miles of forested mountains, 77 waterfalls and myriad lakes and streams are a rip-roaring mecca for outdoor adventure. The mountain is home to four ski areas and offers the country's only year-round skiing and snowboarding.
Property was clean, beds were comfortable, beautiful view from the dining area and deck, good off street parking. Only issue I had was with the blow dryer overheating, needs to be replaced.
Great location close to town. House was perfect for two couple.
Just an economical carpet replacement could turn this property from good to excellent.
The house is ok for the price. Sliding door needs repairs and the track cleaned. The carpet needs to be shampooed or replaced and the baseboards in the bathrooms are dirty. Burnt countertop(poor design). Beds are comfortable and clean. Good location for our needs, super close to wineries. All in all, the place is a bit worn, nice deck in the back - zero view.
The Ranch is a beautiful home in a lovely Hood River neighborhood. It was a quick drive to both downtown and to several vineyards.
Close to everything; Mt Hood, Adams, Timberline, Hood River, the Gorge. Great place to stay. Unit had everything we needed. The deck/BBQ area was great. Thanks!
Nice home, conveniently located near town. Easy to drive, but not in walking distance. House layout was nice, bedrooms and back deck were nice. No real view from the deck because of the mature trees. They had everything you needed in the kitchen. The big drawback was the carpeting. It was very stained, and really ruined the appearance of the house. Otherwise it was a good experience.
Went for a family wedding. Great location, close to downtown and the river. House was well equipped, nice deck. The property management company was very responsive.
While the bathrooms and kitchen were clean, the carpet was very stained and dirty. The kitchen counter had burn marks from gas stove installed too closely. Some of the window blinds missing slats. Overall furnishings, very dated. The view was misrepresented in pictures. Overall, I would give this 3 stars. It needs some updating and TLC for the price.
This place was the perfect size for us. Everything was in working order. Love the deck, nice cross breeze. The only drawback is the view. Neighbor's trees blocks view of Mt Adams. Other than that we loved it.
Good communication, good overall experience!
Only a small view of Mt. Adams left after trees have grown. Very clean, beds comfy. Second bathroom extremely small.
The house was very clean and convenient to downtown. We were lucky our family lives 0.3miles from the house so we were able to walk to their house. We would have to like to sit out on the back porch but it rained the entire time we were in town, but it had a nice view. Have to setup accounts for the live TV which was a little confusing but that's the only issue I had. Would rent this location again.
