Stevenson, Washington
This Log Cabin is centrally located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. You will be taken in by the beauty of the craftsmanship as you step through the front door. The first floor is an open floor plan with living room area, kitchen, bathroom and the main floor bedroom. The upstairs is an open loft that is divided into two sleeping areas separated by the bathroom. In addition to the privacy, you also have the best of both worlds with convenient access to a grocery store, restaurants. breweries and access to the Columbia River Gorge. Downtown Stevenson, WA is less than two miles away. Hop across the Bridge of The Gods to Cascade Locks or cruise east to Hood River.
There is abundant wildlife in the area - Deer, bears, cougars, bobcats.
The dream of escaping into a wooded, scenic landscape with wildlife is completely fulfilled at this property where the sounds include birds singing and the scenery on all four sides is old growth forest. The log cabin is an architectural inspiration. The large heavy logs and wooded flooring enhance the outdoors sensation and create a warm and comfortable environment to relax in. The bed mattresses are firm which ensured a good night sleep. The quilted covers add to the ambience of the theme throughout. The furniture and the small corner wood stove and beautifully tiled hearth pad continue the theme of a house in the woods which is delightful. I loved the green kitchen countertop. Every detail, large and small, was carefully considered, organized, arranged and there was nothing lacking. Spacious would be an understatement. The loft was an added bonus wiith two sets of beds and dresser drawers on either side of a bathroom located between them. The bathrooms had bathtubs which guarantees a nice warm soak after being out in the cold staring at the stars that shine bright unimpeded by city lights. The landscaping enhanced the outdoor beauty and the outdoor seating provided ample opportunities to enjoy the views. This property is a gem and I thank the host for sharing it with guests and VRBO and Arrived for fast and friendly responsiveness to questions and professional management.
This cabin exceeded expectations for our family visit to the Columbia gorge! We had my in laws, husband, 12 y/o son, and myself, and the space was perfect. The view from the porch was breathtaking, the property itself is spacious and so peaceful, and close enough to everything you want to do. Stevenson is such a cute town with a great farmers market. We loved how on a clear night, you can see every star in the sky. The beds were cozy, a beautiful bear claw bathtub, laundry, nice layout, and all the nice touches of the animal cam, board games, and lots of blankets made the stay so cozy. We will definitely be back!
We really enjoyed our stay. The TV was a little difficult to figure out and there is only one shower but other than that it was just as described. We'll stay there again!
Very quiet, private and spacious cabin in the mountains! Very peaceful.
Beautiful cabin! Great location, very quiet.
Great, private setting. Quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, watching the birds, trees. We had everything we needed for our stay.
We spent the day fishing with old friends. We had a wondaful time with Derr in the yard and the remote but close proximity to town was 2nd to none. Fantastic cabin
I wasn’t going to give a review because of the infestation of stink bugs which only got worse the longer we were there. I notified Vacasa that they needed an exterminator before they rent it out again. It wouldn’t have been fair to rate the place poorly only because of the bugs. But the bugs nearly ruined our stay. As the weather warmed, the bugs increased and spread through the house. At night they were attracted to the lights in the house. I complained to Vacasa before we left and was told I would receive a $50 credit for what we went through. I have not received it yet. PLEASE don’t publish this!! Please respond, as I’m not sure anyone is paying attention. Thank you PS: A bottle of Pledge cleaning fluid was left on a table in the living room, we noticed on arrival. Instructions for the dishwasher were left ( there was no dishwasher!). Only one of the 3 entertainment remotes seemed to work. We were never able to adjust the volume on the TV because the working remote didn’t have a volume control and we couldn’t find a volume button on the TV!! Why so many bath towels but only ONE wash cloth for the entire stay??
There were bugs everywhere. I killed over 20 beetles in a hour. I was woken up one night from them crawling on my face. Property manager offered to vacuum them up for me but didn’t offer refund or any sort of discount. I wish I wasn’t exaggerating.
Beautiful views, gorgeous home and extremely well appointed! Didn’t want to leave!
Location was great. Cabin layout and design was very comfortable. There was a significant presence/infestation of brown stink bugs on the porches and at all windows. Better quality of window frame/screens would allow for opening windows and improve quality of stay.
In a great town
Great Property. Beyond what we expected. Only thing I would ask that you change is to put a shower in the upstairs bathroom. Being at the property far surpasses the pictures. Quiet, restful, scenery extraordinary, facilities absolutely wonderful. Everything provided that you could possibly want.
This cabin’s location was perfect for us. Just about 5 minutes up the mountain from the grocery store, but with a rural, private setting. We loved that the property was gated and we felt protected from the critters. We took advantage of the big porch in the evenings. We had easy access to Oregon and the Gorge.
The cabin was huge! The master bedroom downstairs was so roomy for both my husband and I. There are 4 twin/ double sized beds in the upstairs loft. The upstairs full bathroom only had a tub so we are showered downstairs but the tub was perfect for a nice long hot soak. Kitchen was very well equipped with lots of appliances and there was a nice separate laundry room. The living room had 2 very comfy couches and the dining room table was big enough for lots of meals with friends. Only complaints: 1. Upstairs bathroom door doesn’t close all the way. 2. Flooring upstairs next to the bathroom was warped so we tripped a couple times. 3. A/C was not strong enough to cool down the house. Upstairs was VERY hot
Gorgeous cabin and property. Great location for views, privacy, and short driving distance to town. Lots of options for sitting areas, inside and out. Very clean and comfy. Highly recommend.
This cabin was perfect for our trip. Remote yet safe due to the security cameras and locked gate. It had everything we needed and was comfortable and spacious. The beds were so comfortable and we enjoyed the board games. It was located close to all the sights and activities that we wanted to see and do while on vacation. Thank you for a perfect stay.
Overall the property was amazing- check in process was clearly copied and pasted from another home. There was a locked gate that you needed a code to get to the property that was a surprise to me and your point of contact. No dishwasher and no garbage can that we were supposed to use as part of checkout. Just need to update your check in and checkout info. awesome house
My friends and I were all very impressed with the location and property. The cabin was well stocked, very clean, comfy, and suited all our needs for a girls weekend. Definitely highly recommend!
Lovely place. Had a good family time!
Stunning log vacation home, secluded, clean, nicely furnished and comfortable.
Cabin was well appointed; it had everything we needed and more. It was in a great location - not far from hiking trails and other attractions. Our kids, ages 4-9, loved it!
