Perfect Getaway - Cozy Cottage in The Galena Territory

Its a beautiful split lever property. Unfortunately one of us was bedroom-bound for 12 hours. But so relaxing. She was able to take a bubble bath & read her book until she felt better, without hindering the rest of us. ...there's another full bath downstairs, she took the upstairs. With the kitchen downstairs the house is well set up to unload your vehicle to the entery to then disburse thru out the home. Had plenty of supplies to get the fireplace going. Very nice!!

Clean property, even nicer in person, would stay again.

We did our annual girls weekend here and was absolutely so peaceful and beautiful! We went to Galena for a little bit, but spent most of our time at the house. They had everything there for us even the games. At night, the sky was beautiful all you could see were the stars! And it’s very spacious. I would recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely be back 🤗

Property is very clean and well maintained. Even had a just in case you forgot something in the lower level master bath. The fireplace wall is absolutely beautiful.

Lovely, warm, clean and inviting place. Everything we needed to prepare meals was provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the wildlife. It was peaceful and quiet, we will definitely return.Sarah was wonderful! Quick to respond and a pleasure to work with.

It was a wonderful stay! Everything was so well organized and explained, we never had any questions unanswered. Beautiful home and situation. We loved the fireplace, huge tub and excellent bedrooms. Thank you for such a lovely experience!

The home was absolutely perfect for our girls weekend. The beds were extremely comfortable. The bed lines and towels were very nice. It was wonderful to have some bathroom products provided.

This place was so amazing! My husband and I loved staying here. It was very clean and comfortable. There were instructions everywhere on how to work everything. I only wish that there were a few more windows with curtains but that’s personal preference. I would come back to this property again no problem.

House was nice and as pictured. We only stayed one night but will definitely keep it in mind for future stays.

The house was super clean and very cozy. Everything was clearly marked with directuons. The host even had extras of supplies in case we forgot anything. I would definitely stay here again!

My only complaint is that we only stayed 1 night. I cannot say enough good things about this whole process of booking, communication, fast responses, very helpful and accommodating. The house was perfect, beautiful, set up wonderful for a VRBO. Every part of the house was well thought out and offered anything you can think of that you might have forgotten. Bathroom and kitchen offered everything you could think of from hair ties, toothbrush, antacids to emergency cell phone. Tv service was awesome and my 11 year old was happy to find Hulu, utube and we watched some family movies. Loved having washer and dryer to use as we had to dry some clothes that got wet. The fireplace was beautiful and plenty of wood offered. Even the beds were super comfortable. I can’t say enough also about Sarah’s communication and assistance and answering any questions we had about the area and house very quickly. Even let us go back in after. Checkout to quickly get a Stanley cup that was left. I grabbed the card with Sarah’s information to hopefully stay there again and bring more family in the summer to use the beautiful outside area and screened in porch. My daughter says it is the best place we have ever stayed. Thank you for making it a special family girls weekend.

Very brief stay, as we were only in town for one night for a wedding. Would have liked to have more time to enjoy the house and area. Did not use any of the local or house amenities.

Everything about this property was perfect for us. I stayed here with my sister, two daughters and my niece. Perfect amount of space for all of us and cleanliness and aesthetic appeal was top-notch! Living room area was great for all of us to cuddle up and watch a nice fall movie. Couch was very comfortable. We also appreciated the games that were at the house ready for us to play. We played at the dining room table and the screened in porch as well, which is a nice addition to the property. The owners thought of every little detail. Extra hair ties when we needed them, even a nail file. I would absolutely stay here again. Hoping to come back next summer for a longer stay and to use more of the many amenities at the owners club. Great place.. a beautiful, quiet, home away from home.

Everything was perfect. The house beautiful. The bedrooms and beds perfect. Anything you needed was there. If you forgot something small it was there. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook. When we come back to Galena this is tge place I want to stay at.Mike & Wanda

We loved our stay at this place. It was nice and intimate for us and our friends, but super close to the downtown area. I loved the check-in process, it was made easy by the hosts and they were on top of communication with us.

Very nice property and location. One issue was listing stated there was a grill; the grill was more like a small hibachi, which was dirty AND there was no propane to power it. I had no problem cleaning the grill to use it, but when we called the manager, we were told to go get our own fuel for the grill…not cool. We had brought some steaks to grill and it kind of ruined our dinner plans. If you don’t have a grill, just say so. I could have brought my own portable grill, but if youlist it, provide it.

The house at first seemed lovely and well organized. We found later that it could really use a deep clean as being in a pet friendly vrbo has never upset my allergies before but this one it was hard to sit on the couch or touch the bedspread without getting itchy. The host did ask if she minded interrupting our vacation to drop by and leave something for the house. We thought it was intrusive but figured it couldn't be avoided so we agreed. She ended up not coming, but then the day that we departed our check out time was 11 am. At 11:12 we had our luggage packed up and were checking off items on her check out list stripping beds, etc. A woman pounded on the door, then came in yelling that check out was at 11 am. My husband said something like, I'm sorry we'll be about 10 minutes. My daughter was terrified and my son asked why she was so angry. We didn't have much wifi in the Galena territory, so I didn't see her email, VRBO message and voicemal until we had already left and were almost in Elizabeth IL. The same woman that came in the house and yelled called and wanted to know what the delay was and wanted to know when we were able to leave, and that check out was 11 and that she has a cleaning team standing by. My husband called back and explained that we had left a while ago and were gone by11:30 just like we told the cleaning lady we would be. She then sent us a bill from her fictitional cleaning team for 20 for being 30 minutes late. Dont stay here

Clean spacious and comfortable

We took grandchildren to Galena for a couple of days for a getaway. We wanted a facility that our granddaughter and grandson could each have their own room. This rental was perfect for that every time I had a question I immediately heard back from Sarah. The place was clean and met our needs perfectly. The neighborhood was very nice and it was easy to check into. I would recommend this rental.

My family and I enjoyed staying in this well appointed cottage. I’m a clean freak, and was impressed by the inside of the place…it was clean and comfortable. I loved the crisp white bed sheets and fluffy pillows which made for some good sleeping. Will plan to stay again!

The home was the most organized and best stocked rental we have stayed at. There was “extra” consumables, general OTC meds, and utensils.Nearly everything has either a small, easy to read label or instruction or a QR code that opens a video or manual. It is impressive how much thought was put into viewing the home from a guest’s perspective.The home’s cleanliness was very good. The corners and under beds were all clean, it was refreshing.

This was the perfect house for our family weekend getaway. From the start we felt right at home. The house itself was spacious yet cozy, very clean, and well-equipped. It had everything we needed from the comfortable bedrooms to the fully stocked kitchen, and a cozy living area with fireplace that made for a perfect movie night.The neighborhood was perfect for our morning walk and the area was just right for star-gazing. The host was also very responsive and helpful, providing us with all the info we needed before our stay. I would highly recommend this beautiful home.

5 High School friends together for a night of chatting, food, drinks & shopping!We reminisced and had so much fun catching up! Shopping downtown Galena was the perfect Saturday!The Vrbo was just perfect for what we wanted and needed! Very clean and such a quiet location!

A group of 5 came to visit Galena, and this house fit us perfectly. It was only a one night stay, but this house was so comfortable and cozy, which is exactly what we were hoping for. The neighborhood was quaint and quiet, and we enjoyed seeing the wildlife in the timber out back. This house is gorgeous, the pictures don't do it justice. Highly recommend.

My friends and I were in town for a bachelorette weekend and had an amazing stay! The house was easy to access, clean and perfect for what we needed! Everything was well labeled with detailed instructions so we had no confusion! There were extra supplies provided in the bathroom and kitchen for a few item we forgot. Overall 10/10! If and when I come back to Galena I willl absolutely stay here again!
