Lovely home on a quiet street; the neighborhood is very walkable. Do be aware that there are stairs up to the bedrooms that could be difficult for some to navigate and the only bathroom is downstairs. We very much enjoyed looking out at the water from the front room. Mike was a friendly, communicative host - it’s obvious that he loves the area and takes pride in what it has to offer. The house met our needs just perfectly to use as a base for exploring the area

The house was very clean and accurately described in the listing. We appreciated that all the bedding and towels were included and of high quality. We thought the location was perfect for exploring the greater Rhode Island area. Not far from central Newport and easy travels to Providence and outlying areas. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.

The host was very accommodating. Cottage layout was a bit quirky. Unfortunately, it was abit too chilly to use the patio and grill in the backyard; but, it did look very nice.I would come back again during the warmer months. I was enthralled with the location and the view from the front is spectacular.

We loved the home, the neighborhood and convenient location. Excellent communication with our hosts. They kept us up to date and in contact with us to ensure we had everything that we needed. We had absolutely everything we needed. Would stay here again!!

The house was in a lovely location with a gorgeous view of the cove. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the host was very communicative, reachable, and friendly. Great stay in a great place!

The place is old. The couch felt like you were sitting on the floor. The seats were turned around and we hated to see what was on the other side of the seat. My girlfriend had an asthma attack because of all the dust in the place. I don't think they washed the curtains in a double year of Sundays. The BBQ was caked with filthy BBQ remains. It took me forever to clean it. I left it in clean good condition. The backyard deck was nice to sit on but there was a huge lump that is a tripping hazard. There were no closets to hang your clothing. I spread my clothing on a board in my bedroom where I placed my plastic bags down. The one little dresser was totally unacceptable and dirty inside. I wouldn't put my dirty laundry in there. My girlfriend lived out of her suitcase. There was a suspicion that someone entered the unit because a lightbulb was changed to a brighter one in the bathroom and the kitchen air conditioner was on a warmer setting we had originally put it on because of her asthma attack. Fans were used to circulate the air conditioner downstairs and in the bedrooms. My friend's bedroom only had a fan. Beds were as old as the house including the sheets used. Thank goodness the weather was beautiful and we went to three different beaches. The closes to the house was filled with seaweed (because of hurricane Erin; the second beach was filled with rocks; and the third beach called First Beach was beautiful. No seaweed and no rocks. Cast 25 to park.

Quiet location with water views. Great location for exploring. We drove to Providence, Newport, and Mystic with ease. Mike was a nice host, easy communication & check in.

My teens and I had a peaceful and relaxing visit. The space was as described. I did discover the large mattresses were both very soft, so if you need back support, the twins are much more firm. The back yard is perfect for cooking out and family dinner. My teens loved being able to take a boat out, and we discovered walking trails nearby perfect for walking the dog. There are many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Grafik coffee is excellent and it was also a quick drive to Newport. All in all a very enjoyable stay at a much needed time in our life.

Very cute area. Wonderful for kids! A short walk down the street to a playground and 10 min walk or 2 min drive to a small local beach that you can bring dogs as well.

We had a great time

It was very clean and a nice, cozy space. The owners are great with communication but non-invasive, which is always good. We had a little snowfall and the owner shoveled around our car and was very thorough! The location was quiet and the marsh view looking out the big bay window is pretty. It was a great little, yet spacious house to stay with our dog. He had plenty of space to play with his toys. Everything was clean and neat. It's an older home but well taken care of and works out really well with a dog! The price was very reasonable. There's a nice trail that runs along the marsh at the end of the street - great for walking your best friend. The surrounding streets are well lit at night and there's a nice field with playground just around the corner. We would highly recommend Mike & Marqy's place for a couple with a dog or a child or just a couple's peaceful getaway.

It was exactly what I was looking for. Dogs are allowed, the pet fee and rules are very reasonable. The property was as described with plenty of amenities and the best part was the water right across the street with the living room bay window being a literal window that overlooks the bay! I enjoyed the view very much and was sad when it was time to depart. The closest beach is walking distance. Lots of stores and food in the area so no need to drive too far. Overall an excellent place to stay.

We completely enjoyed our stay! Now with children in high school and college, our schedules don’t always mesh, so when we found we had a few days off in January at the same time, we jumped on finding somewhere in a nearby state that we could drive to easily since we were traveling with our dog. We chose RI, as we never been there before, and we are so happy we did. The cottage was clean and spacious and well equipped. Just a quick hop in the car and we were near something for everyone to enjoy. The landlord was wonderful and helpful and the only thing we would change would have been the weather! We can’t wait to book again in the warmer weather with longer daylight so we can explore and adventure some more! This getaway (whether for the weekend or longer, for a winter break from cabin fever at home or a well earned vacation from daily life), is a perfect place with lovely water views to enjoy some of Rhode Island’s beauty and diversity! So much to do, so much to see. Definitely would recommend booking this property!

Portsmouth is a beautiful place and the views are amazing The host was very friendly the house was a great experience and we have already talked about a return

The house was very clean and comfortable, kid, teen and dog friendly.One of the upstairs rooms was large enough to set up a toddler cot and/or a pack and play.

The property is just as described, very clean, spacious, and equipped with anything you’ll need to prepare meals. Beautiful location, short walk to a great beach all at a very reasonable price. This was the third time we rented this property and are looking forward to doing so again.

This cottage was perfect for our stay for a swim meet held at Brown. It was exactly as described with great communication - check in was easy and we were able to check out later making it much less stressful. Would love to return in the warmer months! Thank you!

This VRBO in Portsmouth was the perfect location! Tons of things to do in a very close proximity. Very friendly neighborhood, coffee shops, and markets. Walkable to the beach and coffee shops. Mike was a great host and very quick to respond via email/text. Will definitely stay here again if ever in the area!

My friends absolutely love the place. They were originally local haven’t been here in years, but it was a great spot between Bristol Tiverton, Providence Newport.

Perfect base for us to explore Rhode Island. Very comfortable. Big kitchen. Beautiful view of the water and boats out the front window. Wifi worked great. Beds were comfortable. Bedrooms are all upstairs and bathroom is downstairs. The owner, Mike, lives next door and was very nice. Check-in super easy – just walk in the front door!

We stayed for two weeks in this property. Everything worked great and all the necessary supplies were available. It's a great location for visiting all around that part of RI--half an hour to Newport, Little Compton, Providence. The manager was very responsive and gave us fresh towels halfway through. There is a lot of seating on the back deck. The only thing to watch out for is that there are a lot of coyotes in the area, so you will want to be careful if walking a small dog.
