This was our second stay at this property and we are simply enchanted. We spent the majority of our days and evenings on the patio, taking in the beautiful mountain views, playing with our pups, and unplugging. The house itself is comfortable and well-equipped. If you are looking for a home away from home, this is it. We will be back!
It felt so much like coming to visit a long lost relative. There was planty of rooom to sleep. The kids loved the bedroom to themselves. The location is nice and private. We enjoyed sipping coffee while watcing the sun rise. Wild turkeys rome free and the location was in the middle of everything... just 6 short miles for the Blueridge Parkway. If it weren't for the lack of AC I'd have given the place a 5 stars. WE loved it here! Thank you!
Very impressed with the house! Beautiful mountain view but still close to downtown. The house had plenty of space, was clean, and had everything we needed :)
The house was cozy and had a lot of space! The yard toys were a blast. The property is close to hiking, dining, shopping, and the parkway. Check In was easy. The view in the morning was breath taking. I highly recommend.
The house was so easy to find (always a plus) as it was minutes from lots of activity BUT incredibly private and quiet. The setting was just perfect for Fall leaf looking and gathering on one of the porches for family time.
What an incredible place for our family to gather! Gorgeous Mountain View’s, a lovely lawn for the dogs to play, cozy living space and ample sleeping spaces tucked in everywhere. My only complaint was too short of a stay. I could have curled up on the rocking chair on the covered patio and relaxed with a cocktail, a good book, and the incredible view for days!
The house is exactly as it is listed and we found it perfect for our trip. As an added bonus, much of the home had elements that were similar to those of my grandparents which just made the trip more enjoyable.
Clean, comforting home with all the amenities you’ll need. This older country home sits on a steep piece of land with homes at a distance above and below. The home is plenty large for an adult family of five and a dog and would accommodate many more. The upstairs porch was too cold for any of us to stay on, so we used the two bedrooms downstairs and bedroom 3 right above the stairs. Plenty of bathrooms and space to relax and cook. The basement has many yard games and ping pong. We brought our dog and kept her on the leash due to the steep dropoffs in the back yard. The yard is plenty large enough so I’m sure she would have been fine. :). All beds had fresh sheets and towels for each guest. Roy called to ensure everything was great the next morning and it was. We did have to drive about 30 minutes everywhere we wanted to go, but the views are nice so it made for a nice drive. For a peaceful, secluded time with family or friends this is the perfect place. We’d stay again!
This house is spacious and works well for multiple families to get together. We had a great time! The house is old and not updated, and the upstairs is cold in the winter. But it is clean and in working order, and the property and the view are just gorgeous. Great for a quiet budget getaway.
This turned out to be a great place for our family Thanksgiving trip with two dogs and two small children. (Pet-friendly rentals are limited, so we appreciated Fletcher House allowing us to bring the pups!) The house is older, as indicated in the listing information, but with the exception of the downstairs shower, everything was in good working order, clean, and comfortable. I was pleased to find such a well-stocked kitchen since we were not only making regular meals, but a Thanksgiving dinner. Rentals typically have minimal kitchen amenities, but there was a great selection of kitchen items here. The house is also well-stocked with trash bags and cleaning supplies, which was very helpful and appreciated. The rural location meant a drive into Asheville for attractions. It took us about 20 minutes to drive to the Biltmore, but it was a relatively easy drive, as was the trip to one of the area falls off the Blue Ridge Parkway. The location and property were great for our pups and our two grandsons, ages six and two. The house is one of several at the end of a rural road and private drive, so the only traffic was residents and guests. Fletcher House has a nice big yard, which was great for the pups and our grandsons, ages six and two. We took lots of long walks and played in the yard. There's no fence around the yard, and since the house sits up on a hill, there are pretty steep drop-offs on one side of the yard. So we had to keep a close eye on the little ones, but it wasn't a problem. In addition to a well-stocked kitchen, the host has provided lots of other helpful detailed amenities which were nice, such as flashlights (it's pretty dark out in the country!), extra jackets, games and movies for families. And our six-year-old grandson enjoyed learning to play ping pong in the basement. I believe it may be stated in the property description, but the upstairs has no heat. That turned out to not be an issue for us, as we didn't need the upstairs bedrooms (some family who had planned to come weren't able to make it). We were there over Thanksgiving week when temps were in the 50s-60s and down in the 30s-40s at night. And it did get fairly chilly upstairs. That might be a consideration for some families. But the house did have an adequate supply of blankets and extra cover. All in all, we had a great stay at Fletcher House and it worked well for our family and our trip! Thank you, Roy, for a great stay!
