Peaceful Home | Pool & Steps to Beach/Dining

The location of the home was spectacular! We walked to Tigertail beach almost everyday. The house worked well for the 7 of us. The pool was especially warm and large. The host answered questions and problems immediately. We loved our stay!

Master bed on one side of the house with its own bathroom and door to the pool. The 3 bedrooms on the other side worked well for our 4 kids. Definetly needs updating decor wise, lots of dark furniture and fake plants. And the cleaning service did not do a good job as we found items from previous people under beds and in couches. The pool was very nice. The house came with pool toys, a nice sized cooler, boogie boards etc. Kitchen was pretty well stocked. There storage room for unrefrigerated food as all the cabinets are full and the pantry is locked, so we had stuff stacked everywhere. There were a few minor issues, but the property manager was very responsive and quick to send maintenance out to resolve the issues. The one thing that was a big annoyance is that I had read on prior reviews about the heavy smell of mothballs. I emailed with the property manager prior to our arrival because we do have a child who is super sensitive to smells and has adverse reactions. I was told that they had remedied the issue, but when we arrived the mothball smell was very noticeable. We opened all the doors and turned on all the ceiling fans while we were unloading our car and that helped a lot, but we couldn’t completely get rid of the smell. It was worst in the guest room with the queen bed, and upon searching, we found a tub of what appeared to be sheets under the bed that smelled very badly. We took the tub outside and left it on the covered part of the lanai for the remainder of the trip and that solved the issue. Nice location but the “quick walk” to Tigertail Beach is a 10 minute walk to the lagoon beach, but then another 10-15 minutes walk around the lagoon to get to the “real” beach. Way too far with little kids and all the gear. We only did that once. Avoid the recommended restaurants, they were all so busy they wouldn’t even take take our orders. Small things like a burned out light in shower certainly did not take away from a great week!

First of all, the property group was very quick to get back to us when we had questions or requests and they made the check in and check out process very easy. That being said, the house needs a deep cleaning, power washing and remediation of whatever issue they’re trying to resolve with excessive moth balls. When we opened the windows, the window sills were black with dirt and bugs. There were spider webs and spiders dangling all over the screened in porch. So much so, that we had to spend a hour of our time swatting them down with a broom and spraying with bug spray. The most disappointing part was the moth ball smell. We requested that the moth balls be removed and they were, but the smell was so strong - we had headaches from it. There is obviously an underlying issue/reason for the moth balls. That underlying issue needs to be remediated for the comfort and health of future guests.

Good location.Suggestions for improvements:) Please remove mothball storage boxes from under beds....very bad odour in bedrooms and dangerous for kids!Please buy some new knives as all current ones are VERY DULL.Also, a broom and new floor mop would be useful to keeping floors clean for renters.All in all tho very practical home. Also the booking agency is super responsive and takes good care of you!

The location of the house is great . The house needs to be updated , and is in need of a real good cleaning .

Overall Mesmerized with our stay! Let me start with the centric location of this beautiful house. Very close to tiger tail beach and a short drive away to winterberry beach. Restaurants of all kinds within the vicinity of the house and an enchanting neighborhood to take a walk in the early mornings. The beach experience is indescribably amazing. Very clean, calm and quiet beaches, but the main highlight are the astonishing sunsets. I am very happy and satisfied for choosing Marco Island as our vacation destination especially this warm cozy home. My wife and kids are already asking when we will be coming back… it seems like we will be coming back very soon!

The pool area is very nice with plenty of sun on the pool and shady areas for lunch or lounging. Four bedrooms provide lots of room for family and/or friends.

The property managers were great to work with and very customer focused. We would rent with them again.We would NOT, however, go thru AirBnb again. We originally rented the house with the understanding from the website that we could cancel up to November 29. I did not review the contract AFTER we had rented the home to discover that we only had 14 days to cancel for a full refund! We had family coming from Brazil who could not get U.S. Visas until March, so attempted to cancel before 11/29. Imagine my surprise to find that our refund would have been $112 instead of $2,207 minus fees!We will NEVER rent thru AirBNB again but would rent from Marco Island Vacation Properties any time!
