The house is let as a whole, with one double and two twin bedrooms. There is a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining room with a lovely open plan sitting room with a log stove. There is a new hard tennis court you can use, and fishing is often available during May, June & July.
Dalmigavie lies at 1200 ft, and is surrounded by miles of empty 'Monahdliath Mountains'. There is a long track from the house up the glen and then into the hills. During the Spring when birds are nesting, weask guests to avoid walking on the open hill, especially with dogs. Almost every British bird of prey has been seen at Dalmigavie. David and Lorna Paton, look after everything at Dalmigavie, and have been there for 25 years. They live in a cottage close by.

Dalmigavie is 6 miles off the A9 near Tomatin. It is 40 minutes from Inverness airport, and 20 minutes from the station at Carrbridge. Two hours from Edinburgh. A car is needed, and the last 100m to the house is up a steep vehicular track. There are several good golf courses in the vicinity. The coast is 45 minutes away. The weather can be wild and cold, or warm and balmy, sometimes on successive days!

House rules: No dogs allowed in the house accept by prior arrangement. No smoking.
Dogs to be kept on leads outside (sheep, deer, red squirrels) and nesting birds in the Spring - woodcock, curlew, oyster catchers, green plovers, grouse, amongst others.

Please treat the house, grounds, river and hills with care and respect. Once you cross our bridge over the river Findhorn into Dalmigavie estate you enter a little world of your own.

If you enjoy fishing, you can take a day or two of salmon fishing on 4 miles of the Findhorn at Dalmigavie at a cost of £55 per day. Rods are not provided. Let us know in advance in case it is already booked. We can take up to 4 rods at a time.

We couldn't have better things to say about this property. The drive in is a little tricky and small but beautiful. Goats everywhere, deer at dusk, peasants. It was the best. The cottage was comfy and cozy, we each had our own bathrooms which was so nice after staying in cramped hotels during our trip. We want to come again in a few years and highly recommend!

Quiet, peaceful, serene, beautiful slice of heaven in Scotland. The cottage had plenty of space, everything we needed & then some. Spacious rooms, great gathering place in the living room, all the amenities we needed. The host & managers were very nice, helpful, offering tips for walks, visits into town & more. Plenty of wildlife on walks of the property & great place to just soak in the views with your morning tea. Tomatin is a quaint, small Scottish town with a nice distillery & a cafe/store. We hope to return here in the future.

This was a perfect place for us to explore the area around Inverness. It is a bit of a drive, but well worth it for the beauty and serenity. The property had everything we needed. Comfortable beds; well provisioned. The only caution is finding it the first time. The instructions provided by the owners are detailed and accurate, but we still missed the turn and had to turn around (which is difficult on a narrow single track road!). Once we crossed the private bridge to the property, we still searched for the house because it is nicely positioned higher on the hill. Be prepared for a sharp turn and a steep incline to get to the house. Having the picture from the listing really helped. Once you find it the first time, you will be set!We would strongly recommend this property.

Stayed for three days to get away from it all and this place met all of our expectations. Surrounded by beautiful countryside right on the Findhorn river, nature all around us. Had the most relaxing time. The house is large but cozy, comfortable in every way, the bed we slept in, in the main room was the most comfortable I have ever slept in so had a good restful sleep. Host was lovely, discreet, and helpful. We would love to come back again.

This property was simply amazing. The house has a lived in, homey feel and the views are breathtaking. We had a heard of local deer right outside our windows in the morning, and the property gives lots of opportunities for exploration with fishing and bikes right on the premises. We definitely hope to be back to this property in the future!

Very cozy place with a spectacular view of the valley. Nice and quiet with deer roaming the property. Close enough to Inverness but far enough in the countryside to relax.

Great location, stunning views and a very cozy living room. It was clean and warm and having an evening fire after a long walk in the woods felt like home. Would absolutely return.

The house was cozy, warm, and big enough to spread out in. And it’s situated on a beautiful property - just gorgeous and so inviting for exploring. The owner came up to meet us the night we arrived - very nice and accommodating.

The cottage is at an extremely picturesque location. Lorna was very helpful and friendly. The cottage is up the hill which is a little pushed away. But if you are looking for a quiet getaway this is the place for you. The views from the house are spectacular. We really loved our stay. The place was very clean and well equipped. Definitely recommend it.

We really enjoyed the beautiful views. We had an extra surprise late one evening with about 12 deer in the front yard. For those not familiar with ticks, info about that would be helpful for future guests. We also had some trouble with the written directions to the cottage - it mentioned then end of the wall when in fact you had to turn right at the sign and the wall continued on.

My wife, myself and our adult son stayed at the cottage for a few days. We absolutely loved it. The house was immaculate, and the surrounding property was equally impressive. Upon booking our stay, I didn’t realize that we would be able to roam about on thousands? of acres freely. We climbed the hill behind the cottage and enjoyed an afternoon in the high country. Saw lots of wildlife, and were taken back by the number of pheasants about. Of course, the lambs were adorable. Deer could be seen from the kitchen window in the evening. Our host, Lorna, dropped by briefly and gave us an orientation as well as offering us mountain bikes and other recreational options. Highest recommendation!
