Nice and comfy Home
We spent 1O days at this lake property for the New Year. Everything was as stated in the description. The property was clean, well cared for and had everything we needed. We rented a boat and fished, hiked, relaxed and enjoyed the non-busy, old Florida atmosphere of Dunnellon. It was cool but sunny every day. We cooked and thoroughly enjoyed the home. Had everything we needed for a relaxing get-away! John, the property owner, was great to work with.
A very nice, simple place for family and friends to enjoy outdoors and local conveniences. The lake view is lovely but with the growth of some grassy water plant, fishing was impossible unless you boat away from the dock. With so little food delivery and restaurants near, you should plan to do a good deal of cooking so, if you are picky about kitchen gear, bring your favorites. We ordered a blender and waffle iron from nearby walmart as well as a casserole set for lasagna one eve. Will also recommend bringing your own pool towels there are a few, but more like thin gym towels. For a group of 4/6 the overall house towel supply is light. Plan on doing laundry daily. Would definitely visit again, with a few more provisions in tow. Hopefully these details will help you enjoy your stay more as well!
We had an amazing time at “Paradise Found”. Despite a rainy week, we still managed to make a ton of memories kayaking, fishing, tubing down the rainbow river, swimming in the heated salt water pool, and even checking out neighboring towns! John was always very responsive and helpful. The home was exactly as described which we fully enjoyed!
My husband and myself, and our best friends, another couple, stayed at “Paradise Found” for almost a week. All of us are around 60. The property was a good design for handicap accessibility. The property is beautiful. The Cypress trees with the moss were lovely. The house was supplied with everything you need, just bring your groceries. We spent a lot of time in the screened in patio area. There is a tv out there as well, but the picture didn’t work, only the sound. We swam a little every day, but the pool was quite chilly. John (owner) controls it through an app and it is supposed to be 82 degrees. We didn’t test it, but we guessed it was in the low to mid seventies. It felt about like the Rainbow Springs we visited, which is 72 degrees. This shouldn’t be an issue if you visit later in the summer. We were going to use the kayaks, but they were the ones you have to sit inside. They were a little small, so we opted for the canoe. We enjoyed paddling around the lake. Take mosquito spray, you will need it. They have plenty of games, horseshoes, fishing supplies. We saw two different young gators near the dock. Take a lantern or flashlights for the dock at night. We could never get the lights to work. I recommend kayaking on the Rainbow River. We used Rainbow River Kayak Adventures. They were great. The kayak trip took about 3.5 hours. Beautiful River. We would definitely recommend Paradise Found.
We recently spent a week at this property and found it hard to leave. Everything was as expected or better. John was extremely good to work with and communicated well throughout. We would definitely stay again! Great central location to a lot of nearby attractions. Very peaceful. The screened room in back and the pool are perfect!
This remote home is on a lake full of bass and other fish. The wildlife is amazing and the trees and greenery are gorgeous. The owner allows you to use their kayaks and canoe to really enjoy the water. Rainbow springs is close by and the water is crystal clear. There is a nice fire pit also.
Waking up and looking out over a beautiful lake view made it really hard to leave this property. We went during the coldest Christmas in 30 years but it was noticeably in this warm and accommodating home. Looking so forward to visiting again.
This house is very clean and livable for a family of six or several friends for any length of stay. Plenty of room inside the house or out in the screened in patio next to the pool. And a good size back yard for the kids to play in. The fire pit is a nice added feature too, as well as the covered boat dock right there on the lake. Overall, the house is very well maintained, clean and roomy. We really enjoyed our stay there for over a week. And the property owner is very easy to work with and ensured that our stay was enjoyable. We recommend staying here.
The property was very clean and comfortable. The backyard was amazing and the most relaxing setting you can imagine. Truly the best part of untouched part of Florida I have ever experienced. Everything is within a short drive 10-12 minutes. So much to see and experience. Thank you for the amazing stay! Yury.
Let me start by saying owner is nice and communicates very well. The property is nice, I just want to be thorough and the owner can not control some of the things I will discuss. 1) There must be several rental places next to property and those tennants were NOISY and full of Fbombs. We also had random residents show up unannounced nor invited and drinking is obviously a favorite past time. 2) Be prepared for speeding cars and bass boats. There is kind of a blind spot pulling out of property and people absolutely fly down that small road. Close call several times, especially with a boat trailer. Not sure where you would park an RV? On the lake, speeding bass boats everywhere on a heavily pressured lake. I found out there is a tournament last weekend of EVERY month. 3) Cove where house resides is little more than a swamp. Boat house was nice, bring ant spray for your boat, mine was covered in them somehow 1st day. 4) Gators and stumps everywhere, so be cautious. 5) Taking baths in both bathrooms simultaneously can be tricky with hot/cold water. Overall we had a good time. House was well furnished, pool was nice, especially for kids. We probably will look elsewhere in the future due to above mentioned elements.
Lovely cozy home with a great backyard overlooking a lake. Very clean and comfortable for a multi-generational family of 7. Easy drive to a lovely beach, close to Rainbow Spring and Crystal River, and a pretty pool that is screened in when you want to stay home.
Wonderful vacation spot for family getaway. Very relaxing and would definitely come back in future.
