Apalachicola, Florida
Full water views from nearly every room will take your breath away. Clean, contemporary and so peaceful 3/2 with two marble baths, all set in a private wooded bay-front location.
The home is scrupulously cleaned and disinfected between guests. Of course, all bed linens - including duvets - and shower curtains are washed each time and we build in buffer time between guests for your protection.
Designed to be eco-friendly with power and hot water generated by the Florida sun (supplemented by the grid when the sun goes down), so you can feel good as you watch the nesting osprey and leaping mullet. It's impossible to describe the beauty of sunrises to the east and sunsets to the west - each day brings new beauty. And you can arrange in town for fishing excursions or eco-tours by local guides.
The unique House Beautiful design features an open core with bedroom wings to each side. Both master and guest suites have sliding glass doors that open to patios. In fact, the house has eight glass doors facing the water so you can live in climate-controlled comfort whilst enjoying the beauty of the outdoors.
Furnished in a clean, contemporary style with a baby grand piano, nice linens, Bose bluetooth small speaker, Samsung smart-TV and luxurious quiet.
It's a pleasant walk to the downtown area straight down a residential avenue. And a wood-burning fireplace gives terrific ambiance during winter months.
The little town of Apalachicola has claimed the title of oyster capital of the world for years. As the oyster industry has suffered, the town folk have opened boutiques and restaurants to share their Southern hospitality with the world. Enjoy art galleries, gelato, good coffee, fresh-caught seafood expertly prepared, our local brewery and chocolatier.
Location was perfect for bird watching and getting to downtown. Faye responded quickly to all of our questions and is an excellent host. We will be back.
The house was great and wildlife was very entertaining. The location was close to town without being right in it. For us it was centrally located for things we like to do. State parks are close by and no problem finding a place to eat.
Incredible house, setting, location, views, stargazing, birds, dolphins, host... Thank you, Faye, for making our visit a memorable one!
We stayed at this bay front property in Apalachicola for a month. The house is in a secluded area right outside the historic area. One can walk or bike downtown to the historic district. The home was spotless. Really loved the open concept and with the many windows and doors you felt like you were outside. Bird lovers will love this property. Bald eagles were spotted regularly in a nearby tree. The bedrooms are conveniently on opposite sides of the house. Very convenient to all of the restaurants and attractions that Apalachicola offers. The beaches on St. George Island are about 15 - 20 minutes away. Beautiful sunrises from the property. If you want to watch or film a beautiful sunset we would recommend the Seafood Landing park about a mile west of the property. Faye was very responsive and helpful in getting us access to even more TV channels. However, we were disappointed that the dock was destroyed by Hurricane Michael in 2018 and has not yet been replaced. Overall, a very nice quiet comfortable setting for a relaxing vacation.
My husband and I stayed at this beautiful and relaxing property for a month. If you want a wonderful ocean vacation without the massive crowds, you should definitely consider this place. Faye is an excellent and responsive host. The view is spectacular!
We stayed the month of March in this large, well appointed home situated on Apalachicola Bay. The home is tiled throughout with two good sized bedroom suites. There is a third smaller room with a daybed. The home was impeccably cleaned which is very important for those of us who suffer allergies. (The home is pet free and smoke free.) The two bedrooms have comfortable mattresses (possibly a bit on the firm side), plenty of sheets and are equipped with duvet covers. Regular blankets are also available. The kitchen is large and well equipped with stainless steel pans and a set of Kitchen-aid cooking knives. The living area is large with huge windows allowing great views of the Gulf waters. There are 6 sliding glass patio doors which contribute to the openness of the living room. The 2 bedroom suites have their own sliding glass patio doors. The owner has a new grand piano available for those who might play. While we are not piano trained, it contributed to the overall decor of the room. The town of Apalachicola is a seafood lover's delight. Apalach is one of the largest producers of oysters in the country, as well as freshly caught Grouper, red fish, mahi-mahi, flounder, and shrimp, There are at least 6 top-notch seafood restaurants, most with waterfront seating. There is not one fast-food restaurants in Apalach. (If you crave a hamburger and fries or pizza, they can be had at some of the local eateries.) Shopping is very good with several Boutique stores as well as tourist shops. Of special note are the art galleries featuring local artists, photographers and wood carving. Apalach has far more interesting things to do, see and eat than any other small town of 2,500 residents. This trip was a great late winter get-away!
My wife and I fled the New England winter for eight weeks in this lovely home. Apalachicola is a small, charming town in a great location with friendly locals. The house itself is very comfortable and tastefully and intelligently outfitted. Its location on Apalachicola Bay is unsurpassed, with breathtaking sunrises at one end of the property, gorgeous sunsets at the other, and on the Bay itself a fascinating drama of birdlife against a backdrop of ever-changing water and light. The photos and description on the website are accurate, but they can't do justice to the actual experience of being there, and the owners could not be nicer or more caring. We had an unforgettable experience.
My wife and I spent a wonderful month on the Apalachicola bay in a beautiful home with a great vista. Our visit coincided with the Covid-19 crisis but we were in a great place to hunker down. The house and town are exactly as advertised and I offer my highest recommendation and commend, the owner, Faye Gibson, for her timely response to all of our questions.
What a beautiful home with amazing views!! We loved every minute of our stay❤️
So much to say about this house and the owner Faye. I have rented many homes and this by far was the best. Besides the 3 million dollar view, the house is clean, quiet and comfortable. The pictures do not do it justice. So well kept and everything we needed was provided from beach towels to bathrobes. Cannot say enough about what this house/ property has. The only thing Apalachicola is missing is Me. Nice town, great people, multiple shops and great food. Must go to Owl Tap Room ( duck confit fries- to die for) Loved the Marina at Scipio Creek. Loved the Bowery and the Ice House. Stay away from Bangkok Bistro- Chinese food???? Not good. Faye was available for questions and left us to our own when needed. We appreciated that. Book this house you will not want to leave. We didn't. Till me meet again. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!
