Casa Alpenglow, the most upscale property in the Vacay In Tucson collection, offers unparalleled luxury right in the heart of Oro Valley. The Southwest modern decor, large open floor plan, incredible views of the Catalinas, and private outdoor space w/ hot tub and heated salt water pool (additional charge for heating). We’re locally owned and operated and have a deep love for Tucson, which is why we have incorporated much of the local flavor into our design.

The fully-stocked kitchen features luxury finishes like quartz counters, a huge island, and 6-burner gas cooktop for creating gourmet meals at home with the family. We also provide:

The backyard offers panoramic views of the Catalina mountains, which often turn pink at sunset - this is a phenomenon known as “alpenglow”. Dine al fresco, watch the game on the patio TV, enjoy a glass of wine by the fireside at the gas fire pit or lay on the pool loungers and count the stars. Immediately behind the house is the Honeybee Canyon and Biological Corridor Preserve (a birder's paradise!!) and a walking path, perfect for an afternoon stroll.

For the working traveler, we’ve installed a wifi extender so you can work outdoors while soaking up the desert sun and mountain views.

SPA/POOL: The spa is heated on-demand (heat 1-2 hours prior to use; heats at 25* per hour) and can be used year round. The saltwater pool can be heated for an additional daily fee of $75 from November - March and $55 from April - October; please inquire in advance if interested. The pool will generally be a comfortable temp without supplemental heat from the mid May to late August.

NO POOL FENCE: The safety of our smallest guests is of utmost importance. Since there is no pool fence, the home is not secure for small children; therefore we do not allow guests under the age of 10.

We have a thorough cleaning protocol to ensure all surfaces are sanitized and use unscented laundry cleaning products. We're also eco friendly and provide personal care and cleaning products from Public Goods for our guests to use. Eco features include recycling, energy-efficient LED lighting, and a fridge water filter so you can get great quality drinking water. Don't forget to pack a reusable water bottle!

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT FEE: There is a 5% payment processing fee that is non-refundable. If you book then cancel, our credit card processor doesn't refund fees.
- HOA RULES: Located in Rancho Vistoso, there are several important neighborhood rules that must be followed to be respectful of the community. In communal areas like the nearby park: no smoking/tobacco use, no alcohol, no motorized devices like scooters, and no persons in the park after 10pm.
- NO STREET PARKING: Cars cannot be left in the street or be blocking the sidewalk. There are 2 parking spots in the garage and 2 in the driveway. If your group will have more than 4 cars, please find an alternate house with a bigger driveway.
- PATIO SLIDER: If the patio slider is open for more than 5 minutes, the HVAC system will automatically turn off to conserve energy.
- OUTDOOR QUIET HOURS: This is a quiet neighborhood, so we ask that you reduce all outside noise after 10 p.m
- MID-STAY CLEANING: For stays of 16+ days, a mid-stay professional cleaning will be included at no additional charge (because no one wants to clean toilets on their vacay!). We can schedule a time when you'll be out adventuring.
- MAX GUESTS: The listing sleeps 8 people total, which includes the total count of adults and children. If you need the extra space, you're better off finding a bigger house that fits more people!
- NO PARTIES, EVER: Because this is a quiet residential neighborhood, parties, events, or other large gatherings are prohibited. Unapproved visitors will result in us asking your entire group to vacate the property immediately and forfeit the cost of your reservation. This will be strictly enforced.

HOUSE RULES SUMMARY
While rules are not exciting, they are necessary to protect our investment. Ignoring/violating these rules could result in being asked to leave without refund and incur additional fees.
- DAY VISITORS: Please communicate with us if you'd like to have a day visitor; they must be cleared in advance as we need to know who is on the property from a liability perspective.
- OVERNIGHT GUESTS: Guests staying the night must be declared in advance and on the reservation (max 8 persons including adults and children. $100 per person/night over 8).
- POOL HEAT: Pool heat is an additional fee and must be arranged in advance. The pool will generally be a comfortable temp without supplemental heat from mid May to late August.
- OUTDOOR QUIET HOURS: If you’re in the yard after 10pm that’s totally fine, just no music and keep voices down to a whisper so as to not disturb neighbors.
- PARTIES: No parties or large gatherings ever. Seriously. This is a quiet neighborhood and neighbors will alert us.
- SMOKING OR VAPING: Just don’t. Inside or out, it doesn’t matter, it's not allowed. Incurs a $500 fee to deep clean the house plus any direct damages.
- PETS: We’re allergic and cannot host pets or animals of any kind, no exceptions. $100 per day fee for violations.
- CAMERAS: We have 3 cameras on the exterior of the house. They are for your safety and the protection of our property; don’t tamper with them.
- DAMAGE/ISSUES: If anything is damaged or have any issues, please let us know ASAP so we can get it fixed.
- TRIP INSURANCE: We highly recommend you purchase trip insurance so that if something happens that prevents you from traveling, you’re covered financially.
- PRIMARY GUEST: Must be over the age of 28, verify their identity (much like when staying at a hotel), sign a rental agreement, is responsible for payment, and is physically staying at the property for the duration of the stay.
- WIFI: This is a smart house with several connected devices that will make your stay more comfortable. Wifi cannot be turned off by the guest.

    Everything about this house is perfect. It is clean and very well maintained. The view is amazing. The beds are clean and comfortable. The host has stocked the house with everything you could possibly need and then some. Every kitchen utensil is there and ready to go from blenders to strainers to straws. Each room has sound machines and night lights. I mean they have literally though of everything you could want for comfort in a home and provided it. And not cheap options, real conveniences you would stock in your own home. The host Jenn is so kind and done such a great job putting together all the details on the house and surrounding area you probably will never need to ask her any questions because the answers are already provided! Thanks again Jenn we cannot wait to come back for another visit.

    The house is beautiful, spotless, and the mountain views are perfect. The owners have thought of literally everything you could possibly need. I've never seen a vacation rental so well organized, and communication was excellent as well. I would highly recommend staying here.

    If you're looking for a home right in the heart of Tucson, this isn't it. HOWEVER... if you're looking to escape to somewhere nicer than your own home, that is stocked from floor to ceiling with everything you could ever need or want during your stay (and then some), and where your hosts will periodically check in just to make sure you're enjoying yourselves, then look no further. Casa Apenglow is tucked into a quiet northern suburb at the foot of the Catalina Mountains, so it's a good 30-45 minutes to most of Tucson's attractions, although you'll find incredible restaurants all within a 15-minute drive or less. Our party of six (grandparents, parents, and teenagers) was happy to have lots of space both indoors and outdoors to spread out, and the paved walking/bike path directly behind the house was a wonderful bonus. We have stayed at numerous rental homes over the last 15 years but every one of them now pales in comparison to the level of service and attention to detail that Jenn and Jon thoughtfully provide to their guests. Enjoy your stay in this fantastic home — we sure did!
