We had a below standard stay in this house to say the least. At the last minute the owner moved us from the unit B we booked to the mirror image unit A on the other side (side by side duplex). It very much was a bait-and-switch tactic. We booked months ago. This happened the morning of our arrival, and things got worse after that. Dirty, broken fixtures, service people showing up unexpectedly. Pool is the feature in front of the unit, and ours was filthy and green the entire stay. There is no gym or pool table in the other unit, and we planned on using these amenities. Packages were delivered for the owner and stacked in front of the door, we had to move them to get in and out of the house. We received no warning that repair or service people would be coming to the house while we were there. I have reached out to the owner for resolution and am not being provided compensation. The amenities in the unit b are NOT the same as unit A. They offer a discount for a future stay, but I should be discounted for a poor stay now. I was told the owner just took over the Unit A and it needs some work. Yet, they won't provide any recompense for the issues and lesser quality of the other unit. Very dissatisfied. These are the reasons people veer away from vacation rentals and go to hotels. No quality assurance makes for disappointed guests. This is not the way to run a business, do not rent this unit if you want a relaxing & easy vacation. It's a lot of work to stay here

This property is listed on multiple sites. I messaged the host several times as VRBO suggested, seeking check in details like a front door code. The host did not respond, but instead canceled out reservation at about 11:45 the night before we were due to check in. Once midnight hit, there were no comparable properties in the area offering same day check in. VRBO customer service couldn't hasten our refund or find any hotels with availability. I hope future guests receive their cancellations with enough notice to find new places to stay.
