I will say we picked the coldest weekend to go up so I can’t complain that much about the basement room that didn’t get above 55 degrees it felt like. But otherwise it was a decent place to crash for the night and get ready to go back to the slopes in the morning.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is very close to Beech Mountain and is situated on a lovely lot in a quiet neighborhood. The property management company provided clear communication. Also, the cleaners did a fine job -- the kitchen was clean, the sheets were washed, the bathrooms were clean. But this property has a serious yuck-factor caused primarily by the thick, stained carpets that cover the entire living areas, including the bathrooms. Carpets in a dog-friendly unit are already suspect, but 20 year old carpets are downright disgusting. This property has the most minimal toiletries provided, so no dish soap and no bath towels... so you step out of the tub onto a filthy stained carpet. Blegh. Other smaller issues: the hot tub is a jacuzzi tub and there isn't enough hot water to fill it. The heat is from wall units and we struggled to warm the rooms to a comfortable level -- it's easy to be either way too hot or way too cold. I wouldn't return with my family.

We booked this property for a one-night stay. Upon arrival, several issues were immediately noticeable and were reported to the host with photos. All of the window blinds were broken and could not be raised or lowered. The sliding glass door screen at the bottom of the stairs was off its tracks, and the sliding glass door itself was open when we arrived, which raised a security concern. There was also a persistent musty odor throughout the house.During the stay, we observed a mouse inside the unit. The beds were extremely firm and uncomfortable, making it difficult to sleep. When these concerns were reported, we were told that if we left immediately we could receive a refund, but if we stayed we would be charged in full. We were already two hours from home, arrived late in the evening, and were there specifically for a one-night ski trip, so leaving was not a reasonable option. We stayed only due to lack of alternative lodging, not because the conditions were acceptable. Future guests may want to be aware of these issues before booking.

Absolutely awesome! The only thing is the dates nature of the house. I imagine it would cost more if it were updated though. The whole family loved it.

The property is a little dated but the location is perfect for ski slopes. The only downside I saw was the lack of a driveway as it only has a little side road cutout for maybe 2 cars and isn’t ideal for a larger group. Otherwise the experience was great and the check in was seamless.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I appreciate you helping us find a last-minute rental. The office manager was really nice and helpful. However, this home should never be rented. It is in terrible shape. The linens were musty/stale and towels were too. The home is poorly maintained and overall gross. We would have stayed somewhere else but the power in Banner Elk was out.

The property is in desperate need of repair. There were 5+ containers of ridex throughout the home to try and eliminate the odor of must and mildew. The house smelled. There is carpet in the upstairs bathrooms and the toilets in each bathroom leaked so the carpet was always wet and smelled. There was mold/mildew in each bathroom. The 2nd story outdoor deck railing was missing slots and in other areas was pulled completely away creating a large danger. We had our dogs with us and had to create barriers so they wouldn’t fall off the deck. We attempted to take our dogs out back on a leash and use the fire pit area but there was garbage, beer bottles, glass, construction debris etc making it unsafe to walk in the side/back of the house. We rented the house to be able to sit on the deck, enjoy the views and there are no views because the trees are unkept/overgrown and there deck is not safe. The lights didn’t all work there were many pieces of left over furniture laying around and the home didn’t make any sense. It was just a dump to put it bluntly. We don’t mind an outdated home, but this was a rundown outdated home that should be rehabilitated before trying to collect rental income. It was worse then staying in a low budget hotel. Extremely uncomfortable and we are very disappointed and feel like we were very very overcharged.
