Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, 3 bedroom 2 bath ranch home on the northwest shore of Owasco Lake. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, and adjoining master bath. The remaining 2 bedrooms are furnished with double beds. A sleeper-sofa in the living room pulls out to sleep an additional 2 adults or 3 small children. A "full house" will sleep 8 comfortably. The living room looks out through huge windows for a beautiful vista across and down the lake. The kitchen is complete and is attached to a dining room that seats 8 around the table. If you have small children, you will absolutely love this end of Owasco -- as you can walk out into the water a quarter of a mile and still only have the water level come up to an adult's waste. There is a fire pit right on the edge of the lake where you can sit out and enjoy a moon rise. There are 6 steps down into the water from the front lawn. A few large shade trees here as well, making those hot summer days even more enjoyable after you come in off a full day on the lake. The large deck allows for barbecuing, eating outside or simply resting in a comfortable chair with a good book. We include 2 kayaks, a two-person canoe, and an aluminum fishing boat and motor, as well as life jackets. If you need to borrow a pole or two, or some tackle, you can help yourself. We have plenty of games and puzzles for those "occasional" rainy days.
Camp Gramp is located directly across from Emerson Park. You can walk to the Merry-Go-Round Theater. THIS is THE BEST spot to view the whole lake from, you can watch weather coming up from the south end as you sit out on the deck. You'll hear the geese honking as they fly over and land on the lake. We have bald eagles and ospreys that may show off as they pluck a fish out from the shallows in front of the house on the water. Nature, relaxation and recreation can all be found at Camp Gramp!
Beautiful lake view from most rooms. Delightfully not hot near end August,'23. Home well furnished, everything u need. Swim/kayak. Nice walks on jetty in Emerson Park from the house, great hikes in Fillmore Glen St Park 25 min away by car.Learn/see Harriet Tubman history. Try see production at Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, excellent. The home owner Mark Bruland is great! and very easy to reach.
The house was as labeled very accurately. Completely reminds me of my grandparents place from the 80’s. We only were in the house for meals and sleep. It worked out very well. The sand bar on the lake was awesome. We were on the lake every day jumping, floating, swimming, playing, etc. This was exactly what our family needed and we didn’t want the week to end. Thank you
Camp Gramp is a wonderful place to share a relaxing and adventuresome family vacation. Peaceful, beautiful and close to shopping, dining etc. Many thanks!
Great, clean, comfortable, and close to so much. We had a wonderful time and everything was as the owner said. The boat, kayaks, and canoe were a big plus. My family had a great time
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Loved being right on the lake with great views. Kayaking, using the floats on the lake was great. Awesome fire pit! Ate s’mores by the fire. Green Shutters has a yummy cheeseburger and homemade onion rings.
This was our second year at Gramps Camp and we already can't wait for next year. We love the peace and tranquility here. The ducks are so much fun and floating around in a tube and drinking in the beauty of nature is amazing. The Gramps Campsters were very helpful and available to us .Ty for sharing this little piece of heaven.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Camp Gramp. Can't beat the location and the host, Mark, was wonderful.
Camp gramps was even better than the description. My husband and I rented and we had visits from our children and grandchildren. Place is great for all ages. Swimming was especially great for the kids ! Feeding the ducks was a favorite for all. It was so nice to Durban the deck for our morning coffee abs our evening cocktails! Just an overall good time for all
This was our first time staying on Owasco lake. Camp Gramp is in a great location. It’s close to Emerson Park and we were able to listen music one night. It’s also close to Auburn so lots of places to go. While the cottage is close to others it doesn’t feel at all cramped. The yard is nice and level which was great for yard games. We definitely enjoyed the motorboat, kayaks , canoe and water toys. I believe we took advantage of the motorboat every day to cruise around the lake. The amenities at the cottage were abundant, many that we don’t have at home such as the trash compactor and garbage disposal. Probably the only thing we would say that wasn’t on the plus side was that the water is shallow. The lake is clean and the grass is very short which was great. It’s obvious after being there for a week that everyone takes that in stride as we also did. We do understand that it’s the nature of the lake at this end and don’t want it to be a poor reflection on Camp Gramp. Our eighteen year old son commented that this was his favorite place that we’ve stayed at which is high praise from him and we agree.
Property was in a great location near Emerson Park. Convenient for walks and entertainment. Camp Gramps was very well maintained and had all the comforts of home. Easy process to rent and gain access on first day. Very quiet neighborhood except for July 3rd fireworks show which was awesome. Highly recommend this location.
We enjoyed the amazing views, coffee on the deck, kayaking, swimming, and proximity to hiking! The house had a very well-equipped kitchen, and we had no trouble cooking and grilling. There were also tons of little Knick knacks…watching teenagers try to open cassette tapes is amusing:D. Owners were very responsive! Would definitely like to stay again!
