We booked this house last-minute for a trip to Grand Lake, and to be honest, I wasn’t super excited at first. The photos made the house look a bit quirky—dated galley kitchen, bold red and yellow dining room, lots of twin beds and bunks. It definitely wasn’t giving “dream cabin getaway” vibes. But once we arrived? Total game-changer. Yes, the decor is a eclectic(particularly the kitchen, dining room and bedrooms), but in person the house has so much charm. The living room was cozy and inviting, and it leads out to a deck that overlooks the lake—and that’s where the magic really is. The outdoor space absolutely blew us away. We ate every meal on the patio, soaking in views better than any five-star restaurant. Just down the stairs is a lower deck over the boat garage where we launched our kayaks, relaxed, and just took in the stunning lakefront scenery. We’ve stayed in Grand Lake many times, usually in more traditional “cabin-y” places, but this spot has now topped our list. It was peaceful, perfectly located, and that outdoor space is honestly unmatched. I was already trying to book our next stay before we even left. Don’t let the photos fool you—this place is a gem.

What an incredible house. There are plenty of beds and spaces to lounge. The views cannot be beaten, the water and the porches are incredible. It’s also a 5 min walk to the downtown area of Grand Lake. We hope to return.

We really enjoyed the cabin and the decks! It’s right on the water and a just block from Main Street. The house had plenty of bedrooms for our group. The kitchen was well stocked altho a big small. We loved learning the history of the cabin with its period furniture and funky decorations. We highly recommend the house!

The house was perfect for our family with plenty of dishes and kitchen utensils…. Plus 2 refrigerators! The decks are fantastic. There are 2 sets of stairs to the dock but easy to maneuver. We used our SUP boards from the dock. We put in our kayaks at the community beach and paddled over. Plenty of chairs, games and table space. The history of the Davis Cabin is worth the visit!

My family has enjoyed the wonderful Davis Cabin for the past three years, and the property just keeps getting better! The view from the deck is breathtaking, and it is right in downtown Grand Lake. The amenities are very good from comfortable beds to a well stocked kitchen. This year we booked through Vacasa, and they were very easy to communicate with, and the keypad entry and on site trash receptacle made the trip much smoother.

We have visited this home before and enjoy its location, history and eclectic decor. However, we found no kitchen towels and were provided with bath towels. We asked to come in early but most of the cleaning crew arrived at 3:40 p.m. and left at 4:20 p.m. We had hoped to perhaps get into the property a little earlier. The barbeque was not working and could be a fire issue. A firefighter is part of our family and we discontinued use of the grill and reported it to the management company. We suggest more eating steaks knives as only two were found. Again, we always enjoy this cabin and hope you take our suggestions as helpful. Thank you so much.

The home is charming, the location on the lake was gorgeous and town is right out the backdoor. The four bedrooms were perfect for each couple to have their own space and the bonus bunk room for the kids was great. While the bunk room was rustic, it was cozy, comfortable, and was nice and dark/quiet so the kids even slept in!! Sharing one shower wasn't as hard as we thought it might be. The shower was very nice and water pressure was great! It is clear that the cabin is old, but everything that needed to be newer was updated, while still retaining the original cabin-y charm. We adored this charm and made lots of family memories! We enjoyed dinners on the patio and lots of time swimming and kayaking in the lake. The homeowners provided lots of amenities in the house: well stocked kitchen, great bedding, lots of extra blankets, beach towels, plenty of bath towels, the list goes on! We spent a lot of time making use of the lake and enjoyed fishing from the dock, but there is no ladder to access the water and it is very hard to climb out onto the dock without one. You have to scramble up rocks or have lots of upper body strength to haul yourself in and out of a kayak/paddleboard to the dock. Our only major issue was with Vacasa and the local support. We reached out for support and received no help with the outdoor trashcans being full when we arrived, which resulted in us having to store our trash indoors.
