My family and I spend one week here and absolutely loved it! It's so close to Snowshoe and the property itself has a ton of amenities: pool table, ping pong, hot tub, outdoor fireplace, etc. Very private feeling, and plenty of room for everyone!
The place was pretty breathtaking. The view and remoteness were everything we were looking for!
The property is absolutely beautiful. One of the most peaceful places we have ever been. The cleaning needs to step it up. The dishes were still in dish washer from last guests. Most the towels were still in the dryer also from the last guests. We found a can of opened moldy fruit in the pantry. Used razor in our master tub area. Even an old contact lense on one of the bedroom dressers. The pool table felt is quite worn out and the ping pong table could use some tlc. The hi chairs were filthy and so was the pack and play. We didn’t use any of it. The Hot tub lid was broke but owners are waiting on repairs. The hot tub worked perfectly for those star lit nights. The sauna worked and was also very enjoyable. We Couldn’t figure out how or if the Karaoke machine worked. Even with all the cleaning issues we all had a great time once we cleaned things up. The house is beautiful, the surroundings were simply amazing. The owners were very nice and helpful they answered immediately when we called. The grounds of the home were kept impeccably clean. The grass was cut and so was a path thru the golden rod so you could walk thru the maze. Even With all the negative cleaning issues. We would still definitely recommend this location. Thank you for having us.
Loved the thoughtfulness of the owners they thought of everything we could possibly need to make our stay better!
Our group consisted of 11 people of various ages- baby to older adults. The property was conducive to interaction, yet there was enough space to be by oneself as well. Plenty of games were available, a wonderful deck for relaxing together, outdoor fireplace and firepit, grill and kitchen with all that one needs to prepare meals. There were wonderful rocking chairs and deck chairs for just relaxing and watching the sunsets and the plethora of hummingbirds. The yard was great for a ball game too. A BIG downfall was the cleanliness of the place. Dog hair was E V E R Y W H E R E! Doors when opened, made hair airborne. Most of our family are not 'indoor dog people'. The one family that has a golden retriever in their house called it 'bad' by their standard as well! Bathrooms were clean, but we cannot say the same for the beds (dog hair on sheets) and the floors. Dirty tissues were in bathroom drawers and behind the toilet. Nice washers and dryers, yet both were stuffed with towels and sheets- still wet in the washer too. The entire place needs a hard core cleaning. The railing in the loft and going upstairs was decorative, but extremely unsafe. On the positive side, the owner was very much in communication with us and offered to help the best he could. Once WE vacummed and superficially cleaned, we decided that we could deal with it and chose to stay. Overall we kept it a fun, safe family-bonding experience. We won't go back though.
There was a little drive up to the house on a one lane road, but it was never an issue for us with the vehicles that we brought. The house and property was beautiful! We had an amazing stay!!
Very pleasant experience staying on the property.
Check in was easy. Place is big with nice kitchen and large bedrooms and bathrooms. Deck with fireplace was great. Yard was big and flat so room to play. Ping pong and pool and corn hole provided. We had good family meals with a large dining room. Solitude and quiet best describes accomodations
Beautiful, comfortable home with plenty of space for our family of six (including 4 teen children)...the kids loved the Netflix equipped TVs in the bedrooms. On days we didn't have activities planned, it was nice to just stay at the cabin and enjoy the hot tub, play pool, or sit on the back deck and watch the ever changing sky. We also really enjoyed the fireplace on the deck...we were able to be out and enjoy that even on evenings that the weather wasn't so cooperative. The cabin was clean, the furniture and decorations felt fresh, and it was well stocked. The only thing that takes getting used to is the distance from grocery stores. It's a good 30 minutes or so to the nearest small IGA so make sure you plan what you need in advance because you won't want to make multiple trips. The same with eating out, there are not many nearby choices so for the few times we did eat out, we went to Snowshoe Resort (~15 minutes away). You really and truly feel like you're in your own world and your only neighbors are the multiple bunnies, hummingbirds (watching them was my husband's favorite past time), and the occasional stray cow or two. We would absolutely return to TOTRC.
We Enjoyed The cabin with a view and lots of outdoor space. This Cabin Is outback indeed. The large round dining room table worked super great for the meals our family made here. We enjoyed the area. There weren't many people around in the summertime and while on the nearby (Seneca Skyway Scenic Route) it felt like it was just us and mountains as far as you can see (Super Awesome)! We also enjoyed Cass Railroad. The only thing that could be a negative, if you like to take long showers, this cabin may not be a good fit for you. they stress the need to conserve water. we had no issues, but we conserved water. Great Cabin.
