Stayed Oct 21, 2021Loved remote & wooded setting. House is perfect for able bodied folks or a couple with kids old enough to be safe using a ladder or incredibly steep stairs and comfortable sharing the 1 bathroom on upper level while bedroom is on lower level. Not suitable for two adult couples. Listing showed multiple bedROOMS & bathrooms but that info is for both houses combined. The listing was not specific. The beautiful little “hobbit” house has 1 bathroom and 1 bedroom. Other beds are thin spring mattresses on the floor in an alcove that an adult has to crawl in/out of or a loft with a ladder an adult could not stand in. Kids would love it. It could be ideal for gatherings but you’d need both places on this property. Fire pit area could accommodate a large gathering and is a beautiful spot, day or night. Linda was quick to provide extra blankets as the weather changed & answered all questions about local sites. I would return as I appreciate her effort to reduce our impact on the planet with the mindful construction of the little house. My companions with knee, hip, back or digestive issues would not, could not.

Stayed Jul 5, 2021First Linda was great! She stayed on property so if we needed anything she was able to get it or direct us where to go! We brought Taylor our 11 year old Golden Retriever with us and he was the first to try out Linda's Pet Bunk House and he did really well in it. He has a bit of anxiety when we travel so this bunk house provided him a nice place to settle down. Originally, Linda planned the bunk house for a smaller animals (under 50 pounds). Taylor, who is 100 pounds had enough room to move around plus she provided him a nice cushion under the 4 foot raised queen size bed. The first two nights my husband and I stayed out in the bunk house just to keep an eye on Taylor. The third night, Keith stayed out in the bunk house and I stayed inside the house with our teenage girls and our adult son. Linda built the stone cabin with being eco friendly concept. It's has a small footprint on each level with a European flair to each level. When you walk in you are in the master bedroom and is very cool with the rocks for the floor and walls. It has a wooden stove and fireplace with the TV and DVD player. The stairs are near the front door which leads to the main floor. The steps are good not narrow at all and evenly spaced. The outside is very rustic with the stones and the 2nd floor inside is very warm with wood walls and ceilings. There are ceiling fans in the master bedroom and in the kitchen. The bathroom is the toilet and bath tube/shower. The sink is outside of the bathroom which worked well for us at morning and night. We stayed at the cabin the second week in July and we did not have to use the AC at all. We kept the windows open and it was perfect. The kitchen is well stocked but could use some bakeware. The stove and oven were a bit tricky to use because I have a gas stove at home. We played games at night and went hiking during the day. Linda was very helpful with finding trails Taylor could come on with us since the Smokey Mountains NP does not allow dogs even on leash. Overall our stay was very relaxing. The cabin is located between Bryson City and Franklin both are easy to get to through the mountains roads. Linda has awesome neighbors (Chris and his wife) gave us fresh eggs one night while we were walking our dog for his night time walk. We bought honey from another neighbor of hers and it is fabulous. Linda's property is so calming with the sound of the creek. Taylor loved to lay in it after a walk. I loved soaking my feet in

Stayed May 24, 2019I'd like to start by saying that Linda was super nice. The gardens and neighborhood were absolutely gorgeous. And if you are renting just one room/portion of the house, this may work great for you. We rented the whole property for a family reunion and, for us, there was not enough common space to hang out. In fact, there is no indoor common space at all, so we spent the whole weekend outside. That would have been wonderful if it weren't for the biting no-see-ems which left welts all over our legs and feet. The house feels cluttered, with tons of video tapes, books, and blankets in cabinets everywhere. The kitchens are pretty small for so many people and there is no dishwasher. So while there are plenty of dishes, it would be challenging to wash and dry them all by hand. Lastly, many of the rooms don't have doors (including one of the bathrooms), so there isn't much privacy. The Loft and Hobbit Room in the Eco Cabin are just mattresses on the floor, nothing else. Oh, and the WiFi is pretty much useless. We did not complain to Linda because we made the best of it and enjoyed our time together, but I just wanted people who come for a trip like ours to have an accurate idea of what the place has to offer. Again, small groups or people who won't cook or hang out on property could do well here. We hold this family reunion every year and for us it was not ideal. We will not be back. Side note: We went strawberry picking at Darnell Farms - YUM. Their DreamWhip (soft serve ice cream treat) may be the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. Do yourself a favor and get a large one.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969While I stayed at Eco Rose Manor, I thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace room, its complete bathroom, and fully equipped second kitchen. Being in the mountains constantly adds to this lovely lodging as I went to sleep listening to crickets and awoke to birds chirping. Linda's beautiful property and extensive collection of books and movies may tempt you to stay in, but there is so much to explore in every direction! Water activities in Nantahala, hiking in Deep Creek, music in Sylva, and so much more is near (Franklin, Dillsboro, Cherokee, Highlands). Asheville is 1.5 hours away and definitely worth a trip! What makes this rental even better is Linda's friendly personality, knowledge of the area, and commitment to keeping a clean, eco friendly property!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I wish I could have spent more time at this lovely property. The eco cabin was spacious, clean, and homey. I slept soundly and felt well rested and relaxed during my stay. What a perfect location - the drive through the Smoky Mountain National Park was incredible.
