Great house, we enjoyed our stay
We had a family Christmas gathering at this property. We had plenty of space, and everything was clean. Overall it was an awesome place to stay.
Beth was accessible, communicative, and ready to help with all the details to make our stay enjoyable. The kids LOVED the woods and the ping pong table in particular. This is a great house for families with plenty of bedrooms that are spread out for privacy, and 3 full bathrooms. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!
We loved the house. Having to go get a key was pain. With all the other home rentals we do having a code and just going to the house is perfect. The town isn’t far but having had only a weekend getaway and not having access till 4:00 and then having to go into the town it took more time then I would have liked. Also, having to return the key was another step that could easily be removed with a new door lock. The driveway needs a huge warning. Step is not enough. Getting there in the dark and then trying to make sure you can see it was a slow process. We loved the house and all the extras there. It was a fun weekend. I would also add let quests know about wildlife. We hit a large black bear and one of our cars was totaled and we spent the hours at the ER.
Celebration of my 40th birthday! The warm springs pool is a must and we enjoyed fishing at the jackson river !
There was 6 of us visiting our son that is working at the Homestead. We needed 4 bedrooms and there was not a lot of choices. This home is only a few miles away from the Homestead and has 4 spacious bedrooms. The kitchen is well appointed and we were able to prepare a meal and plenty of seating at the dining area. There are a few important facts about the house. 1. There is no ac. This is in the listing and I did not think mid September would be an issue but it was. The house was stuffy and rather uncomfortable. We used all of the box fans in the house but especially when cooking we all broke out in a sweat. 2. The driveway is very steep. We rented a 4wd and I am glad we did. The listing also states this. They are very upfront but if you think you car might make it think twice. 3. There is no cell serivice. The wifi worked good but no txt messages or phone calls worked in the house. Not a huge deal but it is worth noting.
The property is quite secluded on a mountainside in beautiful Bath County just a few miles south of the Homestead Resort. The eight of us had plenty of space, and there were plenty of plates, glasses, etc. Although WiFi was excellent, you’ll have a better experience if you “log off”, ignore the few tvs, and spend more time on the deck. Don’t miss “taking the waters” at the Warm Springs pools or the falls at Falling Springs. The IGA Valley Market between Hot Springs and Warm Springs had a surprisingly good inventory, is remarkably clean, and provides a helpful and courteous staff. Great experience!
Five of us came up to run the Jackson River marathon and we enjoyed our stay. There was plenty of room for everyone and the house had a decent layout. The deck and screened in porch were lovely places to relax. We were worried about the lack of central AC in June, but it was not a problem.
This comfortable cabin was beautifully decorated for our Christmas stay! So many sweet touches! Appliances & linens were nice, kitchen necessities were all there. Lots of living space, a nice fireplace, plus plenty of games and puzzles. We loved it!
Spent my 40th birthday there it was gorgeous the privacy a d location was great. Town and activities were very close also. Alot of wildlife.
The cabin was better than expected. Very spacious and plenty of room. The only constructive comment would be that all tvs should be streaming available. Couldn’t get the tv in the master to work. Other than that, very enjoyable property.
We couldn’t get the satellite tv to work in the basement. It appeared as though there was no service
The property was as described. The name is very appropriate. You feel a sense of release from the hustle and bustle of life. A wonderful retreat from our chaotic world. We were there to participate in a state golf tournament at The Homestead. The property was just moments from the multi-day event making it so perfect for our needs.
It was roomy, had lots to do, and clean. Easy access to the necessities. The screened in porch was everything. Included firwood was appreciated too.
We were visiting our son who works at the Homestead and this was a perfect location for that. We had lots of room and really enjoyed the porches in the evenings and early mornings. Since there is no AC, we probably wouldn’t rebook in the summer, but would definitely consider it in the Fall or Spring.
Very nice, lots of room.
This cabin was just as described. The location was perfect. It was very secluded but very close to the Homestead we were going to for a wedding. The beds were comfortable and all spaces were clean. We would love to come back and stay for longer than just a weekend!
