One bedroom cottage - Ideal couples retreat

Aircon Aircon Aircon I know I’m a wuss - but if air con is important to you then you need to look elsewhere. On the plus side you will be awake for the stunning sunrise as you won’t be able to get any sleep. Pros Location and views Secluded ( ish) Quiet Comfy bed and good linen Wifi Close to main beach and Gorge walk Clean - other than some crockery that will never be white again Cons Near vertical approach road ( this actually was a nice walk if you are up to it. No TV ( again - what a wuss) Area around property not suitable for anyone with mobility issues Fan noisy. If you’re looking for a quiet secluded spot with great views, conveniently located and you REALLY like it hot and sweaty - then come fill your boots.

Access could be tricky for people with mobility issues as it is a bit hilly and uneven. It was a nice relaxing holiday and we would come back.

Lovely little ‘one room’ bungalow with bed, kitchen, dining, lounge areas in each of the corners. Bathroom and toilet in the entry, just outside the front door. Huge deck with sweeping views of the ocean, set up high enough offering privacy from onlookers. Quirky furniture that might remind you of your nans house in the 70’s… but also that you’d pay a mint for in Newtown!Note: the welcome email mentioned gas for barbeque, we only saw an old brick and wood number out the front. Apart from that a great little getaway for two, close walk to cafes, coffee, fresh prawn roll and the boardwalk.

The views are incredible and we loved eating breakfast and looking out through the wide windows at the ocean and sky. The cottage ticked all our boxes for a great holiday stay.

We had spectacular views - the clouds, the night skies, the vegetation and the beach. And, we loved the sound of the surf and the beautiful breezes. The building is very simple but clean and comfortable. It was reminiscent of childhood holidays so we felt very nostalgic.

The cottage , the views , the quietness were all sensational.The cleaners didn’t do their job properly with the floors filthy and needing a mop. You had to wear footwear to keep your feet clean. Glasses left with lipstick on them and cutlery dirty . Let the experience down a little

The simplicity of this place is what attracts us. The kitchen service could do with a bit of a stocktake and update to ensure there are enough of everything, especially serving dishes. The open storage of kitchenware by the floor tends to get a bit grubby with dust etc, so we had to wash before we could use. The morning sun makes the deck very hot, and the place could be improved with a seating arrangement in the morning shade on the front.

The sunrises were spectacular and I could see the whales breaching off Main Beach! The cottage is a traditional shabby-chic one room beach shack that has been updated. It has expansive views and is a short walking distance to the Gorge Walk, Main Beach, Cylinder Beach and shops. I brought some kitchen equipment with me but I found the supplied equipment was adequate.
