Checked in and immediately saw there is multiple spots on the ceiling that are damaged and covered up. The windows also do not close and lock properly in some bedrooms. The vents for the ac unit are rusted and the area around the vents on the ceiling are covered in dirt and dust at a heavy level. The spoke detection devices go off when you use the oven because someone melted something inside. The unit is in the master bedroom closet and when it cuts on, the wall and floors vibrate. Not being able to sleep at night. The kitchen walls are covered in black scratches and scuff marks, also the beds are very very cheap and hard. Me and my wife left before our stay was scheduled to end and ended up renting a beach house. This duplex is also in terrible condition. A lot of the box issues are painted over and the doors for the bedrooms do not close or lock. Last but not least, the location of the property is directly behind another house and is not in a great location. You have very limited spacing to access this unit by the only entrance (driveway). The couple in a truck staying in the unit next to us had to fold all the mirrors in and get out to direct the driver to gain access to the back. The kitchen faucet takes 15 minutes to finally get warm and thereโs crappy water pressure. Presented these issue to the owner and he wouldnโt call me back today as promised. Said that if I call the bank to let them know what was going on. He would put charges on me for fraud. Worst Place Ever!
Beautiful home in a great location. Close enough to downtown Charleston for a quick drive over. The house was well taken care of and had everything we needed. Would recommend to anyone traveling to the Mt. Pleasant/Charleston are
Beautiful place! I made the mistake of trying to find it in the dark-would not recommend! Once you know where it is, then you feel like kicking yourself ? Nicely decorated and comfortable. I plan on going back next year
Do not be fooled by the location of the property. Even though it is in the desirable Old Village neighborhood, under no circumstances should you consider staying at this property. I am absolutely baffled how anyone could ever give this place a positive rating. My fiancรฉ and I checked in to find that the entire place was filthy and had not been cleaned possibly ever. We contacted the property owner to inform them that that we would in no way be staying the night in the property and requested a refund. There were bugs everywhere - I even killed one on my leg as we attempted to tough it out and get into bed, but that was the final straw. The dishes were put back into the cabinets dirty, with smudges and food residue all over them. The furniture and carpets are stained and filthy. There was hair, dirt, dust, etc. on every base board and in every corner of the place. I have photos of all of this and have submitted them to VRBO in fighting to get my full refund, which still has not happened because the owner is unresponsive and unprofessional. They blamed us for not informing them sooner so they could remedy the situation. There was no possible way to remedy the property other than to burn it down and build it over again, it was so disgusting. We cleaned up the place from anything we touched and left the place as we found it. Do not stay here EVER! I hope VRBO takes action and removes this property from their website/app so no one has to deal with staying here.
This small backyard cottage was a great last minute place for us to enjoy Old Village Mount Pleasant. The kitchen is spacious, the beds were comfortable, the shops and restaurants of Old Village were just a short walk down the way, and we figured out how to negotiate the one bathroom quickly. My one suggestion would be for bath towel hooks in the bedrooms.
The 1st day we got there, first thing you notice is how dirty the catpet was. Also there was a roach on the couch as well as a few on the floor. We went to sit down for dinner and one of the chairs was broke my son completely went through it. A while later I went to put my daughter to bed and there was pee on the comforter, in the same room my son had to roaches on his bed. I messaged the people they asked for picturs of everything. The next day the brought clean sheets which was nice but the cleaning lady didng speak English so it was very difficult to communicate about the bug problem. Also they showed up with out communicating with us. We ended up leaving early because we found more roaches in the kitchen cabinets, we could no longer handle the smell of urine. It was just not worth it.
House and neighborhood was great.
Loved our stay here as a small group participating in the Cooper Bridge run. Possibly the cleanest rental weโve ever stayed in. Location was only one block from the starting point of the race which was a pleasant surprise. Enjoyed our stay!
Super cute, clean, comfortable little cottage in gem of a neighborhood. Only one small bath which wasnโt an issue for me but might be for larger group. Otherwise perfect spot and easy check in process. Highly recommend.
Loved our stay. We already have a return trip booked in June. Great place to stay when you want to bring the pups along.
