The location is amazing and the house was perfect. Even though it was chilly and windy we were cozy and happy on our trip. We still found time to enjoy the beach and it’s super accessible and the house had all we needed to enjoy our time. The major win was the double washer and dryers, game changer if you are traveling with kiddos!

Jennifer & Jose's place is amazing! Great amenities, very thoughtful perks provided by the hosts to make the stay extra comfortable. They had both bath and beach towels, bikes, a hot tub on the porch, great outdoor spaces for eating and hanging out, and more. The hosts were also incredibly responsive, providing recommendations for local eats and things to do and making sure everything was as expected in the home. Would absolutely recommend!!

Everything was wonderful!

This was a spectacular visit to the OBX! The house was clean and beautiful all around. The coffee/tea bar was exquisite and the hot tub was lovely after a long day of fun/physical recreation. Our hosts were attentive, kind, and resourceful. Their communication was top notch! We couldn’t be happier. We recommend this vacation home to anyone. Hope to be back and visit again in the near future!

Overall impression was great! The location was perfect, off the main highway but, close enough that you could walk to shops and restaurants. Beach location and access was great! I appreciate the fact the toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo and conditioner, were available! Coffee and creamer along with teas made it easy! You had what you needed to make your stay simple with a true vacay feel! Only gripe was being watched on outside cameras, although I understand the need for protecting your investment it felt like you were being watched every time you entered or exited the home. Overall the host was great at communicating and sent numerous notifications of reminders for trash, cleaning and timing! Kept us on our toes with everything!

The place was lovely. Clean, fresh, tons of windows and light. So very well equipped. The hosts were extremely friendly and responsive. Very professional. The kitchen is so well kitted out. We highly, highly recommend and thank Jennifer & Jose for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay! The homeowners were incredibly responsive and their communication (with the help of AI) made everything smooth and easy. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach. The beds were very comfortable, and the hot tub was the perfect way to unwind in the evenings. There were a few small hiccups upon check-in, but the hosts went above and beyond to take care of us, even sending someone over with a wine opener when we realized the house didn’t have one—such a thoughtful touch! We noticed a few gnats here and there, but nothing a glass of sweet red wine couldn’t lure away. One of our favorite surprises was the showers—the water pressure was strong and luxurious, and the hot water came on instantly. After a day at the beach, it was amazing to rinse off and feel completely refreshed. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here and appreciated the extra effort from our hosts to make sure we were comfortable. Highly recommend!

Great weekend on the east coast!

Great house, great location and easy to work with host. House is clean, well stocked in the kitchen (lots of dishes, pot, pans),bath (plenty of towels) and with plenty of extras bikes, beach chairs and games. Beach is right across the street and pool is steps from your front door. Have rented units all over OBX, Florida and in Europe this rates well above the rest.

The house is in a great location. Very easy to get to the beach. It was clean and the rooms were nice and well maintained. Little things really made a big difference: a wagon to the beach, beach chairs that were well functioning, toys for a variety of ages, kids plates and cup among many others.

Perfect location and size for our family vacation. The hosts were extremely helpful and communicated effectively. We had a great time.

Great location, extremely clean, and very responsive hosts! Plenty to do in Nags Head, and the house has LOTS of books, games, etc, plus a relaxing hot tub. We LOVED our time here!

The Whale House was a beautiful place…. Very clean , spacious, updated and had everything you could need or ask for . We loved how close to the beach it was . It was nice being right beside the pool as well . Awesome private hut tub and the beach gear they have like the chairs bikes and more was a great perk . Jennifer & Jose are super friendly and very responsive they have definitely gone above and beyond on this house . Would highly recommend.

Wonderful and convenient place. But you will need a blanket because it gets a little chilly and you cannot control the thermometer too much. Also, the recycling bin and trash was full when we got there, but otherwise it was wonderful.

Clean home, easy access to the beach and great pool

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful house in Nags Head! The home was super clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a relaxing beach vacation. The best part It’s literally just steps from the beach we walked over in under a minute every morning to catch the sunrise! The house itself is spacious and nicely decorated, with a great layout for families or groups. The private pool was a huge bonus we spent just as much time there as we did at the beach. Whether you’re lounging by the pool or enjoying the ocean breeze on the deck, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, clean, and well located beach house. We’ll definitely be coming back!

We had a lovely stay for a last-minute Memorial Day weekend at the OBX in this rental. The hosts were communicative, helpful, friendly and provided so many nice extra touches for their guests. The home was wonderfully decorated, steps from the pool and the beach, and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Would recommend staying at this rental to anyone looking for a lovely home with ample indoor and outdoor space that is close to so many of the OBX's best restaurants and activities!

Our group had a wonderful time during our stay. Plenty of room for everyone and easy access to the beach and local activities. There is a public beach access with parking lot right across the street, which makes it nice to load/unload for families with kids.

This home is just as advertised and the owners thought of every detail! This is the best VRBO rental we have ever stayed in! Communication with the owner is exceptional and the location is perfect between the north and south parts of the Can't wait to come back!

This home really was perfect for us. The location was fantastic. Close to the beach, just a short walk out the front door, and centrally located to everything we needed or wanted to do. We had never been to OBX before, there are so many homes close together and yet we felt separated at the Whale Cottage providing the peace and privacy we wanted. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend this home to others.

Our family had an amazing time! The house provides everything that we could have needed. The hosts are very attentive and provide a lot of information about the area. The house was spotless and just steps from the beach. We enjoyed the hot tub, the porch swing and all of the decks. We’d come back again in a heart beat.

This vacation was a last minute trip for my family and I'm so glad we selected this property. The property was extremely clean and better in person than in photos. The house was fully stocked with items I wasn't expecting - - coffee, tea, robes, slippers, etc. The host was extremely responsive to questions as well as being proactive in terms of what to expect upon check in, what to do upon check-out, local hot spot recommendations, etc. I'd give this property an 11 out of 10. Fantastic!

We enjoyed staying at this home. It had everything we needed and was quite close to the beach. We stayed too early in the season for the pool but the hot tub was great. There are plenty of space, beds and everything was new and comfortable. There was coffee and tea available with creamer pods and such. We definitely recommend this property.

Quick 2 min walk to the beach. Enjoyed the hot tub. Our little one wanted to visit the Bodie lighthouse so we ended up in the outer banks right before the start of the season so the pool was not open. Host was very responsive. Family friendly home, we had a nice time.

Awesome place to stay right by the beach! Jennifer and Jose communicated with us throughout our booking process and answered all our questions. The house was perfect for two families and our toddlers loved all the toys provided. Easy walk to the beach.

This house was very comfortable for my family of 7. Everything was clean, the beds are great, and so many little extras like shampoo, trash bags, cooking oil etc. made it easier for us. We have stayed at rentals that don't supply even one trash bag. We loved all the outdoor spaces and the location is close to both the beach and the shopping areas. We were blessed with sun and great weather despite coming during the winter. We would definitely return if future travels bring us to the outer banks.

Had a great weekend getaway at the Whale Cottage. Better than advertised and the pictures don’t do it justice. Plenty of room and great amenities. Close to everything. Jose and Jennifer were wonderful hosts and very communicative; they took care of everything. I know we’ll be back for a longer vacation soon. Thanks for a truly great stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Whale Cottage! I was so impressed with how fully stocked the home was with everything we could possibly need. We did not have to run to the grocery 1,000 times for small items we may have forgotten, they were already supplied in the home. Close to everything, easy walks, great hosts, plenty of space and beautiful!

Absolutely beautiful home! Exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and well stocked for our family getaway! Close proximity to the beach, shopping and a variety of dining options! The kids loved the game room and you can’t beat a morning coffee from the top deck! Look forward to returning soon. Such wonderful and informative hosts!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed Whale Cottage!! The home is very clean, the beds comfortable and so many wonderful decks to relax on. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who love to cook. Every kitchen gadget you can think of to use is in there. The beach access is close and convenient. We would definitely stay at Whale Cottage again! Thank you!

Property is as advertised. One reason we splurged on this place is because it was so comfortable and well appointed. Since it ended up raining 9/10 days (which did NOT ruin our fun), this investment paid off as we spent a lot more time inside than expected. Large living areas with a well-stocked kitchen. Location and hot tub were major pluses...also loved the sunset from the gazebo on the sound and the great proximal restaurants.

The place was perfect for me and a group of friends. The close walk to the beach was great. The shared community pool was never too crowded either. I'll be looking to comeback next year.
