Osa Property Management’s Conciergeand Vacation Planner team will contact you after you have made your reservation. We will assist with making any necessary transportation arrangements from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (SJO), or from one of the two local regional airports in the area - Palmar Sur or Quepos - to the property in Uvita. We will also arrange all excursions/activities/tours with reputable companies in the area, provide a link for grocery delivery, and make reservations at any restaurant. Our goal is to make your trip to Costa Rica enjoyable and as relaxing as you want it to be.

Uvita is one of the Central Pacific's best kept secrets. The beaches are beautiful, the hills are lush, wildlife is abundant and its the perfect place to surf, horseback ride or just relax. Add a handful of great restaurants and there's really just one thing missing from Uvita: crowds. If you are looking for a beautiful beach destination that is far less developed than Manuel Antonio, Uvita is a fantastic alternative. The highlight is Marino Ballena National Park, featuring the famous sandy Whale Tail where migrating humpback whales can be seen just offshore. You can whale watch, dolphin watch or snorkel.

Uvita also makes a great base for exploring Dominical (12 miles North) which is a fun, funky hippie and counterculturist enclave with great shops, dining, live music, candlelight yoga, spas, bars and beach. The tiny town of Ojochal is 9 miles to the South and is know as one of the best foodie town in Costa Rica. Ojochal also offers easy access to Playa Ventanas, a small and beautiful beach famous for its sea caves.
For those who enjoy golfing, the southern pacific’s only golf course, Osa Golf Course, is an easy 25 minute drive south.

The home is secluded and away from the noise and activities in Uvita, but only a short drive away.

Guests will meet with an Osa Property Management representative at check-in and at check-out.

After check-in, Guests will have unrestricted 24-hour access to the property.

Casa Honu Kai is a private home with no shared spaces. Guests will have the exclusive use of the property and the swimming pool.

A 4x4 vehicle is required to access Casa Honu Kai.
Uvita does not have UBER and private taxis are not always available.
Please contact Osa Property Management if you would like to secure private transportation (rental vehicle) during your time at this wonderful property, and/or transportation to/from San Jose International Airport (or any other airport).

Honu Kai is Hawaiian for 'green sea turtle' - one of nature’s most beautiful and graceful animals, and also a symbol for good luck. The inspiration of the name comes from the amazing wildlife and beautiful ocean that surrounds this home, coupled with the sea turtles that are rescued every year at the nearby aquatic National Parks.

Casa Honu Kai is a three bedroom home nestled on a multi-acre jungle property. Guests will love the wildlife that is seen and heard daily (including howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas, geckos).

The main floor of the home has a large and modern kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 is air conditioned and has a queen bed. Bedroom #2 has a bunk bed with a Queen bed on the bottom and single on top, which is great for kids or parents with kids.

Bedroom #3 is located upstairs. This beautiful and spacious suite encompasses the entire second floor. This Suite has its own private bathroom, king size bed, private patio/balcony overlooking the pool and sunset Pacific Ocean views. A perfect place for adults to enjoy some private time.

The open floor plan of the kitchen-living room space flows easily out to the covered patio space, overlooking the pool. This provides a great space all year, whether in the rainy season or in the dry season, to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the howler monkeys, toucans and scarlet macaws and views of the pool and the ocean.

The pool space also has a 'rancho' - an outdoor covered cooking area with grill and counter space, outdoor shower and half-bathroom.

If you are not out on an excursion, tour or at the beach, most of the time will probably be spent by the pool-patio-rancho area.

Google Nest Wifi throughout the home provides strong signal regardless of location in the home.

While the interior is a bit dated and tired, the outside space more than makes up for it. This villa is nestled in the rainforest and surrounded by lush vegetation. Yes, the cicadas are very loud in Jan/Feb, but you it doesn’t take long to get used to it. The management was very responsive and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. I’d choose to stay in this villa again.

This property is amazing! We had a great experience with the property management company as well - they made sure that everything was working properly and were very pleasant. The pool and the view were top notch. We saw many birds, an Agouti, and the day we were leaving we saw monkeys in the trees near the driveway. The house was very clean and beautiful - it had everything we needed and then some. We had the best experience here - don't hesitate to stay at this place. We went to see the whale's tail at low tide and also went to Nauyaca waterfalls and the rest of the time we just enjoyed the house b/c the kids loved the pool so much.

The house provided everything we needed. The pool with the view was fantastic daily. Kitchen is fully stocked. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive due to it being way up the unpaved hills. Privacy was important to us, and this house fit the bill. We had monkey visits almost daily. We enjoyed a lot of our time just hanging out at the house. Outdoor area perfect for entertaining.

Costa Rica was one of our families best vacations ever, for the following reasons. 1. Location: The house and patio is literally in the jungle amongst the trees. If you want the true CR experience of waking up to Howler Monkeys 50 yards from your patio and spider monkeys 5 feet away in the trees this is the place. The patio and pool are as advertised and definitely the highlight. 2. You 100% need an 4x4 vehicle to get to the house (and to drive in CR). Your first drive up and down from the house gets some getting used to especially the first night. After that though, the drive up and down to the house is easy and without stress. 3. I also have to say that house management company and staff at OSA Management were excellent. We had some flight / travel issues that were not the fault of the property and they were extremely helpful and friendly assisting us. 4. The house itself is nice. I give it a 4 out of 5 only because it is a bit dark and the layout is a bit weird. The house isn't what I would call run down, but it is a bit worn. Lighting in the evening is a dim at best and the kitchen utensils, flatware, plates etc., definitely show the wear and tear of being a vacation rental. None of these items impacted our stay or joy, but I do think the owners should invest a few hundred bucks for updating / replenishing plates, glasses, kitchen knives etc. Bottom line, none if this is major we would definitely stay at this property again.
