Lincolnville, Maine
Historic oceanfront farmhouse has been home to our family for three generations. It has a charm and warmth not easy to find in many rentals. The ocean views from the house are spectacular, as are the beaches. On the south side is a field and forest leading to the river and ocean. A path leads down to the beach, where it’s easy to get lost exploring. On warmer days it’s an excellent swimming spot, with warmer water than usually found along the ocean. Walk a little further at low tide and sandy (some rocky) clam-flats spread wide and far. Perfect for kids.
The kitchen is fully stocked. There’s an antique gas stove (which works well) along with a microwave, and dishwasher. There’s a TV and wireless internet. Upstairs has a bedroom with two single beds, and bathroom with a tub. The first floor has two bedrooms, one with two single beds, and one with a full size bed. There’s also a bathroom with shower on the first floor.
Our property is located with a unique wildlife habitat.
Camden is seven miles to the south, and Belfast is eleven miles to the north, and fifteen miles to Rockland. Camden Hills State Park is close by as are hiking trails to Mt. Battie.
Note: Our home sits close to the road on the non-ocean side. We have air fresheners that create white noise to help with traffic sounds. There is a washer and dryer accessed by walking out the back door and down steps into an unfinished cellar. Our family still happily lives here through July and August.
The manager, Chris, was very help, friendly and accommodating. The place fit our needs perfectly. We didn't take advantage of all the property has to offer because of our limited time. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for everything Chris
This is a very old home. One of the bedrooms downstairs must walk through the 1st bedroom to reach the bathroom. 2nd bedroom has no room for a suitcase. had to keep ours in the dining room. The host was very attentive and kind. The family has great pride in this old home.
Loved this property! Loved Chris! Such a wonderful place to reconnect with one another and with nature.
Well stocked comfortable house with wonderful view of the Duck Trap River. Highly recommend. Close to Belfast, Camden and Rockland.
Quaint Grandparent's 1920 home with lots of family memories. Well equipped kitchen with older pots and pans and gas stove. The larger bedroom up only has a tub. Shower down has good hot water. Enjoyed walking down to the river by the property through the woods. Chris met us on arrival and lives close by. Had a great stay.
We enjoy everything about this property. The view of the river is wonderful. Location offers access to local towns and much to do! Chris is a gracious host.
My husband and I, along with our adult son just stayed here and loved it! It is warm and cozy. Like the description states, it is an old farmhouse, so if you only prefer modern homes, then this might not be for you, but we loved it. The house sits close to the road, but we noticed that a lot of homes do. The traffic, especially big trucks are a little noisy at night, but we got used to it. The owner, Chris, lives on the property and replies immediately to any texts, although we didn't need him at all. The property is very pretty, and there's a big, grassy field that takes you down to the beach, where you'll have fun looking at all the different rocks. Our 2 year old grandson loved it. The location is great, only about 10 minutes from Camden, which has lots of restaurants and shops. We had a wonderful week in the house and would definitely stay here again!
This is a special place in a great location. We enjoyed it very much.
Enjoyed the visit. The view was breathtaking. The owner provided frequent helpful updates. The accommodations were very nice but the decor was more rustic than we had anticipated. Disappointed In full access to cable tv-it would be a great value added for future renters.
