Oak Island Beach - A charming cottage with a view you won't get tired of! The Barden Cottage

The beach cottage is quaint and comfortable. Very close to the beach. Maybe change the water proof mattress protectors as the bedding comes off while sleeping. Would stay there again!!!

The house is located across the street from beach access. Nice views of the water from the house. Almost everything needed in the kitchen. I did buy a coffee maker, but there is a pod type. Short on skillets, but all in all well stocked. Nice that beach chairs are located with the w/d downstairs. Water pressure was awesome! Clean, and comfortable. Linen was included! We really enjoyed our stay!!

First time using VRBO, very simple and great experience. The house was very clean and felt like home. The location was directly across from the ocean. It had great views from the front balcony. Only a 10 minute drive to the point where we caught flounder, red drum and blues.

This was a great little cottage and location. First world issues here… this is picky but the only “complaint” I have is the mattress covers. They are the plastic ones that make all the noise when you move. I get why the owners have those water proof ones but if you’re a light sleeper just bring an extra one from home and it may help to keep it in place.

This a great cottage on this wonderful island! The beach access is right across the street and is conveniently located to all the cool stores and restaurants that Oak Island has to offer.

This was a good space for us; good location and just enough room. For the money it is a good house. The reason I say for the money is they have it priced to compensate for some drawbacks. The style is a little grandma which is partly charming but also included a few functional hiccups. For instance the kitchen is a very awkward layout with no dishwasher and no space to store your pantry/food items for someone who plans to cook all week. Also the bed frames are old and we experienced the slats falling to the floor in 2 of the the three rooms. Plumbing required plunging throughout the week, especially in the master bedroom. We did love the screen porch and deck and the couches in the LR are comfortable. We also enjoyed the grill. We would have preferred Queen beds in each room--2 rooms have only full which is really only good for one adult. Overall a cute house and with a small amount of upgrades it could be great.

This was a lovely house and an absolutely perfect location! We really enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is a little small/cluttered, but works okay for a group of 6. Thank you!

Beds not too comfortable & all but one of the blinds are operational but otherwise fine. Also, on last night we had the wrong code & property manager did not respond - we got it figured out but....

Great place to unwind and enjoy the beach! Had a wonderful time and the location was amazing!
