The property was as advertised! Very nice log home with great amenities and very clean. Great location, just 10 minutes from Elk Rapids, 20 from Traverse City and 2 miles from the casino. Kwin reached out several times to make sure everything was as it should be which was great! We loved being able to bring our dog with us and plenty of land for her to play. Great property and gorgeous views with the snow’. Thank you for the excellent stay!
My family and I have not been on a trip together in over 15 years. We could not have hoped for a more perfect stay. The home is beautiful, clean, and had everything we could possibly need. Not to mention it is set in a beautiful location and very close to Traverse City. My family is already talking about making this an annual trip!
We loved staying here! Very spacious, beautiful, and pet friendly with lots of yard space for the pets to run. If you want to make full use of the trails don’t come during hunting season. But it was an amazing place to spend Thanksgiving with our family - the hosts were very welcoming and we would definitely come back. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful lodge!!
We rented the Northern Pines to celebrate our friends 50th birthday. The location was perfect for 6 ladies, very close to Turtle Creek Casino (where we were able to catch a wine tour shuttle through beer and wine tours out of Traverse City). The house was well equipped and had everything we needed! The hot tub was great, though fits only 2-3 people at most. We enjoyed the fire pit and beautiful landscaping, spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the yard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back! There is a cool beach nearby by, Maple Bay park. We were lucky to have a quick dip in the bay in late September! Right down the road was a fantastic fruit pie stand that we took advantage of. I recommend this place for a group that likes to hang out and enjoy the house rather than spending the trip in TC, it’s very quiet and peaceful. Kudos to the owners on giving it a true up north feel ! ❤️
Our family truly enjoyed our stay. Ranging in ages from 9-75, every member of the family was happy with this space (including our dog). Everyone had their own space and there were plenty of options it all be together. We enjoyed the trails, the fire pit, the lovely porch, and the hot tub. Nicely situated between Traverse city and Elk Rapids, we felt like we were close to so many things. The home is so nicely laid out, well appointed, and you can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into this property and the experience of guests (there was even a bottle of local wine and bag of coffee waiting for us)! We will keep this option on our list for years to come! Thank you Kwin and Megan!
The property and owners are fantastic! This was our second time booking this property - we will be back next year.
The property was great. The house itself was secluded with hiking trails around, yet close to Traverse City and surrounding areas. Lots to explore. The house had everything you needed. We really enjoyed our stay.
We loved staying here! Our only complaint would be that no bathroom on the “bunk” level means kids coming upstairs at night which can be a little inconvenient but other than that it’s perfection!
What a fabulous property and location! You can't go wrong staying at the Lodge. Everything was easy, clean, well appointed and so comfortable. We loved exploring the trails with the dogs, going to the Elk Rapids town and beaches, driving up the Pennisula to the wineries and Mission Lighthouse. This was our first time in Michigan and the Northern area doesn't disappoint. We came in for 2 weeks for the Traverse City Horse Show, but were able to do a lot of fun excersions! I can't say enough wonderful things about the lodge and how comforable our stay was. You really don't need to bring much more than your clothes. Thank you for such a great vacation home!
The cabin offered great views and privacy, and yet is close to town. It offered us a very relaxed place to hang out when we were down with our day trips around the area.
We book a cabin every year, somewhere new each time. This cabin was beautiful, very clean and the kitchen fully stocked with everything you could need. The views were beautiful and we truly enjoyed our stayed.
This cabin was perfect for our winter getaway. We had two couples and each of the bedrooms is on its own floor, which is great for privacy. The garage and entryway were perfect for our ski adventures as we could load/unload our gear under shelter and leave our shoes and hats/gloves to dry in the mudroom area. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked two of the nights. We really enjoyed watching the deer along the hiking trail behind the house and the beautiful snowy view from in the great room where we spent mornings doing yoga, and evenings relaxing by the (electric) fireplace. After a long day skiing or hiking it was nice to soak our sore muscles in the hot tub, though that was short-lived due to wind and freezing temps. The location is great; close enough to Traverse City to go out to eat, and close enough to cross country ski trails. Kwin and Megan were great hosts and communicated well all we needed to know to enjoy the property. We'll definitely be coming back!
Great views of forested hills. Beautiful hiking trails; great deck and bonfire pit. We would visit this one again.
Came up for a ski week, loved the cabin and property, the place was perfect for our family of 5. Kwin was kind and responsive, the cabin was clean and our stay was wonderful. Highly recommend!
Just what I needed, a refuge with excellent trails to hike with my dog. Furniture very comfortable, beds and pillows made for good sleeping. Well equipped kitchen. Lovely setting and stay. Thank you.
Well done! This place and pictures don’t do the property or the cabin justice. Kwin and Megan were great hosts and everything was perfect!
This was a nice cozy spot for our family to come back to. Didn’t utilize the hiking trails but used the fire pit one night and the grill and outdoors areas. We were in town for a wedding so we’re in and out a lot.
This property is tucked away int he woods and is cute as can be. It is in a great location for trips to a variety of the lakes and beaches. Enjoyed many meals with local produce and all in all, was a delightful place to stay.
Property was fantastic! Owners were too! We will stay here again.
We had a fantastic stay at the Northern Pines Lodge. Smooth check-in, had everything we needed, beautiful home and location, close to everything we did (Elk Rapids, Traverse City, Grayling), and was exceptionally clean. We could not have asked for more!
This property was everything we could have hoped for. It exceeded our expectations and we had a great time. The owners are great to communicate with and very quick with responding.
My friends and I had a great time at the lodge. We enjoyed the trails, and loved that it was in a private area with a beautiful view of the forest.
