Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our group (3 couples) came up for a week - our second stay in this fabulous house. What can we say? It has everything you could want. Lots of space for everyone, a wonderful kitchen, and amenities like a hot tub and outdoor BBQ. Access is usually easy with immaculately plowed roadways. We had a few glorious days of sun, then hunkered down for the great snow-in (early March '24) where we stayed snug inside and watched the snow pile up outside. We honestly couldn't have loved it more. If you are lucky enough to book Norse Hall, count your blessings!

Stayed Jan 25, 2024Our family of six had a wonderful stay at Norse Hall. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The neighborhood was peaceful and close enough to amenities.

Stayed Jan 13, 2023This home was perfect for our family of 5! So spacious yet very cozy. We took our chances and traveled here during the storm ~ the driveway and streets leading to this home were plowed regularly. The hot tub was so relaxing after a day on the slopes! Great proximity to Tahoe Donner and Sugarbowl. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We plan on staying here again this summer.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Nice home-can be something with some maintenance & deep cleaning. Feels as though the home is neglected- Dishes were dirty. Everything had to be washed before use. Water pressure is very low in master shower- not comfortable to use. 2nd upstairs shower has a leak through downstairs ceiling. No shovel in the garage to deal with snow. We had to cut our trip down by a couple days due to this uncomfortable situation. Sadly, we left feeling gipped, we paid for a luxury stay and came up short.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This is an absolutely amazing place to stay. Easily accessible by well-plowed roads, we were charmed by absolutely everything in this warm and welcoming home. The master suite features a luxurious jacuzzi tub and marble shower. (Just be aware that the room overlooks the great room. It does feature sliding barn doors to cover the balcony-like opening, but if you are the first to bed, or the last to awaken, you will hear noise from downstairs. For us, it was absolutely not a problem.) We were three couples, and everyone had plenty of personal space, loved their rooms and baths. The great room is outstanding, with huge ceilings to admire the snow outdoors, a cozy fireplace, plenty of room for dining, cooking, relaxing. We loved the outdoor gas fire table for evening gatherings (s'mores!), and the hot tub was excellent after a day of skiing. The Tahoe Donner x-country resort is nearby (actually walkable from the house) and the downhill resort is a short drive. The Lodge, also nearby, is a great place for dinner and/or drinks, and the town of Truckee offers lovely shops, food and drink options, and all the major chains for food, pharmacy, etc. we were there in winter but it looks like there are lots of nearby hiking trails, it would be lovely in summer as well. We fell in love with this home, wish we could live here forever!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969As soon as you go in to this beautiful mountain lodge you experience the combination of great style, interesting architect, comfort ,cleanliness, and a home that is exquisitely decorated and everything there for your creature comforts. From the fluffy white plush towels, To the crisp cotton sheets, to a very well stocked kitchen, to a spa like a hot tub, to the exquisite hand woven rugs underfoot. You could even be tempted when you stay here to not even step outside because it's so lovely, but you notice that it is so well situated for great hikes nearby, as well as the convenience of the little town too. I thoroughly recommend staying here and give it five stars.

Stayed Jul 12, 2022We took a family vacation for six days to the Norsehall house in Tahoe Donner in July. It was a wonderful getaway; peaceful quiet woods, lush greenery, ample space for the whole family and a hot tub to take a relaxing soak. The house is located up the Northwoods hill, so bike riding isn’t ideal for small children. We enjoyed easy access to the HOA pool for $17 per person, we made a stop at the nearby Z Market for a forgotten item, and we ventured out to Donner Lake, Truckee River, Martis Creek and downtown for some daily adventures. There were some pesky mosquitos outdoors, but we anticipated that and were prepared with some bug repellent for our legs and arms. It was hot the week we visited, the house does not have A/C, but the woods cool off enough at night if you open up the windows to let the air flow. The house supplies an abundance of ceiling, standing and window fans that work perfectly. There is a ping pong table in the garage that our kids very much enjoyed. Thanks for a great stay!
