Palenville, New York
Enjoy the beauty of Palenville and the Catskills, in any season. Here you'll find everything your family and friends need for a perfect getaway. Enjoy our beautifully landscaped yard and hot tub. Fall asleep to the sound of a nearby waterfall.
Spend a summer week grilling on the deck, enjoying a thunderstorm from the front porch, playing games in the private, landscaped back yard, touring quiet shaded roads on our two mountain bikes, reading in the hammock, cooling off in nearby swimming holes, and roasting marshmallows around the fire pit.
In winter, enjoy the woodstove, the fully stocked kitchen and large dining room table, ping pong, pop-a-shot, and a perfect sledding hill. Minutes from the Thruway. Convenient to Hunter Mountain, Saugerties, HITS, and Woodstock.
No pets please.
This nicely-appointed house was a great fit for our group of 5 adults and an almost-4-year-old. There is a large back yard abutting a creek at the head of a waterfall, so children must be fully competent or closely supervised. There are lots of books in the house, which was a delightful surprise for the young set. General cooking supplies (condiments, oil, sugar) are available, but stop in Saugerties or Cairo for groceries. House instructions are outlined clearly in a binder and via email, with a nice checkout checklist. WiFi was suitable (my T-Mobile 4G phone had no service) even for a zoom meeting. The art includes some charming amateur pieces (we especially liked the Darth Vader by the kitchen). We would happily stay here again.
Our last-minute weekend getaway was amazing. This is one of our favorite areas and we’ve been here several times. But this was by far our best rental experience. Super comfy and spacious house with two different living areas - it became kids vs adults! Three full baths, all well-appointed. Large, friendly kitchen well-stocked with brand new pots, pans and toaster. We got a bit of rain and a bit of sun - so we put the ping pong table, hot tub and trampoline to good use. Loved cocktails on the back deck with huge yard view and roaring stream. Sat on the covered front porch during the rain. Falling asleep with the windows open and listening to the stream was such a welcome change from city life. Enjoyed the restaurant, gourmet deli and wine shop just a mile up the road in Palenville center. Even got a round of golf in at the local 9-holer, also just a mile away. Perfect place - this will be our go-to Catskills retreat from now on.
We often stay in the area for horse shows and have stayed at a number of different places right in Saugerties. While this home was a few extra minutes drive from the show, it was well worth it. We'll be back for sure!!!!
We had a great time. Out away from a lot of people. But, close to a lot of amenities. Very quiet too.
Great house. Had everything we needed. Most rooms and beds were adequate. Kitchen was well stocked. Great information provided on things to do. Futon and pull-out couch in basement are not for sleeping.
Exceeded our expectations. More comfortable and we’ll stocked than any other vacation home we’ve stayed at. Two couples and three young children were easily accommodated with room for more if we had needed.
Great location near Hunter mountain. Super clean and spacious. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Hot tub and fire pit added to a wonderful experience.
Comfortable house in a bucolic location. Owner was very responsive. Perfect for a quiet vacation.
The property was beautiful and the home was very clean with many amenities. We rented it for our wedding weekend, had makeup, hair and pictures all done on property and it was more than enough space for us. It worked so well. Thank you.
The house was great! Comfortable and had everything we needed, including nice outdoor spaces to relax and have an adult beverage after a day of exploring. Choosing wether to set up chairs by the river or fire pit was our hardest nightly decision. During our 5 day stay we visited Catskill, Woodstock, Phoenicia and Hunter/Tannersville, all a short drive away. The area is also a hiker's paradise. Our favorite outing was the 5 min drive to Circle W to pick up sandwiches, then 2 minutes to the trail that goes to Palenville Overlook. We ate our lunch sitting on thrones made of rock looking at one of the most amazing views the Catskills has to offer from 1700 ft of elevation. When we have time to go back to the Catskills we will definitely be checking this property first for availability! Great stay!
