Ok so i can say it was a nice little cabin and this was me and my family first time staying in one but when we got there everything was okay it was a few lady bugs but when night came the lady bugs took over it was so many of them you couldn’t even eat your food cause they would be flying everywhere and soon as we seen that we call the company and was on the phone with them for hours trying to get in touch with the owner it was so bad til we had to get another place the next day omg it was crazy and now the owner doesn’t want to give us a refund for the days we didn’t stay there
We loved the location. Very serene and relaxing. However the inside was another story. The doors aren’t sealed well so there were large spiders and crickets everyday. And a large infestation of lady bugs. That was strange. The couch was filthy and stained. The tables in the kitchen, dining, and living room were all still dirty from the previous guests. Also the fridge was never cleaned out. The kitchen cabinets were broken. And there was black mold in the basement walls. The basement was unfit for our kids to stay in so we kept them upstairs. Some extra TLC and care would go a long way to make this place more fit for visitors.
It needs a few curtains in the living room. And the grill needs to be upgraded. Half of the grill it doesn't work. But besides that it was nice.
Well supplied kitchen, cute basement for kiddos, great common space for hanging out. Loved the sectional for watching movies and chatting. Only issue we had was miscommunication with the check in. Evolve (booking service) didn’t let our cleaning crew/property manager know we were checking in. The cleaning lady quickly helped us. Came and let us in the cabin and changed the code for us. So overall the check in process wasn’t smooth. But the space was just as advertised. The property needs some simple repairs but overall it was a great fit for a short weekend with friends.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were visiting family in Tazewell. This house had plenty of room for four of us to sleep. We loved the open concept. House was well stocked. We had no problems at all with wifi but cell service was spotty depending on carrier, which we did expect as we were up in the mountains. This is a large home in a quiet area, truly a get away spot.
Got to Check in early(huge plus) owner great with communication, beautiful clean cabin, and good view. Few mishaps, owners willing to help! Down stairs area is nicer in person then the pictures. (Our favorite spot to hang out with our 2 year old) and the bunk beds were the most comfortable spot in the house. My husband and I slept in a bunk with the baby. I’m so glad we took a chance and ignored the bad reviews on Vrbo. Only thing is they should list cameras on the porch. That was very uncomfortable but we just put socks over them, we turned down another cabin because of cameras so I wish I knew. Also isn’t toddler friendly, but a gate on the porch and adding to the top banisters of basement would fix that. We stuffed pillows so he wouldn’t fall through. And he was fine. But other than that it was awesome! adventurous drive to the cabin !!! Loved the steep climb! ATV,UTV Friendly community! If we knew would have brought our toys! Big plus ! And trails on the mountain! We would definitely book this place again. Nice to have owners that are understanding and work with us! . The wood work is so beautiful and very different from our life in Florida! Nice to have this scenery on the porch !
House was very spacious with room for variety of activities and groups. Younger adults had the basement, mom and dad got the living room. Great outdoor porch and fire pit. Extremely private.
House is great and quiet. Never did figure out where the boat slip was. We just put our boat in at Straight creek marina. Seemed easier anyway.
Cabin was outstanding with plenty of sleeping and dining area. Slip was easy to find and very quiet. I will definitely schedule this home for future vacations.
Lovely spot with amazing views. If you aren't use to or wanting a rural vacation then I wouldn't pick this place. My only discomforts were the this mattress and the water. Overall it's a beautiful place with lots of space for a big family. I would definitely try to get there during the day and hit a store before heading up the mountain.
