New Luxury Beach Home with Private Pool

Elevator didnt work we had elderly with us. 50lb suitcases up 3 floors. I called and reported it and no one ever came to fix it or call me with any updates. Shower in downstairs bath didnt work. My son in law fixed it.

Amazing place. Great kitchen. Plenty of room for the kids to spread out

Wouldn’t stay again. WE HAD INFANTS STAYING! We arrived and there wasn’t enough parking (only fits 4) and the house fits 12-14 adults comfy so people had to pay 80 a week to park but had to move their cars at night to empty driveways. Only two towels per roomWe had two disabled people and checking in the elevator didn’t work or did but had ZERO instructions to work it. We contacted right away and they said they would send a handy man to check it but it would be in the morning. He said they don’t give anyone directors on anything (true) we had to have two of the males carry actual people up/down the stairs the first night and ALL of their luggage 3 flights of stairs. The water filter was 99 days over due, lights bulbs were out. We had no water no ice .. finally next day handy man comes (dale) who is literally the only reason we didn’t leave. He is the best ever and fixed what we needed him to. We weren’t alerted were the trash cans were,so trash was piling up and when I asked I would get a snobby text back (we will send this over to the manager) like ok? How about you just tell me where the trash goes. So finally the handy man (dale the man!) shows us where the trash can goes because apparently the property manager knows nothing about the house … now it gets bad because there were tiny black bugs (booklice or sand lice) EVERYWHERE on all of our water bottles on our beds everywhere in babies crib.ewThen my guests started COCKROACHES.idk not a very luxury property pig in makeup.

Check in was easy and the key code door was nice. Kitchen had lots of storage, well equiped and nice big sink. Had an issue with the wifi, but called and got that fixed easily. Location in refence to the beach was amazing. We could set things up in the morning, then go out when we were ready. The beach access was handicap accessible so easy for our wagons to get out to the beach. Being so close was nice for night beach walks too. The pool was great, the kids loved it. They also had a closet of pool toys, beach toys, etc that was nice. There was a grill on the back porch too. Elevator was helpful getting bags to the floors so we didnt have to carry them all. The kids loved having their own room on the top floor with bunk beds and we liked that they had their own space.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit (B) was very white with all of the basic needs. As with any rental unit, there were minor repairs that could have been done (small holes in ceiling, door knob falling off, tv mount loose from wall, dead pixels in one tv) but these did not cause any issues. The location is within 100 steps from the public beach access just across the street. The only issue was that there was only one set of towels/wash rags per guest which caused laundry to be done every other day. Unfortunately, one neighbor thought our portable speaker was too loud on 2 nights even though we could not even hear it with our patio door closed - they reported us which caused a mandatory walk through from the property manager and threat of eviction. Definitely 3 generations of KARENS.

It took over 5 weeks to receive my security deposit and then they made a partial payment of $500. They will not return calls. I’m still owed $250.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family rented the Choctaw Beach House the last week of June 2024. The house and location were perfect. We originally booked with Royal American Beach Getaways, but they transitioned their rentals to ECDI. Our communication with ECDI before and during our stay was positive. However, after we checked out, we had to wait 71 days for our security deposit refund. It took many phone calls, one of which we were hung up on, and many emails to finally receive it. We were told on multiple occasions that deposit would be returned to our credit card, and we were told it had been mailed to us in check form, but to expect it to take several weeks for delivery. After not receiving it, we emailed stating that we were consulting a lawyer, and it was finally mailed to us and we received it the second week of September - 71 days and over 2 months after our check out date of June 29th. We also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, where there are other negative reviews and complaints. Although accommodations were good, the hassle, time spent and frustration encounter after check out are not worth it. We will not use this company again, and would advise anyone considering using them to check out the BBB profile.
