Denver, Colorado
This home is located just minutes from Downtown Denver in the highly popular neighborhood of West Highlands. Built in 1913, the house is a cozy two bedroom, 2 bathroom with front porch, and fenced backyard. It is just a couple blocks from the Historic Highlands Square area, which offers shopping, dinning and other services. It is also about a mile from the Tennyson Street merchant area to the north and Lo-Hi area to the east. Our nearest grocery store is less than 1 mile away.
The home has been updated throughout the years to offer modern conveniences. With a little over 1000sf, this Victorian has high ceilings and the original woodwork.
The kitchen has recently been remodeled with a small moveable bakers island, and plenty of cabinet space. A gas stovetop, and microwave oven allow for greater cooking variability . The door off the kitchen takes you out to a mudroom/storage area, then out the backdoor to a deck. There is a small outdoor table with four chairs and a new propane grill. For those who prefer cooking with charcoal, there is a reliable older Weber grill too! The dining area off the kitchen has a large table with 2 leaves and 8 chairs.
Internet, wifi, and a smart television in the living room are also included. The front patio has two chairs and a small table. It is nice to sit in the sun, drink your coffee, and watch the neighbors walk by. The back porch is used more for grilling, and yes, there are days in Denver winter that are warm enough to grill outside.
Located on a corner lot, there is plenty of on-street parking in front, and along the side of the house. You can also park in the driveway located on the side to the back of the house.
We are about 1 mile from Sloans Lake Park, one of Denver's larger parks, and three smaller parks (Rocky Mountain Park, Pferdsteller Park and Berkley Park.) It is a walkers/joggers wonderland! Each park is also equipped with a playground for children, and Berkley Park has a dog park, tennis courts and a recreation center.
Downtown Denver is a short drive, Uber, walk, bike or scooter ride away, with access to Coors Field (baseball), Ball Arena (hockey, basketball, concerts) the convention center, theater district, and newly renovated Union Station.
There is easy access to the two major highways serving Denver and the surrounding areas, making a commute to DTC, the airport, mountains and ski-resorts, Red Rocks, and Boulder very assessable.
I really enjoyed my stay in west highland ! The house was spacious , inviting and stocked with all that I needed for my month plus stay while working in Denver. Plenty of kitchen supplies, a dishwasher and washer and dryer made for super convenient stay . The full mattress heating pad in the master had me feeling pretty cozy even on cold, snowy nights . 3
