Stayed Jan 17, 2026Shady property in a quiet area of Puako and close to everything. Public shoreline beach access nearby and an easy walk away. The General Store is close by and has hearty sandwiches for lunch. It was a great week!

Stayed Feb 4, 2025I wanted to stay in a quiet place close to the ocean that felt like Hawaii, not a resort. We got wild pigs in the backyard, a gecko in our cottage who chirped each day, and wild turkeys sharing our walk to the ocean, which is right across the street. Sunsets were amazing and we finally saw the green flash, which we had been chasing for years. Cottage is just right for 2 people and we loved our daily morning coffee on the lanai surrounded by birdsong. One of the best beaches on the Big Island, Hapuna, is a very short distance away. The location, just off Hwy 19, gave us access to anywhere else we wanted to go and is barely 30 minutes from the airport. Beware of 2 very noisy roosters who woke us each morning!
