Near Trails: Tucson Getaway w/ Private Courtyard

Great area. Fun amenities. Perfect little house with good privacy.

The location was fabulous, so close to Sabino Canyon. It was quiet and the surroundings were lovely. The kitchen could be stocked better, more than four plates four cups, four Forks. There were two of us staying for 5 days, the supplies that were there to start with were limited. There were two coffee K-Cups for two people staying 5 days. Overall, it was lovely and I would stay there again.

The guest house was very well maintained and appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. The furniture and bed were comfy. Communication with the owner and manager was excellent. We loved having our “own” little garden to sit in and take in the beautiful view of the mountains. This casita was just minutes (by car) from Sabino Canyon Recreation Area which was stunning. We also were able to easily drive to many authentic Sonoran restaurants.

Property management team was incredibly accommodating - we let them know we’d be checking in pretty late into the night, and they made sure the A/C was running, lights were on, and that we knew exactly where to go. The rental was very clean and had everything we needed - super comfortable and had a great aesthetic. The walking trail right next to the rental was great, too.100% recommend this rental and this management team.

Wonderful location for Sabino Canyon and Tanque Verde wash walks and hikes, close to restaurants yet located on beautiful ranch property. A quiet retreat. Perfect for a couple in one of the casitas or big family reunion in ranch house and casitas. Great experience!!

Clean and comfortable

I loved birding on the nearby Pantano Wash every morning. This property is close to Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon, and not too far from the east side of Saguaro National Park, all places we enjoyed exploring and hiking. There are lots of restaurants nearby and other conveniences - grocery stores, drug stores, etc. - nearby. The property was nice; we enjoyed sitting in the sunny courtyard during the day and soaking in the hot tub later on. One day while we were eating breakfast outdoors, a roadrunner wandered through! The unit was nicely furnished and well equipped. The owner was very responsive, and there was a person who was often onsite (Heidi) who was also very helpful.

This was a refreshing stay at a place and time when we needed it. What a way to kick off a life time of memories. We will never forget our visit to the oasis in the desert!

Location is great for access to hiking with Sabino Canyon a short drive away. Loop trail by a Wash is right behind residence. Pretty good drive to access Tucson Downtown. Manager was very responsive. Front door lock needs much jangling to open.

We highly enjoyed our stay at the Guesthouse at Horse Thief Ranch. The strengths of the property included it having everything we needed including a great shower and plenty of kitchen supplies (although we ate our meals out during our two night stay...our choice, not due to anything at the property). Communication with the owner was excellent. She made check in easy and responded in a timely manner with any questions we had. The location was at the end of a quiet residential area that seemed very safe and somewhat upscale. The Guesthouse was perfect for a couple with plenty of room and a nice private patio area on the side of the home for sitting outside (mornings and afternoons were chilly so we couldn't take advantage of this). Cleanliness was good, overall, however, we noticed some dusty areas behind furniture and on some high shelves. The important things like the bed, bathroom, kitchen, and other spaces were very clean, though. Also, the common area which contained lounge chairs, a hot tub (we did not take advantage of it), and patio area needed a bit of TLC. Small twigs and other pieces of vegetation were in various places and a clean up would have spruced things up a bit...the furniture cushions were also quite worn. However, these were VERY minor issues. We would happily stay at the ranch again due to its overall central location, cleanliness, and amenities in the guest house.

It was a great place to stay. Close to a grocery store and walgreens but far enough away that it was quiet anc relaxing!

This unit is located in a very nice neighborhood that backs up to a nature preserve. The owners are very nice and it is obvious take pride in their little gem here. The grounds were clean and the courtyard was beautiful. We enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub, as it was chilly during our visit. It is not far from several places to hike/bike and explore. All amenities are also close- many great restaurants, grocery stores, massage, etc. The bed was very comfortable. Overall, a great stay.

Shared outdoor amenities. Like a book, don’t let the cover fool you. This space was so uniquely beautiful. It is a year round retreat with a private garden, great for morning coffee and space for your dog, or two. Parking is secure right in front of your rental. There are restaurants, fast food, and supermarket nearby. The hosts are friendly, gracious and truly care about making your stay a great one.
