Murphy's cottage in Arnold

The location of the property was great, very easy to get to. The heated toilet seat was a nice touch! Everything was as pictured. Hope to come back next year!

Cabin was awesome and we had a very pleasant stay. Had stockpiles of all the basic things and mainly, very comfortable! Would def comeback.

William is a great host. We love his place and will be back again. Through the complications of weather-related power outages, he provided constant updates. Once things were accessible we enjoyed our stay very much. Do pay attention to his comment about cell coverage. Because power and cable/internet cables are all above-ground, you can lose internet if the power lines take a hit. We were able to access Verizon reasonably well and I brought a Starlink mini as backup which worked well for streaming shows.

Cabin had all the amenities for a fantastic stay. Just was very responsive to our needs. Highly recommend.

Great communication with host. Enjoyed the location and the amenities. The place is small but perfect for a couple or small family. Loved the deck and the kitchen/living room open space. Our dog had a great time as well. Having a smart tv and games were a plus for us. We had one issue with the furnace leaking gas and not working but the host was on it and walked me through everything to use the ac/heater unit in the living room and that worked fine for us since we didn’t use the back bedroom.

The cabin is very cozy and easy to get to. We had a nice relaxing time. Was hoping for snow, but that’s on Mother Nature. Thanks again!!!

The location was great, and the host responded to a question that I had very quickly. I would defiantly go back and stay here when it snows or during the summer.

Loved the kitchen! It did feel a bit like there was a lack of privacy with the sheer curtains but still very beautiful and very close to the market!

Host had excellent communication and all instructions were detailed. Appreciated the variety of board games too! Overall, a cozy, well maintained cabin.

The location was fantastic! And, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the grocery store and restaurants within 5-10 min. of the cottage. While it was quiet and comfortable for 2, if we had had our family, there was not really a place for people to sit inside and play board games or chat (although the island did have a pull-out). Communication with the owner was great; but, unless I missed something, we were required to either put down a very steep deposit or purchase insurance, neither of which were good options for us. Overall, while simple, it met all our needs!

The cottage was very well stocked, spacious and neat. Very nice and clean kitchen and appliances. The host was very responsive regarding a minor problem we had with the heat which was taken care of almost immediately and a few other questions we had prior to arrival. Beautiful wrap around deck with chairs and a grill. The only detractors were that the nearby cottages were a little closer than we anticipated (and I'm not complaining that it was presented as such) and there was an attached smaller cottage - although we were there much off-season if it weren't it might have felt lacking in privacy. Also there were a few cobwebby corners and dusty lightbulbs. Although aside from that the place was very clean. I wish the fact that the master bedroom has a sleep number bed was mentioned as we didn't notice the remote til the day we left and it would have been appreciated! All in all it was a wonderful stay although too short. We loved going to some of the nearby state parks to see the Sequoias and more, and we loved nearby Murphys and little Arnold as well. We even had the enchanting experience of seeing a curious mama brown bear and her 2 cubs alongside a back road. Wish we didn't live in the other side of the country and could more easily come back!

Location, location, location. Price was very reasonable. Would stay there again! Having the new cover over the front porch area was great for wine time!

Murphy's Cottage was clean, inviting, and a perfect location to get to the grocery store, restaurants, and White Pines Lake. The kitchen had all of the amenities you need, the new AC unit in the living area was perfect at cooling down the place quickly, and the bedrooms were comfortable. We would definitely stay again when in Arnold!

Murphy’s Cottage was perfect for our relaxing getaway! The house was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed the large shaded deck and grill for dining outdoors. Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. We were especially happy to have our dog with us. Arnold has a lot to offer, and is very dog friendly. Communication with the owner was easy. He was quick to respond to questions. We look forward to returning to this idyllic spot in the future.

The cabin was very cute- looked recently remodeled inside. The kitchen was gorgeous and was opened to the living room. The deck was nice to sit on. The cabin had a nice secluded feel- empty lot on both sides of the cabin. We used the back yard to throw the ball for our dog.

I honestly was surprised, as the house was even cuter in person. Owner was super accomidating. I will def recommend to other friends and family who come and visit me(im a local)

We came up to Arnold for a little getaway from the Bay Area and we had an amazing time. Murphys cottage was very clean, spacious and the location was perfect. I loved the covered porch and the rocking chair. It was a lovely spot to curl up with a book. The kitchen island table was expandable and perfect for our game nights. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations.

This is a great location to access Bear Valley Ski Resort. Also, there are nearby hiking and mountain biking trails we really enjoyed. Neighborhood was quiet. This property has everything you need, not to mention being pet friendly. Owner is very responsive and answers questions quickly, and is also very kind. I left some important prescriptions behind, and he made sure I received them back promptly. Much appreciated! We plan to return next ski season.

This was our fifth visit to Murphy’s Cottage, and our kids have lovingly nicknamed it the winter home since we make annual trips. The cabin is always clean and well-kept, and its location is perfect—close to the main road and nearby stores. It’s equipped with central heating and a cozy wood-burning fireplace, which we love to relax by after a day in the snow at Bear Valley. Plus, it’s just a 35-minute drive to the slopes, making it a convenient and comfortable retreat.

Low key, simple lodgings. Worked well for my son and me as a base for heading up to Bear valley. Close to highway and food, but quiet.

We had a great trip to Arnold with our 3 kids on Christmas weekend. The house is beautiful and was in the most convenient location close to the market and restaurants. The house was very clean, cozy and had everything we needed. Thank you so much! We had a wonderful stay!

Many windows in this cabin sitting among tall trees give you plenty of light. The views of the trees around you soothes the eyes. Open kitchen/living area makes it feel spacious and light. Convenient floor plan makes you comfortable. Parking is easy, you don’t need to back up and there is no steep hill. Close to highway but yet serene and peaceful. Communication with the host is easy and quick. We really enjoyed our stay.

The kids had their first Fall break this year, so we decided to escape the subarbs for the Redwoods. Fantastic host, the best we ever had. William was kind and accommodating. We decided to get out of town for my wife's birthday and found this cute little cabin that would allow dogs! It was everything we could have asked for! The neighborhood we very quiet and the deck was perfect with no neighbors that you could see. We sat out there and played card games.

I had a awesome time during my stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone. The cabin was clean and in good repair. The area was great for outdoor activities. Food in the area was great as well, i greatly enjoyed my stay an will be back again.

This is our second year staying here. We've enjoyed the space very much, and it's in a great location to lakes and big trees park. This year we noticed dog hair around (not from us), but it doesn't bother us and it's worth it to have a pet friendly place when you need to bring your dog! We hope to return again next year!
