Ideally situated only one mile from the ski lifts at Northstar California Resort, this three-bedroom home is a place for skiers, snowboarders, hikers, and mountain bikers to find beautiful scenery and easy relaxation.
This single-level home sits one mile north of the Village at Northstar, where you can catch a ride on the Highlands Gondola, the Big Springs Express Gondola, and the Village Express Lift. The Village is also home to several excellent restaurants, apres-ski spots, and the pools and hot tubs at the NPOA Recreation Center. Come summertime, you'll have two kayaks and several beach chairs to bring with you to Kings Beach on Lake Tahoe, an easy eight-mile drive southeast.
After a day of adventure, return home to be greeted by decks on both sides of the house, creating a wonderful setting for sipping cold drinks, playing cards all afternoon, and dining alfresco with a view of the woods.
Inside, the house has the ambience of an alpine lodge, offering a great room with plentiful seating, a cable TV, and a gas fireplace. Fantastic place. It was way above our expecatiation. Fully equipped with everything one needs including board games, CD system, fully equiped kitchen and access to pool and hot tub. Very clean. Will go there again. Very nice wooded area.
It was a nice place to spend the weekend. Vert relaxing quiet neighborhood. Two thumbs up
Overall we really enjoyed the property. The home was very clean considering the age of the furniture and the property. The lamp shade on the nightstand in the master bedroom was tapped together, the carpets had multiple stains, and the back sliding glass door night lock is inoperative. With that said, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend the property to friends. Thank you for sharing your sweet home.
We loved the house for our group of 6, especially the patio & grill, the location, and the pool at the Northstar rec center. A few cons— there wasn’t enough toilet paper so we had to buy our own, the lights were very dim over the dining table, and the AC wasn’t able to cool the house to under 80 degrees. Further, the 4 pm check-in is later than typical and the 10 am check-out earlier than comparable stays.
We loved staying here! We purposely picked a straightforward one-level home because we were traveling with a toddler, two tweens, and a grandma. The house had everything you needed and was clean and inviting. The decor etc. is traditional cabin decor. The carpet had a lot of stains (pet friendly) but did not smell and felt clean and we had no concerns that it was dirty. The location was great and the home layout maximizes the square footage. There were six of us and it was very comfortable. Would stay here again!
This is a nice house very conveniently located close to Northstar village. It would probably be a nice walk (maybe a mile) in the summer, but too far to walk carrying ski gear. However, the Northstar shuttle service will stop right at the house to pick you up and drop you off. Driveway is flat, so easy to get in and out even with snow/ice around. House comes nicely equipped with decent furnishings, bedding, and pillows. Gas fireplace puts out nice heat. About the only minor criticisms are that the main dining room/family room area is a bit dim at night and could use brighter or higher-wattage lighting, and the TV is a bit small. The owner (who is very nice) stopped by unannounced to do a bit of maintenance. It would have been nice to have been told in advance someone would be coming in while we were there, or to have done it between guests, but otherwise it was a nice stay, and we would certainly rent here again.
We enjoyed our stay. It was a cozy cabin very convenient to the Northstar ski hill (on the shuttle line). The beds were comfy and everything was there that we needed. The house was a little outdated and could have used a more thorough cleaning (cob webs, dust gathered behind beds, spots on the carpets, etc). Overall, it was a nice place to come back to after the ski hill but definitely wasn’t the fanciest place we have stayed (which the price reflected that).
The house has everything we need. Close to Northstar. Warm and family oriented. Loved the Derby family pictures.
This house is what you think of when you want to rent a nice cozy cabin with cabin charm.
