management non responsive to texts regarding how dirty the unit was upon arrival. Or the fact that no one bothered to shovel sidewalk to front door! Bed Linens are sparse and terribly worn. You couldn’t walk around without having socks covered with dog hair, forget wearing anything black in the condo, dog nose smears and kid prints on windows. Garage floor was covered in grit and dirt. Owners desperately need to put a little more interest into their “happy place”. We own a large mtn home on Breckenridge but our son has bought a new build unit up on Northwoods so we have been VRBO’ing in Lakota for a few years now and this is the worst management company we have worked with up there.
My family has an annual tradition of sharing a rental house somewhere for the week of Thanksgiving with a family of close friends, enjoying each others' company and whatever the surrounding area has to offer. In the past, most of our trips have been to the Texas coast (we're all from Austin and a few of us are avid fishermen), but this year we decided we wanted to let the kids (and adults!) enjoy a bit of winter weather if possible. We rented this house in Winter Park and, upon arriving, were very pleased to see that it not only met but exceeded the pictures and description in the listing! We were also fortunate enough to have decent snowfalls at the beginning and end of our stay, so everyone got to experience both the hoped-for winter weather and the gorgeous views from the house. The locals were friendly, skiing and tubing were a blast, the food was great, and from a logistics standpoint, the host was very quick to answer the few questions that we had and extremely polite. We even got in a bit of trout fishing at the local ponds and river. Overall, one of the best experiences we've had with a rental property!
Clean space, beautiful mountain views, sufficient space for 12 people gathering, well maintained hot tub. Thumbs up to this property!!
super clean and awesome place to stay. was close to all the activities and was walking distance to winter park resort. we loved and will be back in future if we back in winter park. super clean place to stay
Excellent and quick response to concerns such as leak from roof noted, broken coffee maker. Superb management
The property was perfect for a family get away in Winter Park!
This was a beautiful, comfortable condo home for our family of 8 with a wide variety of ages of children. Furnishings and beds were new, clean, and comfortable. All kitchen appliances, dishes and supplies were well stocked. The community was plowed daily during a week of heavy snowfall and we never had issues getting in and out. Sleds and shovels were available in the garage. The large windows and views were amazing! It was so cozy to be in by the fire or sitting under the covered deck in the hot tub and watch in the snow fall and seeing the skiers/boarders on the mountain across the way. This location cannot be beat! It was less than 5 minutes from the driveway to the 30-minute drop off at Winter Park. We took turns dropping off and skiing half days with our different kids and it was so easy from this place. Property managers were very responsive and helpful. The town is nice. Helpful hint: if visiting during a busy vacation week, plan to bring your own food to cook or plan ahead and eat out/take to-go food early. It seemed the town shops and restaurants were a little bit overwhelmed by so many people visiting during the holidays, but everyone was still very kind.
We love the location! Whether we were snow boarding/tubing/snow shoeing at Winter Park Ski or cross country skiing at Devil's Thumb Ranch, these activities were just within minutes of a drive. While we were there, it snowed a couple of days. Excessive snow was promptly cleared from driveway by Skyrun while still allowing the younger kids to safely sled down the slightly inclined driveway. They had a blast! I downgraded the rating due to cleanliness of the property. We found dirty bowls in the cabinet. One of the bowls was encrusted with dried guacamole? The main floor rug & MBR carpet (especially the closet) had lots of pets hair. Under the bed was a pair of socks (I looked cuz I accidentally dropped something by the bed). Dining room chairs have pet hairs sticking out of the bottom of the legs. We couldn't park 2 trucks because there were stacks of cardboard boxes and furniture on one side of the garage. To be fair, owner was nice to accommodate an early check in at 2pm instead of 4pm so I'm not sure whether that affected the overall cleanliness. We ended not doing the early check in and boxes were hauled off in a couple of days after notifying Skyrun. Garage could not fit 2 trucks with furniture there so we did our share of snow scrapping. Also it would be nice if we have a garage remote opener. Getting in & out of the cold to open & close garage each time we were out was a PAIN! The dumpster were completely full so we had to make 2 trips to empty out our trash bins. The basement took a full night for it to warm up even when the thermostat was adjusted so be prepare to endure a cold first night. The fireplace in the basement wasn't working. Sliding doors to the upper deck and hot tub had to be muscled to open & shut. Hot tub was great after wrangling with the door. Sauna was a plus. But for the price we pay per night (close to 2K), we should expect some greatness & luxury instead we were sorely disappointed!
Beautiful home. Wonderful for large group. It was a perfect location, close to the resort. The management company was extremely responsive and helpful! Can’t wait to stay again.
