Welcome to Serendipity!
Serendipity is a spectacular 4 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom upscale mountain home a half-mile off of the Blue Ridge Parkway, less than 5 miles to downtown Blowing Rock, 6 miles to Appalachian Ski Mountain, and 7 miles to Boone.
Shopping, Restaurants, Horseback Riding, Gem Mining, Sight-seeing, Snow Skiing/Snow Boarding/Ice Skating/Snow Tubing/Sledding, and other family-friendly activities are all within minutes of this conveniently-located vacation home. Hiking, Walking, and Riding trails abound, some within a mile or two of Serendipity, including the well-known Mountains to Sea Trail. Numerous lakes and rivers are nearby as well. Enjoy its serene setting in an established mountain community that is central and convenient to Blowing Rock, Boone, and all the High Country has to offer.
The easy approach to Serendipity is all paved roads, and a paved driveway leads you to the house. For those with electric vehicles, take advantage of one of the very few area homes with an EV charger. The charger is a level 2 Charger with a J1772 charging handle. It will charge at about 23 Amps. A Tesla will need an adapter, but all other EVs do not. It will charge all of them.
Entry through the lower level exterior door closest to the parking area makes initial access convenient, however, there are exterior doors on the main level into the Dining area and the Great Room. The main level features a huge Great Room, anchored by a stacked stone gas log fireplace and seating area that stretches out and around, offering numerous entertaining areas. It is a unique, expansive Great Room with wonderful views.
A galley-style Kitchen is equipped to prepare and serve meals to a packed house. Across from the Kitchen is a convenient coffee bar with a small fridge and more counter space for buffet-style meals or setting up a beverage station, etc. The banquet-style dining table in the dining area can seat up to ten guests, plus a four-seat table in the great room for overflow dining. Outside the Dining Room is an outdoor deck with a gas grill and an outdoor dining table for six. More outdoor seating on the numerous decks can accommodate more outdoor dining as needed. Also accessible from the main level is the big hot tub, from which guests can enjoy sunny days, starry nights, and those priceless mountain views.
The main level boasts two bedroom suites with King beds, HDTVs, and full ensuite bathrooms. These two suites have private covered decks with outdoor seating and views.
Upstairs is the Master Suite with a King bed, amazing views, a private rooftop Juliette deck with comfy lounging furniture, an ensuite master bathroom, and HDTV. In addition, there is a generous loft with comfortable furniture, a Twin day bed, and a Twin trundle bed.
The lower level features a fun game room with a shuffleboard table and a tabletop MultiCade with dozens of fun arcade games. There is a large wall-mounted HD Smart TV in the game room for watching ballgames or hooking up gaming consoles. The lower level also offers the fourth bedroom suite with two Twin beds plus two Twin trundle beds for extra sleeping options, an ensuite bathroom, an HDTV, and a generous furnished private view deck. A laundry room with a washer and dryer is also on the lower level.
Serendipity offers full climate control heating and air conditioning throughout, plus high-speed WiFi internet. The quality and care with which the owners of Serendipity have furnished and outfitted this special mountain getaway are unparalleled. This has been their family vacation home for decades. The property is awesome for 10 adults and very close to Boone/App St. We were visiting for App St. parents weekend and the game against ECU. The biggest issue was the internet was down hard for Friday and Saturday, we had no TV for college football games. Another issue was that we received a call from the management company at 930pm Saturday that we were being to loud. I did acknowledge we were playing music on the deck, but quiet hours didn’t start until 10pm. I told the management company we would quiet down at 10pm which was the listed quiet hours, the management company didn’t have a problem with that but they did say the owner was upset because I hadn’t responded to an email which I had not seen, and if I had, I would’ve responded. The management company did submit a ticket to get the internet fixed on Sunday, the provider did come out and fix things so we had internet and TV on Sunday. The property was great, the views and proximity to other activities is outstanding. There is a fully stocked kitchen, a stove with griddle and a very large dinner table that can accommodate 10 people. The three Master suites are very comfortable clean and quiet. I would definitely rent again, but would caution renting in the winter season because you will need four-wheel-drive if there’s any snow or ice to get to the location and to get up the driveway.
We were three couples taking a long weekend trip to the mountains for hiking, rest, and relaxation. This house was perfect: queen or king bedrooms on upper and main floor, all with their own bath, very comfortable common areas, beautiful views from all across the front of the house (decks and living area), and super easy access to the Parkway and great hiking trails with various levels of difficulty. After a day of hiking, coming back to the hot tub at the end of the day was always a treat. (It was definitely the best hot tub we've ever had in all the houses we've rented, both at the beach and in the mountains.) Communication with the management was excellent. When we called the first morning with a few questions and one thing that needed attention, they had the maintenance person come right out. We all agreed that we would love to rent this property again.
Enjoyed our short family vacation to NC. Serenity was achieved.
Great view of Grandfather Mountain and the perfect setting for our four couples Spring get away. Lots of space in the great room and wonderful deck.
Absolutely perfect!
It was a great experience! all needs were met. Communication was excellent. Overall was a 5 star! We will definitely go rent again!
The cabin was perfect for a getaway with friends. Lots of space and very clean. Great location!
We are 6 mature adults who spent 6 nights here in late October. The property was very clean and spacious. Having 4 bedrooms all with their own bathrooms was great. There is a nice game room in the basement and a Jacuzzi tub on the deck which looked inviting but which we did not use because of the weather. The kitchen was well equipped and had two refrigerators. The views were very nice but we missed much of the fall colors. The mountains were still majestic. The best part of the house is the location. We were 15 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and Boone. We also took a side trip to Black Mountain which took about 90 minutes along good roads. The house is within 30 minutes to Blowing Rock Mountain and Grandfather Mountain. We were there for Appalachian State University's homecoming which was fun. There are many great restaurants and shops , our favorite shop being the Mast General Store. The only downside was the 25-30 steps to reach the main level. When we got back from dinner the first night the outside lights were not working and it was difficult to get up the stairs. Hopefully that will be fixed for the next guests. There is a lower level bedroom but it still requires a few steps up and a narrow staircase to get to the main level. We entered through the lower bedroom and used those stairs which was easier to climb. Finally, it would help if there were some local maps of Boone and Blowing Rock. You can get them for free at the Mast General Store or visitors center. Overall a great experience and we would return.
Would highly recommend it, and would stay there again.
Beautiful home, view was spectacular.. enjoyed our stay.
This house was perfect for our group of 6. It was very spacious with an abundance of seating indoors and out. The kitchen and dining area were both more than adequate and very well stocked. We did not use the game room or the hot tub but they both looked spotless and well cared for. The location was great for day time trips or eating out. We would definitely stay there again!
Excellent house for a group to stay. Lots to do and felt separated as well. Game room was a huge bonus. Love the views!! Great location as it was a 10 minute drive to both Boone and Blowing Rock. House had everything you could need!
Glad we picked your house
