Welcome to your beautiful mountain cabin getaway! There’s room for the whole gang inside this home, and the outdoor space is just as inviting as the indoor space.
Step inside to the main living area and you’ll see thoughtful, cabin-styled details everywhere. The open layout means the chef won’t miss any of the action while they’re preparing everything from feasts to snacks. Lots of counter space, stainless steel appliances, and all the gadgets they need are right at hand. The dining area, adjacent to the kitchen, seats six. And the large sectional, fronting the electric fireplace and flatscreen TV, is just the place to get snuggly later.
Now step outside and survey your surroundings. Grab a seat on one of your gigantic deck’s rocking chairs and contemplate what to do with the day. Or, just rock a while and do nothing at all. When it’s time to head out for the day, the Tuckasegee River is half a mile away for the trout angler in the group, and you’re near Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Bryson City, and much more.
At dinnertime, fire up that grill, dine alfresco on the deck, and spend some time gathered around the firepit. When it’s time to call it a night, you’ll be spoiled for choice. Each of the four bedrooms has a king bed, and two feature an en suite bathroom as well. But don’t let the day end without one more turn in the rocking chair.

We had a small problem upon arrival which prompted a call to the 800 #. We were able to solve our problem on our own which was good since local property manager didn’t contact us back for 2 days.
Wonderful stay beautiful property will be staying again
Loved everything
My extended family and I go on a mountain weekend every year, for over a decade, so we're well versed in mountain rentals. The good: open floorplan, which is great for togetherness; a king bed in each room; generally nice mountain decor; clean bathrooms; central location to both Sylva and Bryson City; great porch/yard space; great washer and dryer; The not-so-good: Cleaning crew was still there even 30 minutes after check-in time (and when brought up to Vacasa, their answer was basically they're doing their job, with no concern for the customer experience). Vacasa, in general, is not that easy to work with. Since it is a company (compared to an individual), the response time is lagging and when you call, it takes forever to actually get through to someone that can help you. The house had a lot of cobwebs, as well as a lot of dirt under the sofa (which moves apart a lot, since it is not a connected sectional). The kitchen is not fully stocked (lack of cooking tools, like tongs) and disorganized. The internet name/password were completely wrong on the app and the individual we talked to on the phone at Vacasa just kept saying to turn it off and on. Had the right information not been on the bottom of the router, I doubt we would have been connected. No scenic views. All in all, we give the Leyland Lodge 3 stars-not terrible, but would not stay again.
Fabulous...Clean...Easy Check-In and Check-Out...Great Location - close to Polar Express...Lots of Room...Well-Appointed Kitchen....Plan To Return Next Year...LOVED IT!
Cozy house with large bedrooms and common area. Great porch with view of railroad and train. Polar Express passes right through the area. Highly recommend if you are visiting to ride the Polar Express.
The cabin was the right space for our multi-gen family of 6. The back porch and fireplace made for very relaxing time outside. We had reported several maintenance and comfort issues the first full day of our stay and had no response for the rest of our stay (5 nights). Wifi speed was abysmal, grill didn't work and is in desperate need of being replaced, floors were dirty inside which isn't ideal with two small children crawling around. I hope this is an isolated issue. I had high hopes but the lack of service really spoiled it for me.
We loved the house, really clean, easy access to everywhere, every morning in out stay I went to the back porch at 6:30 am to hear the birds, beautiful! The communication system is great, clear information. We were really happy there
Upon arrival, on Friday 9/23/2022, at the Leyland Lodge we discovered there was NO coffee maker or hair dryer. I immediately called someone and spoke to a real person to let them know the issue. I was assured someone would get back to me and resolve this issue. I accepted the fact we wouldn't be able to have coffee the next morning, but I thought everything was addressed. That evening I sent an email and several texts because I had not heard anything yet. On Sat I again sent a few more texts and tried to call again, but service was so poor I couldn’t talk to the person who answered. It wasn't until Sun morning that someone finally sent a text back. They offered to drop something off in a few hours. I told them to forget it because we were leaving the following day. To top all of that off, on Sunday morning I receive a text asking me if I am ready to check out. I had the place reserved through Monday morning. I had to send them my name, confirmation number, and location I was staying. They attempted to resolve the issue by offering me a small credit, which was 1/2 of what I told them I wanted. I strongly recommend NOT renting anything from Vacasa. All they are concerned with is getting your money. Once they have that it is easy to ignore any requests you have. I am still waiting for a call from the Manager who would only approve 1/2 of the credit I asked for. No surprise there. AVOID VACASA!
Went for a short weekend trip and loved the cabin. Everything was cleaned, a beautifully decorated. Very comfortable cabin
What a surprisingly perfect getaway this was. It was clean and comfortable with all the ambiance needed for a mountain home. We enjoyed the back porch and it’s rockers. When we were not chasing waterfalls and trails, the kids enjoyed chasing the many butterflies flocking to the bushes in the backyard. The fire pit was perfect for storytelling and roaring marshmallows. It was just a lovely place to stay as we explored the surrounding areas beauty and history. Perfect way to start a new homeschooling school year!
Would rent again!
Loved this place. Very convenient to Cherokee, Bryson City, Great Smokey Mountain National Park. Will definitely stay again.
Everything was as advertised and will definitely stay at this property again just wonderful couldn’t have ask for a better experience and would definitely recommend this property to someone else.
I never received any responses to texts sent to owner or manager with questions. This was very troubling to me. Otherwise, it was a very nice and clean house.
