*** Lake Lure will be undergoing a drawdown starting January 1st, through the first quarter (March 31st). The lake will begin to be lowered by approximately 1 foot per day until 12 feet has been reached. Infrastructure maintenance, dredging, and dam projects will be expedited during this time frame. These efforts by the Town of Lake Lure may affect access to the lake and restrict any lake usage. The lake will likely be back up to normal levels by mid to late April. No personal watercraft will be allowed on the lake during this time. While we understand this is an inconvenience, this does allow you to enjoy the full beauty of Lake Lure in the fall and holiday season. For more information about the annual lake drawdown, please contact the Town of Lake Lure.
Moonshadow Mountain is the best home I ever rented in the mountains. The wrap around porch, water falls and stream were gorgeous. Very comfortable accomodations near Chimney Rock and Lake Lure.
We had a great time! Everything was perfect. We enjoyed the waterfall, and sitting by the firepit.
House was clean and well stocked. Check in process was easy. We arrived pretty late at night and it was easy to find.
Third year staying at this property. Beautiful, clean and comfortable. Beautiful area. Highly recommend.
I stayed here with my 3yo and family friends with a 9yo. The kids loved wading in the creek near the waterfall. The cabin is beautiful and tucked in the woods for a secluded retreat but close to lots of outdoor attractions and activities. We went on 3 waterfall hikes and swimming in Lake Lure. There’s so much more we could have explored! The kitchen was well-stocked and great for making meals at home. I just wish there was an empty cabinet or pantry to store food items out of the way. I loved having my coffee on the porch by the creek each morning. The creek is kinda loud, though, and the church next door plays quite the concert on it’s bell tower every hour from 9am to 6pm, but it wasn’t unpleasant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!
Exactly as pictured! Great weekend get-a-way. While the area has very spotty cell service, the internet at the house works great. We loved it!
This property is beautifully situated. Unfortunately the home itself is disappointing. It was only marginally clean- had to clean 2 of the bathrooms myself, and pet hair was all over the downstairs rug and in washer of this no pet rental. The king bed is worn out and lumpy -we sunk about 6 inches. The water pressure is poor - very difficult to get clean or rinse shampoo out of hair. The pots and pans are mostly unusable and some were actually unsafe. I had buy a skillet. The internet is so slow you can't connect in a useful way let alone stream a movie at night. This is the only way to use the TV. Download your maps before you get there! An excessive amount of exterior cameras- no privacy once you step outside -goes way beyond keeping the property secure. No way you can sit on the porch in your pajamas with your morning coffee as an always on camera is aimed right at you. The power went out and I got no assistance from the property manager. Tried to reach out to VRBO and got no assistance.
Highly recommend this house. Clearly well taken care of by the owners. Super clean. New. Pretty cool having a waterfall on property. Everything is very close. Great communication with rental company.
We absolutely loved staying here! The property is remote enough to feel like a retreat, and the waterfall and creek outside were beautiful. Chimney Rock is very close, Asheville is a 30 minute drive, and there is great hiking all around. We had a great time and would absolutely stay again.
We loved everything about this place, one of our favorites!
