Antique wormy chestnut corbels support a carved pine mantel.
The French farm dining table is flanked by two hand-carved oak chairs from the late 1800s. An antique leaded glass window, pendant light and original art provide the finishing romantic touch to this dining area. Uba Tuba granite countertops, maple cabinets, Travertine backsplash, and stainless steel appliances comprise the kitchen. The washer and dryer are located in the bathroom which features a vanity made from a hand-carved antique oak preacher's podium with a Verde Peacock granite countertop. The pine paneling and trim in the bedroom and throughout the home has been reconditioned from the old exterior board and baton siding. Bedroom entertainment is provided with a 32-inch HDTV and cable DVR embedded in the wall.
Prairie style patio doors lead to a spacious private deck with seating area and Hot Springs hot tub with moto-massage. The deck railing is the only one of its kind and was designed to create an Adirondack feeling. A creek meanders along the deck and is surrounded by day lilies during the spring and summer months. A stone fire pit is available for your enjoyment as well.

The cabin is very cute, tucked away in the mountains. Very quiet and private, perfect for a couple looking to recharge and reconnect. Most amenities you'd expect were provided, except for coffee. Since we got in late at night, the next morning was tough. But! They had tea and that was enough caffeine to start the day. The cabin was generally clean. We did have an issue with the dishwasher, that they said will be looked into. Pet-friendly, but not a lot of space to walk your dog. If your pup is stubborn like ours, you may find yourself walking in the cold for a while. Hot tub was clean and stayed hot while in use. Often times with rentals, you either get the jets or the heat. Nice to have both, as it should be. Convenient access to downtown areas, skiing and shopping. If you travel in the winter, 4WD or AWD is almost a must. My RWD SUV struggled to get out of the mountains with the icy and snowy conditions. We would definitely stay here again.
It is a great place and a central location to North Carolina Highlands, between Boone and Blowing Rock.
Our stay was wonderful!
Great stay in a cozy cabin in close proximity to Boone and Blowing Rock. Loved spending my birthday weekend there with my husband and dog!
Great location and wonderful weekend! Would do it again!
My husband and I spent a couple of days at this cute cabin after our wedding. It was the perfect, little cabin retreat to relax, un-plug and recharge. Although we didn't get to take advantage of the outdoor fire pit, we were able to use the indoor fireplace. We also enjoyed the hot tub and the tranquil forest views. We hope to visit again when there's snow on the ground.
