There are two queen beds in the main level bedrooms and two full beds in the loft. Two full bathrooms. The primary bedroom steps out onto the spacious deck that wraps around part of the house.
The kitchen is well-appointed. If you love to cook, this kitchen does the trick. Lots of counter space. Gas stove. Plenty of kitchen items, too. The living room features an electric fireplace to add ambiance and a smart TV with streaming only (no cable). WiFi provided.
The views from this space are lovely, with cattails and cedars and wildflowers peeking through the ground. There are woodland animals and birds for the nature lover. Enchanting. The Barn was a spacious place where our family was able to enjoy our time together. It is close to Traverse city. Lots of charm!
We had a couples weeknd close to downtown, beautiful clean house.
We had a campfire in the fire pit and a dark walk to the lake. Very relaxing.
We had a great stay and loved everything about this place!

Perfectly appointed modern vibe. Quick walk to a charming quiet beach. It’s like staying in an IKEA show room — which let’s face it — we’ve all dreamed about. Our only concern would be the ladder up to the loft. Seemed a bit precarious.

It is also a really nice, open floodplan. Very clean, with very nice furnishings and fantastic outdoor space.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were really happy with this vacation home and would definitely recommend it. The design and overall aesthetic is great. The location is very central; walking distance to the Crystal River, Lake Michigan and downtown Glen Arbor. Plus an easy drive to various trailheads. We appreciated having access to kayaks and chairs on the riverside dock in and used the fire pit in the backyard most evenings. The rental included well thought out amenities such as games, books, Bluetooth speakers and stocked kitchen. The unit and all linens were very clean. Overall, only positive things to say.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: More like a palace then an animal shelter that the name implies. It's spacious and comfortably remodeled, a very nicely equipped kitchen and dining area that we used for all meals to avoid the expense of eating out. Would urge owners to relocate the key box from the porch post to the door since if the key happens to fall while replacing or opening the box it can fall into dense undergrowth below porch deck causing annoying search, particularly after dark. Really enjoyed our visit and hope to return next year if rent doesn't increse.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very much enjoyed our stay. Everything was great...location, kitchen, cleanliness, etc. however, there was one major negative: the internet is terrible. Could not stream tv. Only one person could be on internet at a time.
Great property in a nice location close to town. Photos do not show the backyard with fire pit, and bathroom in master bedroom which were both very nice. Only letdown was that the steam shower in master bath was not functional.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our stay at the Barn on Bay Lane. The home is so cozy and tastefully decorated. It was super clean with lovely furniture and high end furnishings. It’s easy to find and nestled among the trees with a short walk to Lake Michigan.
We had a terrific stay. The Barn was wonderful. A beautiful property just a short walk from the beach.
We had a great stay and would love to stay again, although the price seems a bit high compared to other properties on the peninsula. The home is just off of M22 and away from the bustle of Glen Arbor. Our stay would have been more pleasant without the involvement of the property management company who complicates the stay with extra heavy handed legalistic paperwork which also undersells the home in that it was much better stocked than implied. For example - the home had some spices, salt & pepper, and extra paper products. There wasn't anything that we needed that wasn't there. The owner briefly stopped to inspect some exterior maintenance, and was very friendly & helpful. He recommended his dock on the Crystal River (across M22) which was a very serene place to sit! The home and property are nicely designed & you will not be disappointed.
The unit was a great home, nicely appointed and very comfortable. Also a great location with short walk (200 yds) to Lake Michigan and 1/2 mile from downtown Glen Arbor. Only minor complaint is that it is a small lot and not as much privacy as expected from pictures.
Close to everything you would want to check out in the area. Great accommodations, and the Host was extremely helpful and friendly. Had everything we needed, only wish we had had more time to explore the area and enjoy the beautiful property. Thank you.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Barn on Bay Lane was a terrific choice for our family (4 adults, 1 teen, small dog). It was clean and modern with ample space. The loft stairs were a bit tricky though, even for adults and teens. The house is close to other properties and M-22, but we had sufficient privacy. We loved walking to town and the lake. The alewives were a problem on the beach this summer, but we also enjoyed the beach at Glen Haven and a couple places closer to Empire and Frankfort. The bike path was wonderful as was the pontoon rental on Glen Lake. Grocery and restaurants were convenient, and we loved Bear Paw pizza. We didn't take advantage of the kayaks, but plenty to do in the area. Visit Up North made everything simple. We hope to return soon!
This was the perfect place for our family. Plenty of open space to gather as a family but also space for the teens to have some alone time. Great location! Walk to the water, short drive or bike to town, short trip to sleeping bear dunes. Super clean, super easy. We loved this place!
A great location close to everything---the beach, food, hiking and biking trails. A thoughtfully designed home which is tastefully decorated in a California/Scandinavian motif---relaxing and homey.
Beautiful, very clean house with very nice furnishings and very comfortable beds. We would stay there again.
Really great location, close to town and house is very easy to stay in! Very homie feeling
